I freaking love this song, and also this my favorite part of the movie.
Mine too :') .... you can tell that the mother is connected to the boy because when the boy is running and he is scared the mother can feel this fear as she looks up worried in that exact moment of the boys fear ... and then the boy can hear his mothers cello playing through the storm grate and we can tell by the look on his face he knows that this is "the music" that he's been searching for his entire life ....... but then he gets scared again and the mom feels it yet again, and it can bring a tear to one's eye to think deeply about this scene as it's really quite beautiful.

No offense. But his voice is very generic in the genre of pop rock/acoustic (insert genre). It's that high pitched pop star Adam Levene type voice. Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel have the same voice 🤣
