I was 19 when Smallville first aired on our local tv channel studio 23. It was October 15th of 2022 and because of Smallville's songs like this... I knew then that this show will become unforgettable. I began to like all the soundtracks that smallville plays each episode. It hits differently. Bands like The calling and lifehouse songs were just a few examples that made the show heartwarming. And today, i am currently 41. And it's Dec. 15th, 2024. Thank God i am still here. Smallville season 1 will forever be my number 1 TV series of all time. It had an innocence and magic to it that I've never seen on another show. The other seasons were good (but progressively worse), but seaon 1 was just special. A beautifully shot, beautifully cast, beautifully crafted masterpiece.
I watched this show from beginning to end for the first time a few years ago and is still the best show ever. The music was always great too. I'm pretty sure this exact Lifehouse song was in one of the endings of an episode on season 1.
I recently became enthralled with Smallville having been a long time aficionado of the Superman saga from the graphic novels. With respect, while I applaud the original writers of Smallville expanding Lana Lang's role in Clark Kent's adolescence, later clumsy plot devices and complications stifled and abridged one of their seminal contributions to Superman; the star-crossed love story of Clark and Lana. Every man, from this universe or beyond, becomes Superman through the power of his first true love. The use of Lifehouse song Everything in the pilot episode was absolutely brilliant and truly is Clark and Lana's love theme.
