Musée d'Orsay is the Best Museum to Visit in Paris

- Musée d'Orsay is the best museum to visit in Paris and, if you only have time to visit one, this is it. Of course you could spend days on end exploring the countless incredible museums in Paris, but the Musée d'Orsay should be at the top of your list. You hear a lot about the Louvre and might find yourself thinking about the Louvre vs Musée d'Orsay, wondering which is more worthy of your time. While the Louvre is amazing - and it is! - I still recommend visiting the Musée d'Orsay, if you have to choose. Even if you don't consider yourself an art lover, I can almost guarantee you will recognize many of the paintings here. It's the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art in the world (from 1848 to 1914) and includes some of the most famous paintings ever by artists like Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet, and Degas. The history and architecture of the building itself is fascinating, too, and you'll be shocked to hear that it was almost demolished. Thankfully it was saved and turned into the world-class museum and art gallery you see today. Watch the video for more information and tips on getting the most out of your visit.

Which would you pick: Musée d'Orsay or the Louvre? 🤔
They're both astonishing and not to be missed. But Musee d'Orsay gets underdog points. And, Impressionism is the summit of artistic expression in the Western World so. . .
I would take my sleeping bag and live in d'orsay for sure
D’Orsay is so much easier to navigate since it is more compact. I couldn’t find my way in the Louvre. Plus, I found the art exhibited at D’Orsay to be much more to my liking (so much religious art at The Louvre, which isn’t top on my “want to see” list).
Perhaps the Musée d'Orsay for its collection of impressionistic artworks, though being unfamiliar with everything that the Louvre is supposed to contain, it would be a hard comparison to do at this point. The Musée d'Orsay being featured in a great Doctor Who episode as they visit Vincent Van Gogh in his time, and then bring him into the present to show him his impact upon the world of art gave a bit of extra recognition to the Musée d'Orsay from it. It would be so amazing to see the actual works of art from all of those world-renowned impressionistic era painters in person. I'm definitely in need of getting to Paris at some point in the future to see that city and its culture in person.

We took a day out from Disneyland back in August to have a day in Paris and we fell in love with this place. An absolutely stunning building and some of the most famous and beautiful pieces of art in the world.
Agreed! Glad you enjoyed it as well. How did you like Paris Disney? We made a video there too if you'd like to check it out: bit.ly/disneyparisvlog Curious how it compares to your experience. We've also made a bunch of other videos about Paris: bit.ly/parisplaylist. Such an amazing city. 😊
Hi! I visited years ago when I was ‘stranded’ by a rail strike (le greve). There was no one around and I knew how lucky I was. Still remember the wicker chairs in one of the upstairs rooms. Good times!
Musee d'Orsay is my go-to museum in Paris. I have visited 4 or 5 times and always find it a wonderful and inspiring visit!
As a Parisian, it is definitely my favourite museum as well!
The building is amazing and it goes without saying that the masterpieces available there are extraordinary. Since the late 19th century is my favourite period in terms of art, it is always a delight to go visit.
Plus, I have to say that I went back this August and, the fact that there are way less visitors due to Covid-19 pandemic, made the visit more enjoyable. I guess it's the same in every major museums around the world.
Love, love, love the d'Orsay! I was there last week and saw all the paintings that are in your video, took a photo of my daughter (and she of me) in the clock on the 5th floor. Wonderful video of our favorite museum ever
Brings back memories... my favorite museum
This museum was so packed when I went which kind of ruined the experience especially with the children crying but I was so amazed with the paintings there
That's too bad. Not surprised it was packed as it's so popular but hope you still enjoyed :) The paintings are incredible.
I love this museum. Absolutely my favorite place in Paris. I will come back one day and sit in front of Renoir's Girls at the Piano.
That's one of my favourites too! I had a little copy of that in my house. I also love his two paintings of Dance in the City and Dance in the Country ❤️
This museum was definitely my favorite! Much better than the Louvre, by far. Fabulous building and paintings there!
Sensational!
It is! Do you have a favourite part?
You had me at those first Van Gogh paintings :) You know I'm an artist, ex Disney artist. So I'm loving this episode to the max! The visuals are Stunning!!! Short and sweet and I'll definitely be watching this one several times over :)
I remember seeing a version of Degas's ballerina sculpture at the Norton Simon museum in Pasadena California. Sooo beautiful.
