He backed off the throttle slightly to induce a bit of engine braking. Wheels on tarmac will brake harder then the ones on the grass, making the car lean back on track. Thats why he suddenly went a bit slower than the second guy he was just overtaking. Split second decision... masterfull driving.
Wow just lifted the throttle a little bit to keep the inside tyres on track keep gripping due to engine braking... thats why the guy he was overtaking cought up and paced him a bit until he was back on track and pushed it again ! He had the inside line and move was complete the next corner ! Split second decisions ! No wonder he's called a living legend !
