Solo Hammock Camping On An Island | Crua Hybrid Hammock

- We will need the canoe for this solo trip so we can paddle out to a remote island where we will overnight camp for the first time in a hammock! The trip will consist of a 2-mile paddle. The first mile will be up a creek to the lake opening. After that, we have another mile to get to the island. Winds are always rough in this area but hopefully, it will be smooth paddling.

I like both but definitely lean towards Team Hammock. That was a pretty neat hammock honestly!
Ya I think it’s hard to choose just for the fact that camping can be done in so many different ways. Not every situation will be the same so tents and kits change to accommodate conditions 👍 I’m happy with either haha
Tent by far!!! Hammocks are mainly for sleeping and maybe reading. You can fo both in a tent plus more!!!

When I was 10 years old, my family and I stayed in Polson, MT on the southern shore of Flathead Lake. After we got settled in to our room, we went swimming. The owner of the Motel we were staying in came out and told us we better take a shower shortly after swimming or we would start itching. I thought she was nuts, but we did anyway...just to be sure. YOU are the first person to mention this phenomena since then. I was starting to think it was just an old wives tale. We live in the Midwest and don't have to deal with that.
And that's how I believe faith and trust in God should be. No politics. Just grateful for the food and beauty He surrounds us with. Just enjoying His perfect world and birds and animals. That's why like the Jim Reeves song 🎵The Garden inspires me cos while the dew is on the roses, I know He walks with me and He talks with me. Just so enjoy your adventures. They bring peace into our lives. Enjoy!

What I like best about these videos is there's no asking to "like my channel". No mention of how to become a member for x amount of dollars. This is truely refreshing. Rattlesnake Island, been there many times. Used to be a quiet lake, but the last 5 years it’s always full of kayakers and little boats on the weekends, no place to park. During the weekdays though..👍🏻

So I have to say that, I have not tried hammock camping. I mostly sleep on my side or my stomach, so I don't feel like hammock camping would work for me. But that one seems like I could possibly use it. But I really LOOOVE your videos because of what you say "Camp your camp"! I LOOOVE that. Everyone has a different style. Amongst the people that I know "I'm extreme", according to them. But I don't feel that I'm even close. Anyways I love your videos and I love how you say "camp your camp"! Thank you 😊

I have been to Washington before, BEAUTIFUL STATE. I delivered lobster there with a friend of mine. He has a 53 ft truck that he drives for a living. Apples to Maine, lobster to Washington. That woulda sucked.............Priceless moment... so many of us just like you been there in that moment. My moment was realizing I i was to big for the cooler lid and it broke and almost fell backwards.. I was holding my steak and rice bowl but the steak was chopped up ground hog.

It was definitely full of lots of cardio haha! Sometimes I wonder if all the angles are worth my time.. lol I believe it makes for a better viewing experience so I do it even though it tuckers me out haha
@@BaumOutdoors You should make it higher, at least 10 feet off the ground just in case a tiger or a bear comes by that way you will be out of reach while you were sleeping. LOL. That's what I did.

I've actually never spent the night in a hammock. I'd like to try it though, it sure did look comfy. The views from that island were magnificent, I'd love to set and have coffee with that view also. WOW JUST BEAUTIFUL!

When going alone i switched from tent to hammock many years ago, way more comfortable, wont feel any rocks or stick plus aint bothering to find leveled place. Now have almost same model and its tones better then regular saggy hammock. When going with daughter (5 years old) still taking tent since two person hammocks sucks.
They got a tent with a blow up lnsulation that really looks good to me,since We're in the dead of winter. Enjoyed your video, scenery was beautiful. Your breakfast was lacking some toast. Looking forward to seeing whats next.

I became a full time hammock camper after moving to Texas from Washington state. Down here it’s the only way to stay cool camping, not to mention we have fire ants down here!

Hammock, by far. Even in the colder months, I prefer the comfort of the hammock. I sleep better on the hammock than I do in a bed most nights, if that tells you anything.

I have a early generation Crua hammock, very comfortable, but the suspension needs some improvements. Looks like they have addressed any and all of my thoughts on the suspension. May have to upgrade my Crua to the new version. I also have a new Haven XL, now that is a comfortable hammock! If you are new hammock camper, welcome to the hang!

I like the idea of the hybrid hammock/tent. Don't know if I could sleep in a regular proper hammock; I've stretched out in one camping with other people. I live in Eastern Oregon Black Bear and Cougar country I would feel like a wrapped up midnight snack for the local wildlife for sure, a Bear Burrito if you please. Too claustrophobic for me. The Crua Hybrid is more up my alley. Thanks for another great video and gear review.

Type 1 diabetic here who would LOVE your recipe for the Garlic butter steak with zuc noodles.
Garlic Butter Steak Bites W/ Lemon Zucchini Noodles
Ingredients:
1 Steaks of your choice cut into small cubes (Sirloin, NY, Ribeye)
2 medium zucchini, spiralized
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/4 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon minced parsley
1/2 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Marinade:
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon Sriracha
Fresh cracked black pepper
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Directions:
1. Cut steak into small cubes.
2. Make your marinade (soy sauce, olive oil, hot sauce, pepper, and lemon juice) Place ingredients in a bowl and add the steak bites. Mix well and marinate for 15 minutes.
3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Remove steak bites from the marinade. Keep remaining marinade for later.
4. Place the steak bites in the skillet in a single layer. Cook steak bites for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until steak bites are golden brown.
5. Once steak bites are golden brown, add 2 tablespoons butter and garlic to the skillet; cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring to coat the meat in the sauce. Remove the steak bites to a plate and set aside.
6. In the same skillet, add butter, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, beef broth, and remaining marinade juices. Bring to a simmer and allow to reduce for 2-3 minutes, stirring regularly.
7. Add the zucchini noodles and cook for two to three minutes. Make sure to toss noodles to ensure an even cook. Add parsley to zucchini noodles, then allow the juices to reduce for one minute. Add the steak bites back to the pan and reheat for another minute. Enjoy!