Special thanks for this one guys, touched my creative heart 🥰
Best, James and Kim
That makes me so happy to hear! Yes, I thought this one would resonate with your creative spirit! So cool that you were a Disney artist :) I find so much inspiration at this museum and the history of the building makes it even more special to me. I can't believe that restaurant used to be the 'dining hall' either - can you imagine?! So luxurious. I also love the ballerina sculpture by Degas (the one I'm looking at in this video). I remember seeing a picture of it in art class as a kid (I did ballet too) and falling in love. I had posters of some of these paintings up in my room for a long time. It's very special to find this collection under one roof ❤️
Absoutely agree❤
It is truly my favorite museum in Paris.
Awesome!
Stayed in an apartment for a week on Ru de Lily right behind the Orsay in 2014. That week and this museum in particular opened my eyes and launched a fascination with Van Gogh and others. Can't wait to return someday.
Hey George, That sounds like a wonderful trip and experience. If you're interested in Van Gogh we made a video about Montmartre that features a place he used to live. It's here: ua-cam.com/video/fFFA7URei7Q/v-deo.html Perhaps a spot to visit on your next visit to Paris :)
Rue de Lille, I guess ? 😉 Well, you chose a real great location ! In the most expensive area in Paris. But you were right : this area is truly beautiful. I hope you enjoyed your stay !!! 🙂
@@heliedecastanet1882 Yikes. Sorry about the typo. Yes. Rue de Lille. It was a group of 5 of us sharing an apartment, made it economical. Perfect location.
What an amazing gallery! I’m definitely going to have to Van Gogh there. Love how you guys show the beauty in everything. Also really liked the thumbnail for this one :) Keep up the great work!!
haha love the pun ;) It is in incredible space and the collection is amazing 💕
Thank you very much for this video! The history of this building in the beginning of this video right away caught my attention. Enjoyed everything you showed & said in this video. Thanks, both of you!
Thank you! I'm glad you're as interested in the history of this building as I am. Thank goodness it's still here today and not torn down! :)
Orsay is my favorite museum in Paris. I visited it first than the Louvre. I have visited the museum twice the past 10 years. I'm coming back again this summer with my 8 year old daughter. I'll introduce her to Orangerie(as it's smaller and with Monet's famous water lilies) and Louvre(as the Mona Lisa is there and more well known for kids her age). We will definitely go back when she's more mature and have more understanding with art movements and style. I'll see if we have extra time(we are there 5 days with 3 day trips in the countryside) though as we enjoyed reading and watching Hugo Cabret and I always pictured out Orsay as the setting of the story.
I would love to show her the big clocks that Hugo was working on.
Hi Pearl, What a wonderful trip to experience with your daughter. Sounds like a magical time for you both. Hope it's full of amazing memories :)
Love, love this art gallery and your video. It's now on my to do list in Paris. The story of how the building saved and re-purposed is fascinating. Thank goodness
for people with vision and the tenacity to make sure this landmark of Paris did not become just another hotel!!
Here here! It would've been such a shame to lose this incredible building. I love to imagine the trains coming in and out.
I like this. Art and museum.
We love it too!
It is a stunning museum for sure. It has been so long since I have been, 1996. Fabulous building indeed. And yes an incredible collection of art. Wow it is crazy busy.
That's cool you were there in '96 - that wasn't too long after it first opened!
Just got back from Paris where I visited the Musee d'Orsay for first time. Absolutely overwhelming to see so many famous works of art in one place. Will definitely need to visit this wonderful museum again to try and take it all in.
❤
I'm so glad to hear that. It's a wondrous place and, yes, so much to take in. ❤️
It's the best Museum in the world to me. I used to be a Heritage professional, and so after I visited Paris and finished my Master's in the UK I returned to my own country, Portugal, and sent an application (in French of course) to Le Musée d'Orsay, my favourite Museum in the world. I couldn't even believe it when I got a beautiful letter from them, letting me know that I hadn't been shortlisted, but in the kindest most beautiful way. I cried just because I had received a letter from them haha And I swear it was just so beautifully written, acknowledging my fabulous experience and qualifications and all. I wasn't a perfect fit for the role, far from it, because my background was in Archaeology, not the Arts lol but I'd tried it anyway, 'cause I figured what the heck, what have I got to lose?! So I seriously wasn't expecting to get short listed, and was just really happy to know that the people who worked in my favourite museum in the whole world, were so wonderful, attentive, kind, professional, respectful and polite. I just love France, love Paris! I would visit it every year if I could. I have always been very happy in France. Visiting Versailles made me feel like a queen myself, and Orsay makes me feel like a 19th century Lady. The old country, of the Museums and palaces, just hosts you with such finesse and in such great style!! Truly wonderful pieces of heaven on earth some places are. I actually regretted having chosen Archaeology in Uni after I visited Paris. If only I had visited Paris and Orsay before going to University I would have definitely chosen the Arts, ah well, life. My sister chose Arts' Curation and abandoned her law BA in her 4th year, after visiting Paris lol She was still in time to do that. Left her law BA in Portugal and flew to London to Central Saint Martins. With a Master's in Public Archaeology and all it was a bit too late for me, after all the money that I'd just spent in London on it. C'est la vie.
