Brynn, what a wonderful outlet for you and the people you bake for!! Thank you for sharing your story. I hope it's ok that I replied. Keep up the great and "sweet" work! ❤
Hey John. I've been watching your videos for a while now, and I love them. I've used a few of your recipes, and they're always fantastic. Anyway, I know your videos aren't really about this, but you and your husband living in a gorgeous house with your kids gives me hope for my own future. Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in the rampant homophobia at my school that I forget that I'm allowed to be happy one, too. Thank you for all the positivity you share
Jessica! All I can say is it definitely gets better. Just focus on you and your path. High School can be so rough but if you set yourself up then the world is your oyster! Lots of love and Happy Baking!
When I feel lazy and like I want to scream at my boss and quit , I look your videos and look at your kitchen and then look at my kitchen, after that I recover my energies and wills of working
Looks amazing and will make it today. Grew up and raised in the USA and now living in Tokyo. My family and friends are going to love this, REAL homemade salsa…Thanks! Arigato
I made this yesterday for my boyfriend and his dad. I used fresh tomatoes with crushed tomatoes. We had it with quesadillas and it was delicious. Thank you!
My grandmother used to make a simple salsa like that, but then she would brown some ground beef, rinse the grease off, then put the salsa in and cook it together. GREAT and simple burrito/taco filling :)
John I am from Turkey and the way you speaking in English is really melodic to my ears 😂 Your pronounciation, your stress to words (do not know its right words 😅) is really hypnotizing 😅 Like the way you say “delicious” in 4:02 😅
Ketchup?!? Never! Salsa definitely needs fresh limes! Whenever I have a baby shower, I like to give “Dragons Love Tacos” and it’s sequel! Green tomatillo salsa would be a great next salsa video!
Im obsessed with salsa. Even though Im not mexican, and love mexican food, I got a recipe for this retired floridian restauranteur, and its the best. Your is a little more complex in flavor, which definitelly will make me try it, but there are a couple of strokes of genius (stupidly enough I never thought of using the food processor and I always dice everything by hand, lol). PS THANKS for adding the cilantro and lime. Its a must.
This recipe is amazing. I made it today, and it came out so good. It is officially the best salsa. I thought the garlic was a little too much for my taste, but everyone else loved it.
Ketchup?? 😂😂 that funny. My husband would be Like 😳😳 my husband is from Mexico and he loves salsa and makes it so hot we are running out of the house coughing and gagging. 😂😂
Looks good, as a mexican, in my household we use around 6 jalapeños for every 3 tomatoes and sometimes we'll even add some chile de arbol or chile piquin/chiltepin, so yours is really not spicy at all, but looks GORGEOUS! for like some totopos and eating for snack
Hiiiii i love your videos so much I live salsa ive had it my whole life Ive had moroccan salsa Spanish salsa and other ones but nothing can beat the traditional
I love KETCHUP on my Tacos too. 🌮 delicious. I love green salsa that's chunky. I love watching all your videos. Thank you for all your time to share your techniques.
Nice to learn to make salsa in the food chopper unit. no waste of the tomato juice. I live in rural western Canada and tomatoes are very expensive in winter and spring season. Good to know canned whole tomatoes can be used in place of fresh product during the off season months and when traveling in an RV as refrigeration is not required.
@@phoenix2.020 , think about it... Most nacho recipes call for ground beef, tomato, onion, and beans cooked with chili powder... If that's not chili in a can, I don't know what... Now you can make home made chili, but on movie night, throw it together, toss in the microwave until the cheese is melted and the chili is hot and serve on the same plate. Easy, peasy. 💖🌞🌵😷
Hi John.Greetings from El Salvador. My kids are older now but they were also obsessed with "Dragons love tacos"! Hilarious books. Without the spice this looks like a dragon-worthy salsa! Yummy. Your recipes are great, easy to follow and I truly appreciate your attention to detail. You cover the recipe at every stage and as a cooking enthusiast this is most welcomed (especially for desserts.) Anyone can tell your cooking is a labor of love for your family and fans. Keep it up, John. Try more Hispanic recipes, please. Oh and for the record my hubbie puts ketchup & tabasco on my Mom's home-made delicious tamales, and I have no words to explain that either.
