"This is a bespoke engraving, chosen by the client and it has then been created by our engraver. So, here we have two cock pheasants, which is fairly standard really when it comes to a game scene. Some clients may have their own dogs, or their wives, or their houses. But usually on a game gun it''s usually going to be a game bird of some sort."

I do find it strange whenever you see a try gun it is always a side by side they bring out never an under and over, seeing that they build more over and under guns these days. It is not very re assuring is it?
jas20per if your buying a Purdey or holland and holland it will most likely mean you have a substantial bank balance and income and it’s most likely for the practice of game shooting and many high paying game shoots will not allow any other gun than a side by side.

@@serverlan763 You're absolutely right. Eric Clapton, for example, bought a number of side by side guns from Purdeys, Holland & Hollands, Boss & Co, etc, then on a shoot one day he tried a friend's U/O and preferred it because the sights line up easier. So he sold his side by side collection and ordered U/Os from the same manufacturers. So overall, side by sides are probably the minority of gun orders.

@@oversteer46 You are so vulgar, they wouldn't even let you in the Purdey Shop. Also, you don't go on a "Hunt" with a shotgun, you go on either a "Drive" or a "Shoot". Even if you are after deer with a rifle, it's still not called a "Hunt", but "Deer Stalking". The only time the word "Hunt" might be used is for big game in Africa. Furthermore, it would be totally incorrect to serve cucumber sandwiches after a shoot because they wouldn't go with whisky or ale, which are the usual after shoot drinks.