Wow, thanks so much for sharing these stories! Sorry I'm just seeing them now to reply. Paris wields such influence and inspiration ❤️
Gorgeous.
In 1982, the Musée du Jeu de Paume was my favorite Paris museum. With the impressionist art moving from there in the later 80s, the Musée d'Orsay became my favorite. At first, I was skeptical that any venue could display the art as well as the Jeu de Paume, but the spacious and beautiful former railway station quickly won me over (including so much more than just the impressionist art). Thanks for creating this terrific video (and the others in your Paris series) -- it has been 20 years since I was last there; time for a return visit.
Straight to the point! Thank you!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks! We made a bunch of other videos about Paris if you'd like to see more. They're here: bit.ly/parisvideosplaylist :)
i like the architecture of the building and the clock, the ambience inside in the museum and the art gallery, looks interesting to visit! 😊
Hi Eileen ! I agree. Le musée d'Orsay is also my favourite ✨. Long time I couldn't go. I miss it a lot.
Hey Jasmine! Glad you agree - it's truly a wonderful place to visit. Hopefully we both get to go back. ❤️
Love the photography and knowledgable commentary------keep it up! We should all love Paris.
Thank you! The collection here is incomparable and the history of the building is fascinating. Thank goodness it wasn't torn down!
I haven’t heard of this museum BUT I’m glad I did now. I’m planning my first trip to Paris and I will have to add this to my to do list. I love that there is an app to take you through the museum.
Wonderful you're planning a trip to Paris! You're going to love it :) We've made other videos there (and more still coming) with more tips as you plan by the way: bit.ly/parisplaylist :)
I agree with you this is the most beautiful museum in the world. Both because the impressive arquitectural beauty of the building as well as the beautiful art collection it contains. 🇨🇵
It's the perfect building to house beautiful art 😍
We’re going there in spring!
How exciting! What else are you planning to do in Paris? We've made a bunch of other videos about the city if you're interested as you think about your upcoming trip - they're here: bit.ly/parisvideosplaylist Please have a pain au chocolat for me ;)
MAGNIFICENT
It truly is!
I'm guilty of only heading to the Louvre in Paris. That clock and view looks epic!! ⏲ Great tips on how to get the most of your visit!
Thanks! haha guilt isn't the right word because you can't go wrong with art in Paris! The Louvre is obviously incredible as well, just very different. Hope you can check our Orsay next time you're in Paris :)
Absolutely love your video contents! This museum had a tour in Singapore some 7, 8 years ago. I had the privilege to see most of the pieces shown in your video and my absolute favourite would definitely be Van Gogh's Starry Night Over the Rhone. I was so in awe when I saw it! Thanks for giving us such good videos! More flea markets if possible please 😍
Thank you! That's awesome they toured in Singapore - I didn't know that. I love Starry Night too ❤️I'm glad to know you liked the flea market video! We just posted one about other famous stores in Paris so hope you enjoy it too :)
Thanks so much for the fantastic Video💖✨️For my part I'm in love with Musée d'Orsay. Muack😍🥰😍 I just go there several times to visit and admire the creations of the Masters that I looooove, and spent the whole day.
Thank you! Happy you know you enjoyed this video. ❤️ And I agree! Easy to spend a whole day admiring :)
This is our favorite museum too! The Louvre is just a bit too big…Maybe it’s because we really like the Impressionists? The clock at the top makes for the best photos…and the cafe is good! Great video! Thanks for sharing!
I love the Impressionists too and, yeah, I also love the view to Montmartre through the clock. So pretty!
Will go thnanks for your advice...
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
I spent 4 mo in Europe in 1997. The musee was by far the best
That's high praise then! Thanks for sharing.
