In considering this same machine. What speed were you running it at? Speed 1? Speed 2?
At one point it looked like the machine was at max capacity and it was building up a small mound of snow in front of it.
Any thoughts on difficulty controlling the machine on bumpy, or irregular icy surfaces? Some report having to constantly fight with the machine, trying to keep it going straight, due to the auto-turn system incorrectly thinking every bumpy restriction is an attempt to make a turn. Do you experience this?

I have a busted spine/back and this is the easiest machine I've ever used. I don't use it with the tracks down because you can't turn it.
I got mine end of season last year and only used it once before winter ended. This year I have used it 4 times. The drive/torque in the tracks seem weak. IT is getting stuck a lot on low speed.
It has issues backing up into the garage over a 3 inch hump. It has issues going up slight inclines in low gears. I think the friction disc or whatever they use is already fked or defective. It should not have these issues and I am sure others aren't..
The auto locking auger thing no longer works.
The Locking track thing sticks on and doesn't free up easily.
It doesn't seem to be shooting the snow very good either.
I think the store who sold me this machine needed to do a better job at ensuring everything worked proper before they dropped it off. Now I have to call them to come and fix some of these small issues.
I also think the engine feels weak. I've had multiple machines over the years and honestly, this machine was not worth the money other than it is easy to move and saves my back pain.
We had a husqavarna before this one. Only a 24 inch machine, way less hp and it had all kinds of power/torque in the low gears. Im just not impressed with the ariens at the moment and I am sure it could be fixed to run better but for the price I paid 4200 CDN, it should have zero problems after 5 uses.

@@tjl8884 Could be defective, could need adjustment, could be user error. If you try to change speeds on the fly and don't stop you'll prematurely were out the friction disc. Not saying you do this but those discs are designed to last a very long time under normal use and they do last a very long time. The slipping is also causing you not to be able to push through snow or back up, its not a lack of torque.

I have one since 3 years. I will sell it as soon as i can. The differential breaks all the time. VERY expensive and way too weak.

@@johns5504 Well. That transmission is built by "General Transmission" in the USA. And there are plenty of videos showing what's happening. The latest as saw was from donyboy73 here on UA-cam.

@@johns5504 Me either. Only one I've seen worn out was on a machine used commercially doing 20-30 driveways at a time.

About how much does it cost to repair?

@@justinbone4238 The part is $400 here in Canada ... I'm about to weld that god dam shaft. Quite honestly, I could not care less about a differential on a blower ... That's about winter where everything slides too much, right ? I'm strong enough to rock that lady just like if we were just married ...
