My favorite introduction: Signal for everyone to stand. They don’t get to sit until they show listening comprehension. Teacher calls out review items. For example, reviewing colors and or clothing: “If you have white shoes, sit down.” Continue with black shoes, a green shirt, blue pants, etc. until everyone is seated. For fun I have a noisemaker to signal mistakes, or I just make an odd noise (sad trombone). Latecomers will end up standing the longest because they’ve missed so many categories already spoken by teacher.