Do you have to used canned tomatoes? I have an excess of tomatoes in my garden currently. I did this recipe with some garden tomatoes plus a can yesterday and it was amazing but I’m wondering if using all garden tomatoes would be okay too. I only used three cloves of garlic and could still taste it when I woke up even though I brushed my teeth twice last night. 😬
Hi John, I love all your recipes. I never seen roma tomatoes & canned tomatoes together. This looks so delicious 😋 Thank you!! I can't wait to make this!!
If you grow your own heirloom tomato plants, try Opaka tomatoes. They are large tomatoes with very few seeds. They freeze well & I have canned salsa and pasta sauce. Saved my seeds from last years crop and had good luck starting plants this year.
I'm with Brian on cilantro. *Shudder* And guess who else was on our team. None other than Julia Child! So there. Except for the evil green, your salsa looks delicious.
Mmmmmm I can smell and taste this beautiful salsa by just watching! I’m a big fan of fresh salsa - nothing can compare. I also love tons of cilantro, so I say pack it in! Once my herbs are more mature, I’m going to try out your recipe. I haven’t had them years (sadly), but my dad was given 2 family salsa recipes (tomatillo and a spicy red) from a Mexican couple he worked with. These recipes were passed down for generations and are just phenomenally delicious.
Could you preserve (can) this recipe? If so, what would the procedure be for that? Also did the soft pretzel recipe which was awesome. Will there ever be a bagel show?
I love the book dragons love tacos 😍 my 4 year old is obsessed with it too. I read it in a waiting room once and laughed so hard I had to go buy it. Can’t wait to try this salsa recipe!!
You use the exact same ingredients that I use for my salsa, except that I roast all of my vegetables first, either in a cast iron skillet or in the oven. I roast them until the skins is black, and then add all of them to the food processor like you do with the remaining ingredients. It really does add another level of flavor with that charred skin.
An awesome recipe, simple and so tasty and fresh!!! Not quite salsa but how about a pesto made of argula, some garlic, dried tomatos, walnuts and parmigiano?🙂😊 try it out, its really good! Stay safe & thank you for the always awesome videos!!
You are so right! I hate those crappy orange tomatoes that are supposed to be red. Give me a beautiful dark red beefsteak tomato and I am happy! Great recipe - I want to try it!!!
Do Salsa Verde next. I’d like to see how it compares with my own recipe. Your Salsa is very similar to mine, except that I don’t use chili powder or canned tomatoes. These are too expensive in my country and we have access to fresh tomatoes all year round.
I love chips and salsa! I made this as an appetizer for dinner with your taco soup recipe for dinner! Delicious, everyone could not stop eating! Definitely a winner in my house!😍😋😁
I make a number of different types of salsa. The one I make that is similar to this one, I steam the tomatoes, roast Serrano chilis over the burner as well as an orange bell pepper. While everything is still warm, I add all with some cumin and fresh lime juice to the blender. While still warm, I pour it into a bowl with freshly hand chopped cilantro and green onions. I feel the warm ingredients help the flavors to meld together, especially when adding the hot tomatoes to the blender with the cumin. I don't add any salt because I don't want it to make the salsa watery. I add salt as I serve. Once cooled, serve. No garlic in this one.
The salsa looks really good. I love elephant garlic and can't find it here either. I order 2 heads of it from Amazon and pulled them apart and planted them. Hopefully I can get them growing and have it from now on.
I was thinking then chips and salsa and then released oh tortolia crisps. Just shows how things can be so different even though we both speak English. Also love your vedios and not many youtubers post regularly like u do thanks.
