The original Spyro 3 on the PS1 was the first game I ever played, and it truly introduced me to gaming. It remains one of the best experiences I've had
I love this remaster as much as the Crash remaster. It was tons of fun to get all 3 plats. The art and environments were peak, and the animations were almost Pixar quality like Sonic Unleashed. Oh and, in case you didn't know, that superflame powerup in Spyro 2 isn't just a trophy. You can start a new playthrough with it and it's so satisfying to blast everything that gave you a hard time the first time, especially Gulp.
It was all so well done, and the Crash Trilogy is definitely on my backlog! And I did not know that, that’s definitely a neat feature haha. Might have to go back in there and see for myself!
@@bigjohnbibel Yeah, it's kind of the way most people cheese the "Gulp without taking damage" skillpoint/trophy cause he's been buffed tremendously from his PS1 version of the fight (he leads his shots so you have to juke him all the time). Having Superflame allows you to just blast him from anywhere so you can focus on dodging but still tough. Though one caveat to the superflame..... it's PERMANENT.... you can't ever turn it off (I think a cheat code lets you but I don't remember), even if you do a new game of Spyro 2 or do a new file, it's still active. Another thing that would've made things easier, If you press the L button, Sparx will point to where the nearest Gems are. This ability was one of the 4 unlockable abilities in Spyro 3's Sparx levels in the original, but in this game, like the box counter of Crash Bandicoot, you now start off with the ability in all 3 games, making 100% MUCH easier when you're combing for the last few gems you missed.
I love how that's not even the "correct" way of getting to the one wizard in Wizard Peak, yet I had no idea that using the Supercharge also worked! Gonna have to try that on my next playthrough! I love the Spyro games SO much, so it's great seeing other people getting the Platinums and enjoying it just as much as I do! Great video!! 💜
I used to buy the game for people on Twitch just so I could watch them attempt this, and you're telling me I get to watch it for free? Earned that Sub from me!
If you do decide to play Spyro 2 again, little tip for taking no damage in Gulp refight. Get the infinite superflame powerup in Dragon Shores first. Then, you can just flame flame flame, and he's down easy.
@@bigjohnbibel Hehe as I said, you don't have a choice. The Superflame is infamously PERMANENT so you'll always have it, but it does make New Game+ feel like new game+. You'll just never be able to get his regular breath back (I think you can use a code to remove it but you have to look that up)
Pro-Tip for Treetops, follow the thieves the next time you feel compelled to get everything, they quite literally guide your path to the standalone islands
Great video, as always! Still can't find anyone on UA-cam doing platinum runs for Dark Cloud 1 & 2. I finally got the platinum for 1 a few years ago, but I feel like 2 is impossible. Which makes me very depressed as it's one of my favorite games.
the Spyro Reignited trilogy was so fun, they were the first 3 plats i got when I first got a ps4. Spyro 1 and Spyro 2 are easily my favourites of the 3, i do like 3 but i never had much personal attachment to it like i did with the first 2. Ripto's Rage was the one i played the most on the ps1/ps2, it just felt so much more magical and whimsical to me and was a lot of fun, especially Autumn Plains and Winter Tundra.
I love this remastered trilogy so much like the crash bandicoot one, the games are so fun and amazing w Toys for Bob developers and w for you because you platinumed them.
@@bigjohnbibel I was thinking the same thing. 8 hours average for all three games isn't too bad though, but yeah, this is one of those trilogies where each game is bigger and longer than the previous. It's kind of fortunate you didn't have to 100% spyro 3 to get all the trophies cause some of the dragon egg missions are brutal (coughLostFleetcough) and like the other two games, there's a whole nother final stage to complete for 100%ing the game. Still recommend going through it. it's still fun (except Lost Fleet.... if you can't tell I HATE that stage.... 2 words: "Skateboard Race" That took 8 hours of my time ALONE to get the hang of and it's a pure skill thing, can't look up a guide to cheese it. Just gotta get REAL good with the skateboard....TWICE.)
@@MarioMastar I originally thought that each game would take 8 hours to 100%, but I’m honestly glad I was wrong haha. So much good content in all of the games!

Not gonna lie, when I first did that stage years ago, we were so stuck on the trolley (me and my friends) we just NEVER beat it.... then as an adult it only took a few tries, but it's brutally unforgiving if you mess up.
What’s your favorite memory from the Spyro games?
@bigjohnbibel I have to go with the legacy of spyro trilogy is a nostalgia and spyro heroes tail my childhood game

@bigjohnbibel They are fantastic ARPG Dungeon crawlers, and the first games made by the dev Level 5. I can't say enough good things about them.

I've been streaming this lately! Glad to see Spyro getting the love he deserves.
He definitely deserves it!
Shouting out the playstation store "sales" while this game is included with gamepass is actually hilarious 😂😂

Maybe one day!
Hell yeah dude I already got the platinum trophy of this game trilogy
Very nice!
Easily done, did it myself on release. With listening to all dialogue and leaving it on in the bk while doing other bits.
It’s definitely possible, so glad one of us did it haha
good video!
Thanks!
You're not going to platinum in 24 hours when you get to Spyro 3. the dragons you have to shoot down are cancerous.
