this was such a great show... It started super late, the opening band (anyone remember which band that was) got stuck at the border. I met this kid who had never seen Morbid Angel, he was super sad that he would miss them because he had to take the last bus to his house. I told him to stay and I brought him home after the concert!

Same here, this show doesn't get old. The whole band is great, but Steve is definitely crushing it extra hard on this one. So intense! I saw them open for Pantera in 2001, and the intensity they put out is just amazing. Steve is for sure their best vocalist.
Invocation of the Continual One is without a doubt one of the best songs in the history of not only Death Metal but in the history of Metal in general, glorious 🍻🤘

Yeah, that's really all that can be said about this set, just amazing. Really looking forward to seeing Tucker back with MA on the upcoming tour - hopefully they're going to play tracks off of Formulas.
it's weird to say, but after all the years, they were my favorite line up. Loved formulas. Everyone hated it back in the day, but it was awesome and still is a classic.
+Me And My Shadow Totally agree. It took a few listens to fully appreciate amongst the chaos. That was the first time I saw them live too and they completely blew me away.
@@Mil0311 Yes, that and he was among the early bunch of drummers to use bass drum triggers. He also picked up double bass technique very quickly while in Terrorizer.
here's the thing: you'll never experience anything this good as this. I think it's time to give up now, watching this video might be the highpoint of your life
You can also try to watch Gorguts 1998 Obscura. It might be another highpoint. But i gotta say this show was insane and sound is good enough to listen to

at first I was jealous of people who got to see this live, but ... I don't think I've got what it takes to listen to that single MIDI click-drum sound, triggered 100 times a second, for over an hour
I'd you catch them on their upcoming tour this February/March, they're gonna play the Vincent stuff. They're going on tour with Cannibal Corpse or Immolation, depending on the date.
I saw them with Cannibal Corpse. They played more old stuff on this recent tour than they did in this video. God of Emptiness, Blasphemy, Unholy Blasphemies, Abominations, and some more i can’t remember. they ended with Blood on My Hands,
To me ....Dave, Trey Erik,Pete are Morbid Angel....That's my opinion..for what it's worth....I was at this show and it was excellent and the next tlme I saw them still with Tucker,it sucked !!!!!!!!! It's a crying fucking shame that the One's would have so that Trey and Dave were at oddsand then the loss of Rutan but hey!!! they are still a band and their new album fucking shreddzzz !!!!1 And one very good thing aboot Rutan's departure is that we now have Hate Eternal !!!! Horn's Up High Fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to politely disagree with you there. In your opinion Steve is better and that's fine but "best" is subjective. I personally think David is the better vocalist for morbid angel but again that's just my opinion.
I think David Vincent is (was) more charismatic and distinctive. His vocals on Covenant are basically death metal perfection. Tucker has deep and brutal growl but is more "standard". Nevertheless, I think FFttF is the best Morbid Angel album. His studio vocals were the only a little bit lackluster part; however, he's got much better on a following G album. Besides, he sounds fucking powerful & almighty here. And looks badass.

98-04 with Steve (and Jared Anderson when he filled in) were the most powerful MA live performances. Crushing
Same here, this show doesn't get old. The whole band is great, but Steve is definitely crushing it extra hard on this one. So intense! I saw them open for Pantera in 2001, and the intensity they put out is just amazing. Steve is for sure their best vocalist.
howd you download it and put it on spotify?
Steve Tucker ........ it's like a viking invading unknown lands ...... the best frontman and singer in MA history !!
Invocation of the Continual One is without a doubt one of the best songs in the history of not only Death Metal but in the history of Metal in general, glorious 🍻🤘
The Eric Rutan-Steve Tucker era was great in it's own right
Humphrey Augustus Anything with Erik Rutan is great
Imagine if Derek Roddy played in the Gateways era
Indeed. Still happy I got to see them twice during the Vincent/Azagthoth/Brunelle/Sandoval era tho! Got them to sign my vinyl copy of Altars too!
