  • I found some great sign 2 days in a row while hunting and old stand just outside of a gravel pit, and was able to harvest a nice buck with fixed blade, cut on contact broadheads. Check out @Ranch Fairy's channel for more lethal arrow tips.

    Awesome hunt! It’s so cool when everything lines up perfect. My son and I had a day like that 3 years ago, we still reminisce about it. Thanks for taking me along and congratulations on harvesting a fine PA buck.

      Thank you! I do my best. Working on some other videos. I shot an elk in Wyoming in September, but the SD card with the first half of the hint will not read. Still working on getting the data off of it.

    Awesome vid; thank you for posting this. That's about the same place that I used to hit my deer too, and I'm trying move the point of impact closer to the vital-v ( following the RF as well ). They seem to go down quicker with those scary sharp COC heads, and quicker when they have blood coming out of the mouth/nose.

    • @NobleSavageOutdoors
      @NobleSavageOutdoors  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the support. I completely agree, the shot would have been better a bit more forward. Like RF says, it's a plan B setup. It will bust through a shoulder where the mechanicals with punch points won't come close. I'm definitely glad I switched.

    I am not into bow hunting as it is not legal in my country, but I could see excitement and emotions so this kind of hunting must be very exciting.
    You have definitely done your homework😊

    A well made video.

      Yes bow hunting is a roller coaster of emotions sometimes, but that's what makes it so rewarding. Thank you for the compliments. I do try to research everything and be as ethical as possible when taking an animal. I appreciate the support from so far away!

      Hi Jacob.
      No bow hunting allowed in Norway as we speak. Has been up to consideration by the lawmakers recently, but turned down.

      @@Kjell_H that’s very stupid for no bow hunting. Wonder what their reasoning is? It’s unethical? A well tuned bow with good arrows puts animals down fast and none of the wasted blood shot meat around the wound

    Big bodied 2 1\2 which you can be proud of. Liked your video, but I have to tell you that they will still run hit with a cut on contact broadhead. That's the only head I've ever used a two blade head and they all ran !!

    • @NobleSavageOutdoors
      @NobleSavageOutdoors  2 роки тому

      I can absolutely agree they can and will still run with cut on contact, but not like they do with mechanicals. As a general statement, they don't feel cut on contact at impact as much. Thanks for the support!

      It is actually from a local archery supply shop. They designed and manufactured it in house and it is the only place you can find it. I have looked around for other options and this is the most durable, steady, and versatile one I have found still. www.hphuntinggear.com/HPHuntingAccessories4-Bow-Stabilizer-With-Camera-Mount.html

    Once they're 3&1/2 years old, the meat gets nasty gamey during the pre-rut and the rut. The body on that deer was plenty big enough to feed a family for months. Great hunt. Deer aren't spooked with regular normal man sounds around our even people walking through their stomping grounds. It's when man is invisible to them and the scent populates in one area that they know danger is nigh.

    • @NobleSavageOutdoors
      @NobleSavageOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutley. We are still eating and enjoying this deer. That's what I've come to realize also, it has so much to do with scent.

      @@NobleSavageOutdoors I'll tell ya, I've killed almost 100 deer wth a bow and arrow and have killed a half dozen trophy bucks. I'll only take a large buck early season or very late season. The mature monarchs are almost always hiding right under your nose, literally. They have a very small home range and don't mind living and roaming where there's a lot of activity of man, but they've learned to remain mostly nocturnal. The rut and incoming low pressure systems bring em out during the daytime, but I stopped hunting them because you end up passing on so much delicious meat and it takes a lot of different strategies. Some guys hate me for being a meat hunter, but everyone has their own choices to make. Just a side note too. The absolute worst evils I've ever encountered by other hunters were all trophy hunters. They sacrifice so much to get a wall mount. They sacrifice their families, their wealth, their friends and they live in complete misery with no peace and much conflict. I had one sabotage my 12 year old son's tree stand, which could've killed or paralyzed my son. Almost all of them will pretend to be friendly and nice and relational until you're hunting the same area they are, then you become their enemy. Stay cool, stay peaceful,, enjoy the hunt and treat others the way that you want to be treated and God will bless your time and add no sorrow to it. Rejoice in the provision of the Lord!

    • @NobleSavageOutdoors
      @NobleSavageOutdoors  2 роки тому

      I can agree with a lot of what you said. I consider myself to be a little of both. I enjoy the entire process of harvesting, butchering, and eating the meat. But I also enjoy putting down trophies because of the pure challenge to it. As with anything in life, there must be a balance, and I think the key is being able to truly enjoy what you are doing. I would be willing to bet those evils are committed by people with underlying issues. Trophy hunting can bring those underlying issues to light very quickly in some people. But I've certainly met plenty of very helpful and unselfish trophy hunters who just love the chase and sharing the experiences with those who are willing to put the time and effort in. Thanks for the food for thought, I really do appreciate it and best of luck to you.

    You gotta love hunts like that; the deer were moving. As of typing this I'm already looking forward next season. Hunting season flys by in WV.
    Edit: I cant believe he went 200 yds and bled so little! When you gutted him where did you find the most damage? You must had just missed his lungs, since the blood was darker in color and he went so far.

    • @NobleSavageOutdoors
      @NobleSavageOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      Absolutely, it was a blast. I did double lung him, but the shot passed through the rear of both lungs. As you move backward in the lungs, the blood vessels get smaller and less frequent. That is my best guess as to why he was able to make it that far. It must have just been how he was standing because the entrance and exit wounds on his hide still appeared to be farther forward than what the internal damage showed.

      They don't run like when they feel the mechanicals slap them on the side as they open (at least in my experience). Razor sharp, cut on contact are the way to go.
