- Here is a little flight and an example of how the Brain2 App works with the Spektrum Ix12. I really like how user friendly this Brain2 is. The performance is on point with default settings, and the head gain turned down from 31 to 25. I am using the stock Fusion 360 Hobbywing speed control with the Brain2 electric governor utilizing the yellow rpm wire. This allows me to set and forget my headspeeds. My headspeeds are 2800, 2950, and 3150. I have spun it as fast as 3300, but that's a little crazy for me. I have picked 325-380mm blades in the wizard menu. This Brain2 app is awesome, but even easier is the usb plug to update easily with a computer, and see settings very large on screen for us old dudes. The new cyclic servos are KST X12 508's. I am still using my stock Spektrum tail servo. Helicopters are a hobby. I tinker all day and night with these helis. They are about user preference and originality. Part of this hobby is to support the hobby and try new things. Modify your heli. Try new things. See what's out there. Just have fun and live it. Helis for life!

I use one up to 360 size. 480 heli gets 2 and all my 700’s have two.

Hi Justin. Great Flying as always Brother! Question? How did you install the Brain/iKON APP on your Spektrum Radio? I have it installed on my Cellphone and I can make adjustments in the Wizard through Bluetooth. Do you have the Wizard Downloaded on your Spektrum Radio? Can I install it on my DX8?

Hi Larry, the IX12 is an Android based system. It has Bluetooth and WiFi and operates like a cell phone. So I have installed the Brain2/IKon2 app via Google Play store. It was about 5 dollars American to download to my android system in my IX12. . From there, I connect through Bluetooth by pairing like usual. So, the DX8 is not as easy. I believe OntheSnap channel can explain better, but you can use the new 4651t telemetry receiver plugged into channel 3 on your Brain2 and set the receiver type to SRXL2 in the Brain. Then, you auto configure your telemetry, and somehow you can get a Lua script to show up on your DX8. I have never done it myself, but I think OntheSnap has a video using a DX9 and the old 4649t receiver. He answers questions too. Tell him CoeShow sent you. Haha. He knows me. You may be able to open your Brain program and click on manuals up on top. Look through that. I think it may show it.

Justin, are you running a KST tail servo also? I just replaced my cyclics with the 215s, but wasn’t sure if I should use one on the tail. I see the DS213 was discontinued.
I am only using KST X12 508’s on the cyclic. The tail servo is the spectrum one. The stock one that comes in the Fusion 360. 3065 I think.

You mention in the video title that you have KST servos in your Fusion 360. Did you replace just the stock spectrum servos, or did you replace both the FBL and servos? - I vaguely remember hearing something about them being matched and tuned specifically for the Fusion 360,....I'm having a hard time ordering the stock Spektrum cyclic servos from HH they have been on backorder status for almost 3 months now, tired of waiting. I'd love to know what model number of KST servos you are using in your 360. I've learned so much from watching your videos. Many thanks!!!
Hi, I will edit now. I forgot to mention the KST servos are x12 508’s. They are at Amain Hobbies for about 32 bucks each. I only changed the cyclic servos. I still use my Spektrum tail servo. Any time you change servos no matter what the brand, they need to be centered for the flybarless unit, which means learning the program and using the sun trim menu. I have no idea what the KST servos will do with a Fusion 360 6250hx. With a Brain2 flybarless system, I can pick every setting using a Wizard that walks you through the program. You can visually see the servos you pick, and how to trim them. To me, it’s much more user friendly than most. Plus it flies amazing if you follow some easy instruction. You need to know basic terms and how the mechanics operate though. It is a helicopter ya know. They always need a tune here and there. With a Brain2 I run the KST servos at 1520us and 333hz. The Spektrum tail is 1520 and 333hz also. The 6250 will run them, but it needs to be updated to the open firmware and a 4651t receiver must be used after the update. It’s kind of a mess.
Or just change the servo gear sets in your Spektrum 3055 servos. Or 3050’s. It’s easy, and realistically it’s only one gear, the output shaft gear that gets stripped. 4 screws on the bottom dude. Take a picture of the gears with your cell phone so you don’t forget the order. Simple. And it’s like 4 dollars per servo.
I use KST ds215mg servos, you can just take out the Spektrum ones and put these in. Make sure to use firm servo arms like the Goblin 380 ones. Using different servo arms will result you having to adjust the AFR settings only via forward programming.

So do the the gains stay the same even when you change flight mode or head speeds? I was going to try to set up the banks switch with my flight modes but it said that was not recommended
Dude, headspeeds and pitch curves come from switch B ( flightmode switch) 3 Banks are on Switch E for Flying styles and head gain. Go to Flying style wizard page 13. Move your switch E if you have a DX8 or greater. It is already functioning. It will illuminate Green in the Bank that your switch position is in. Bank 1, 2, or 3. I use bank 1 at 65% agility 25% gain, bank 2 is 70% agility 25% gain, bank 3 is 75% agility 25% gain. Only the feel changes with the bank switch for me. You can also change the roll and pitch rates in the banks if you want to. Set all of your Banks. Don't cross 6250hx instructions with Brain.