AAAGGGHH! Walked past so often on 2 trips to Paris, went to the Louvre, which was interesting but not exciting. Saw this vid and yelled at my dog, LOL. Next time it is on list, our whenever we can leave Australia again.😂
Bellissimo 💞
I consider myself very fortunate to have visited this museum in 2019 just before the pandemic. This is by far much better than the Louvre, and you have covered all. Including the palace like dining hall where we had lunch. Another lucky aspect is getting to see the special exhibits of Berthe Morisot. Would love to go again.
Sounds like you had a great time. Have you been back since or still hoping to?
Very vibrant and professional narration and comments. I have already subscribed your channel couple of minutes ago.👍👍👍
Thank you very much! I'm glad you found our channel :)
Wiunderful Video danke schön Tag heute
Danke!
Ah, what a beautiful video. So beautifully presented and so informative. Is there anything lovelier than Impressionism? I could never overload on it! And the building is equally interesting and beautiful! You're making a good case for going back to Paris!!
Thanks a lot, Linda! I love Impressionism too and there's something super cool about seeing art that you've seen reproductions of your whole life IN PERSON. Sometimes funny to see how much bigger/smaller the real thing is than you thought :)
@@EileenAldis So true!!! Seeing art in real life is a completely different experience, so much so that I've always felt that seeing a real work that you've always seen as a reproduction is like a seeing completely different work of art altogether. Amazing as photography and technology is, it cannot capture the energy of the real thing!!! I'm a huge fan of experiencing art first hand for just that reason.
@@lindalouwagie-neyens4692 True! Nothing can compare to the real thing, if you're lucky enough to get the chance ☺️
Great video! I've always wanted to visit Paris, but I only get one vacation each year and I have very close personal ties to people in Asia and Africa, and so I keep going back to places like Nepal, India, The Gambia. This time I need to visit India during January. Delta Airlines offered the best fare for the dates I need, and the layovers both ways are in Paris. So I thought, what if I make this a multi-city flight, rather than just round-trip? Turns out the difference in price was only a couple hundred bucks, so now I've got three nights in Paris on my way home from Delhi. After watching this video, I will definitely visit the Musee d'Orsay. Looks like I should plan to spend a day there.
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I liked your music added, the thumbs up and the wink too. Cute 😉!
I have seen some of the artists you featured when their works have been on tour in Chicago. I have an umbrella collection due to it, as I've boughten at each event. Pretty cool, and affordable.
I've also boughton Rick Steve's box set of Italy however, for a gift to my Mama.
Now to save, save, save and catch a flight, and a one way at that as have always wanted to do! Enjoy you two!! ❤🤗
Thanks, Gina!! I'm glad you liked those little touches at the end ;) Chicago has great art so that's cool you've seen exhibitions there. I love that it inspired an umbrella collection too. I had posters of Monet, Degas, and Van Gogh on my walls for a long time. So beautiful. Here's to savin' up and catchin' flights! 🙌✈️
@@EileenAldis Oui oui!! 🗼❤
Tout à fait l'accord !❤
❤️
Repurposed buildings are my favorite too! This place is absolutely stunning. Definitely recognized some artwork in here. I just discovered Rick Steve's free audio guides!! He's awesome.
Yeah, he's wonderful! If you love repurposed buildings you'd enjoy Taiwan! Not sure if you've seen our videos from there but there's a real emphasis on preserving history and repurposing spaces there :)
loved it and my best is Pissarro!
Great pick!
Thanks for the info, that building is beautiful im glad they didnt demolish it that would be a shame.
Yeah, I couldn't imagine it not being there today. Thank goodness that didn't happen! A lot of history and beauty would've been lost.
By far, my favorite Paris museum. Don’t miss James McNeil Whistler’s “Portrait of the Artist’s Mother,” by American artist.
❤my favorite too
wow 😊👍❤
Isn’t it amazing?! Love this place ✨🙌
I’m going to share your video with my preschoolers for distance learning. We studied Monet, VanGogh and Klimt so it will be great for them to see some of the great works we talked about. You didn’t show my favorite painting by VanGogh. It was the one called “Dr. Gachet’s Garden” .I also have a student whose favorite is “ Starry night Over the Rhône” which you did feature. He’ll love it!
