I no longer watch movies or even tv but when this came out, my grandparents were still alive. Grandpa was 18 and grandma was 16 when they got married. They already had two kids when grandpa was drafted. I adored this movie and this song and I will never be able to hear it or see it without thinking of them. They had 69 anniversaries together with the exception of his tour.
