This means the the difference between red and green wavelength color signals overlap. The Enchroma lens technology selectively filters the precise wavelenth of light in the "confusion line." By blocking the line of confusion, there is greater perceived separation between shades of red and green. Enchroma glasses are not able to address trianopia, which is reduced discrimination between blue and yellow shades of color. Fortunately, tritanopia is much less common than red-green deficiency.