Love the place . Being English and an art lover (taken a degree in Humanities before I moved to USA) my favorite painting which I had to write an essay on is by Rex Whistler who lived in England and it it Whistler's Mother or more correctly Arrangement in Grey and Black No.1. Really though I rate the Louvre slightly higher than M de O mainly because I prefer Classicism to Impressionism but to each his own
Wow amazing vincent van Gogh is one of my favorites and joan Miró.
Two amazing artists! I think you'd love this gallery then :)
I’m fortunate to live a train ride from Paris and visit all the art museums there frequently… but the Musee d’Orsay is my favourite. It is a big museum that somehow has the intimate feel of a small one. Their temporary exhibitions are exceptional (I just saw Rosa Bonheur, a fabulous animal painter who happened to befriend Buffalo Bill) and I am forever finding new works in the permanent collection that I never previously noticed or appreciated. Thanks for the video!
Hello! Thank you for your lovely comment. It is indeed lucky to live so close to Paris and be able to enjoy the temporary exhibitions as well. I agree that this museum has an intimate (almost cozy) feeling despite its size. Please continue to enjoy for all of us! :)
Heaven to me!
Gracias besos desde España
¡Gracias! Saludos a ti en la hermosa España 😘
@@EileenAldis gracias besos
Thanks for this nice video! I needed information about the museum for a school task so I found what I was searching for!
Hey Lea! I'm glad to hear that! Hope the school assignment went well ❤️
@@EileenAldis Yes, it went really well, thanks! :)
@@svenkrauter7319 Wonderful!
Ich war schon in Musee d'Orsay und mir haben persönlich die Bilder von den Katzen gefallen. Favorit war "Le Chat Blanc"
I've visited this museum many times and just love it. It's everything you say it is. However, there are some other museums in Paris dedicated to other topics. For example the Musée de Cluny, also known as the Musée National du Moyen Âge (middle ages) is spectacular in its own right, albeit with different subject matter.
Thank you for recommending another museum for us! Our "next time in Paris" list continue to grow. We've made other videos about Paris that will interest you as a fellow lover of the city. They're here if you'd like to check them out: bit.ly/parisplaylist I'd love to know what you think and hear any other suggestions you have. :)
This was my favorite as well. I remember walking into the main room where all the impressionist paintings were, after having been saturated by renaissance paintings in Europe, and just feeling this breath of fresh air. It was awesome
Marzenie....❤
Tak! Czy ty jesteś Polakiem?
I like the "baseball" mitt chair....oh Marc you look so comfy. I'd like to try it too.
haha he was very comfy ;) Nice to give your feet a break when you're on your feet for so long.
Awesome place- statute of Jean d arc and paintings of ballet girls
Yes! I love Degas too. 🩰
I was in Paris and Musee D'Orsay was on my list to see as was the Louvre. To be honest I love d'Orsay over the Louvre. Many of my favorite artists and Paintings. and in the d'Orsay museum so I would pick that over the Louvre
I think many people would agree as so many recognizable and much loved paintings are at d'Orsay. Of course the Louvre is incredible but also can be overwhelming as it's so large.
nice ! Never been there hope one day.enjoy Eileen
I hope so too! Highly recommend :)
@@EileenAldis :) thank you dear
I used to dream of visiting Paris because of the Eiffel Tower, but now, after learning more about the arts and humanities, and becoming an art lover myself, I'd say the things I'm looking for the most in Paris now would be to visit the Louvre Museum and Musee D-Orsay more than the Eiffel Tower, also the English bookstore, being also a bookworm myself.
I understand and that's great to hear. If you haven't seen our other videos, you may enjoy seeing some other places I think would interest you, including the Shakespeare and Company bookstore (a must stop for bookworms!). Our other Paris videos are here if you'd like to have a look: ua-cam.com/play/PLoYWok320A9bAC2EWxI5MQenbGo7eytvV.html For art, I would also highly recommend visiting this museum (huge Monet paintings): www.musee-orangerie.fr/fr
@@EileenAldis Oh, for sure! I'll check it out soon. Thanks for the recommendations, I appreciate it.
Edit: Also, yeah, I just took an interest at the Orangerie Museum now, being quite a fan of Claude Monet myself.
@@renatus20058 You'll love the Orangerie then!
A top-tier museum in the world...but as a huge fan of l'Opera the amazing cross-section model of Palais Garnier is stunning. My soul feels a timeless ease in Paris I never feel in the US. Past life??
