Thank you for commenting. You have just pointed out the exception to utilitarian philosophy. According to the theory of utilitarianism, individual happiness is equal to collective happiness. But the theory also says that spreading maximum happiness for maximum number of people is the aim of utilitarian philosophy. Hence letting one man die in the control room will ensure that the whole country will be able to watch IPL. Which means if compromising individual happiness ensures the maximum happiness for maximum number of people then utilitarian philosophy says the option which will ensure maximum happiness should be chosen
