  • It's the bee's knees and the only ingredient is honey!
RMC has an Amazon Storefront! If you see an ingredient or piece of equipment in a video and think you'd find it useful, click on the link and check it out. If you decide to purchase something in the storefront, I'll receive a small percentage, but it won't increase your price at all.

    Directions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Apply a light coat of cooking spray to the parchment
Place 254 grams (3/4 cup) of honey and a candy thermometer in a saucepan
Cook it over medium heat until the temperature reaches 280° F
Pour the honey onto the baking sheet
Let it set until it’s cool enough to handle. Don’t wait too long or it’ll be too hard to work with
Fold the honey into a ball
Stretch it and fold it back onto itself
What you’re doing here is aerating the honey
You’ll notice the color changing from amber to a light tan
When it reaches the consistency you’d like, separate it into halves
Roll each piece into a 12-inch "snake"
Cut each taffy snake into 6 pieces
Form each piece into whatever shape you’d like
Wrap each piece in some cellophane or wax paper

As a kid 60s years ago a treat was vinegar taffy from recipe in the Searchlight cookbook. It was very good and fun to pull.

Now I’m going to think about all the bees that died making every bite of honey I take.
    36 per piece of taffy.
    Oof.

What language is it that you're speaking when you eat? I've been trying to figure it out for a while now and the best guess I can come up with is bulgarian, but I'm not sure if that's right.

    What's shelf life

    • @RandyMakesCandy
      @RandyMakesCandy  5 місяців тому

Honey can be stored indefinitely, so I imagine these could be stored in an airtight container for quite some time.

Maybe 3 months, but I'm not a food scientist, so I can't say for sure. You're welcome to use any recipe I've posted. Good luck on your business venture. 😊