Eileen...[ d'Orsay or Louvre?] they are too distinct in their purpose. d'Orsay takes 5 hours. The Louvre takes 5 days.
Perhaps a past life indeed! Paris connects with my soul as well, as I'm sure it does for many others lucky enough to visit. :)
Just a correction: Yes, musée d'Orsay used to be a train station, but it wasn't originally built for this purpose. It was actually a palace that burned down, and then they rebuilt it into a train station for the exposition universelle in France in 1900.
LOOOOOVE Musée dÓrsay and would chose it over Louvre anytime....the ambiance, the collections, the sheer awesomeness of the whole building makes it a pleasure to visit every time.
Maybe I'm a bit biased, because my second favorite art movement ( first being a shared places between surrealism and magical realism) is impressionism.
Impressionism has the ability to show movement in a still picture and to make people realize art is not only for the elitist, but for everybody to understand and enjoy.
Thank you so much for this amazing video...makes me want to jump on the TGV tomorrow and visit Paris.
Your passion for art is obvious and it's awesome! I love Impressionism too. I love how Van Gogh can paint the wind. The Louvre is incredible too, in its own way, but I also connect more with Orsay. The history of the building, and knowing it might've been lost forever, makes me love it even more ❤️
the Musee d'orsay looks amazing for the inside. When I watched the first few minutes I already wanted to jump on a plane to France to visit. It will be on my bucket list now when I am visiting France. It was an interesting fact that it was used as a post office in the second world war, that makes it even more interesting. Thanks for sharing
I like a lot its collection of "Art Nouveau" furniture...
Luckily, when I went it wasn't nearly as busy. I credit the collection with helping me have a better understanding and appreciation for the origins of the modern art movement. I really enjoyed some of the technically brilliant works that that were on the cusp of the change, that gave way, through the salon system, to work that I use to think was painted by near-sighted artists who lost their glasses. 😅
haha that's good it gave you a better appreciation for that kind of art! Lucky you if it wasn't busy when you were there. We waited in line but wasn't too bad. Well worth it! :)
😍
It will be so nice when countries are able to open up again once all of this current pandemic stuff is over with & people from around the world able to visit places like the Musée d'Orsay. All fans of it, will have "Van Gogh" there ( to borrow the pun that another did)(though I've heard some pronounce it more (phonetically: "Van Goff", i.e the British). If things work out & the world is able to open back up at some point not too far ahead, tons of people will be flocking back to there again to see all of the amazing sights in there & around Paris in general.
Love Musee D'Orsay. Not as crowded as the Louvre and so much of its art was almost lost during WWii.
Actually, nearly nothing was lost during WWII. The nazis seized some private Jewish collections, not the National one.
M'O is my prefered museum... for the former railways station architecture, for its permanent collections, for its temporary expositions, and it's at human size. And if you are here the first sunday of a month, it's free entrance, so be early and prepared to wait before entry ! The Louvres museum is great, of course, but so huge, you cannot visit it in one day, so sometimes, i choose to see just a part specific of it. That means you need days to visit it, and there's so many different things... it's i fact several museums in one place.
Glad you agree and excellent tip about being prepared for lines when it's free entry!
Best :))
I love this museum ❤️
Degas' La Petite Danseuse de Quatorze Ans is a favourite of mine. I had the good fortune to see a copy in a Rotterdam museum. Each copy is slightly different.
She is truly lovely. I didn't realize there was one in Rotterdam or would've visited when we were there :)
"La Petite Danseuse" is not only the sculpture of a young dancer. Today, people forget what it meant to be a young dancer at that time : it meant that you were poor, and that you will probably end up being the mistress of some rich man. What Degas created with this sculpture is a representation of an outcast, of a young girl whose destiny and fate are not hers. There is a famous painting by Degas showing what was on in the Opera : on this painting, you see all the young dancers and, in the gallery, old and rich men with hat watching at the girls. They are predators.

Mansão das artes.
Sou conduzido por entre as flores.
Uma circunscrição em tela.
Sou inspirado pelas artes.
Sou parte da arte.
Sou a arte!

The best painting in the museum is
“The birth of Venus” by William-Adolphe Bouguereau.
That's a beautiful painting 🖼

The problem with Musee d'Orsay is that it is always so damn crowded!
It certainly can be but I haven’t experienced that myself every time. Very popular!

One painting that I was puzzled by was Jesus with his disciples but half of them were naked. The only thing I could come up with was that it was a casual Friday.
