I rather enjoyed these games due to the simplicity and playability on the psp. I loved long road trips playing from start to finish. As an adult though, I don’t think I could sit down and enjoy them like I used to. I also agree with the ratchet aspect, they definitely could’ve gone a different route with him in this game. Great video!
The rhythm section in the casino is worse than difficulty spikes in certain R&C games such as Planet Siberius in GC, inside the Apogee Space Station in ToD and the snowy planet (I forgot the level names but it’s at the near of the end of the game) in All 4 One. Edit: The rhythm section is the only part that I’ve never got passed and gave up on when I was younger.

I think it's a fair game. Even the treehouses/museums are great check them out. Size matters had the armours better than Rift Apart, the Lemmings Gadgebots in the Clank arena I like. The Clank and Ratchet Luna part is a great call back even if not the same, the Technomotes as if fairies that make all the tech or whatever at first is odd but works and the cloning your protagonist because you can't win is very silly but still fits the universe, even the lost all weapons thing I don't mind it's interesting being limited for that short time, the races are awkward but still builds on more than Ratchet 1 started and on what Ratchet 2 races were, inside Clank is cool, not the most fun level but it's still cool just like going inside any character type of levels their brain their body whatever, they experimented quite a bit. They made a short adventure on a handheld it's a weird game but it's fine enough. Secret Agent Clank tries to have its own ideas, the wrench abilities, the hoverboard and rhythm are too long (stealth is a fair idea but long and basic) the rhythm isn't even on point with the music (sure Tyrraguide wasn't to music either), the hoverboard moments are fine enough and something different for Clank, Gadgebots are like Tokobot another PSP game (made years earlier) with stacking them but it goes further with these formations, the arenas are Ratchet than Clank arenas which I mean sure but for a both sides story perspective it's fair then why he is in this situation, a how the prison life is/seeing old foes is fair. It isn't that relevant but it's a fine detail. It makes sense it's too much and likely padding for sure. Then again I always never know how far of too much experimenting or too consistent and getting boring if the core isn't storing enough but for Ratchet games I don't know how far of that fine line. The thing I find interesting is they have Clank and Ratchet weapons but Rift Apart can't even do that. What effort and world building right there for a handheld title that the big console one doesn't. Or a different enough playing character (Rivet is fine but her gameplay isn't worth it for what possibilities of this dimensional change it's like saying why bother going to Bogan they make the same weapons at Megacorp and have this and that from Gadegtron in Solana or same with Grummelnet, it's just nice to see but oh well they could have halved the weapons per character or something. I get shared bolts and weapons but it's just not the same as more effort put in. Characters need more than story and for AAA quality sure I am over expecting but I mean if the old games were done in short times with some staff or even Song of the Deep their metroidvania I would assume they can but got to be cinematic forget the gameplay it's good enough sigh. Times are different but eh their too standardized and weak these days). Multiple characters is always a Ratchet and Clank thing (more than Jak and Daxter for sure) even if Qwark moments are odd but it's Qwark so it's supposed to be silly, the Ratchet 1 (bomb glove opens rock wall or boxes kind of logic) weapons used like the vine flower one or the flame thrower are cool to see. It's a fine game. The story is weird for sure but the gameplay ideas are really cool. I think people don't actually pick out the good ideas, point to the PS2 ports or just that their spinoffs and go eh my mind is made up. They are fine games not perfect but still but some interesting elements in them. Better than 2016 that had an identity crisis of old and new formula not working well together and Rift Apart is future saga ideas remixed the game pass. Too much Tools not enough of the good that Crack in Time actually did. It's still interesting to see that PS2 era experimentation and silliness then the future saga story and direction we keep seeing and this cinematic angle that these game Devs aren't good at and they feel like bad imitations but got to do it sigh..kk
Hey man and thanks for the insight! I still have yet to play Rift Apart so I cannot comment on that. Regarding the multiple character thing I had just came off Ratchet: Deadlocked where its only Ratchet and because the game was titled Secret Agent Clank my mind was expecting only Clank so that's definitely a fault of mine for having expectations going right in. I appreciate the game for what it's worth but I was hoping for more Clank segments in general as it was refreshing to play with him and his own set of weapons/tools for once.
The game was fun, I wouldnt give it a high rating but it was still fun. Qwarks nonsense in the game was humerous, I have his opera song stuck in my head.
Why do people dislike size matters simple 1. The story sucks 2. The camera sucks 3. The psp controls sucks 4. The weapons are so weak that you have a better chance of killing them with a wet tissue 5. Spongey enemies 6. The last three bosses especially the last one are the worst 7. Everything cost too many bolts 8. The only way to get bolts are from the horrible hoverbike races and clank arenas that award you with pennies the second time around 9. Those footsteps in the cutscene before the final boss sound so awkward 10. Terrible checkpoints And that final level along with the boss can go die
