    A little bit about me: My story is one of abuse, addiction, healing and redemption. God can redeem any hurt we face and truly give beauty for ashes. I have a heart for abuse victims, those struggling with addiction or recovery (of any kind), any anyone facing a hurt, habit, or hang up (well, that's pretty much all of us!). At age 12, I was groomed for sex by a trusted church leader. For years I struggled with low self-worth, anxiety, depression, and a pornography addiction. But as I became brave enough to vocalize the things I secretly struggled with (we're only as sick as our secrets), the light began to flood the darkness, and I now know a freedom that I had never experienced before. My favorite part of recovery is “When you make it to the other end of the fire, you carry buckets of water back in for those still battling the flames.”
    There is a little bit of something here on this channel for everyone! I'm a huge Disney fan and collector. I do unboxing videos on Disney boxes, lifestyle subscription boxes, customer return pallets, product reviews, just sharing life and more! You can find videos of my artwork as well as music. And for more of a heart to heart conversation, head over to my "real talk" playlist.

    Those are beautiful! I've been doing cross stitch for almost 40 years. My best advice is to start small. It's an easy skill to pick up, but very time consuming. It's easy to get bored or frustrated when you don't see results as quickly as you think you should. Starting small lets you get the feel of it while also giving you the satisfaction of finishing. I've always done counted, so I imagine it's slower because you're always counting stitches and going back to look at the pattern. I'll have to try the stamped ones and compare.

    I learn to cross titch during the pandemic, because in-house quarantine I needed something to do. It's very relaxing and the more you do it the more confidence you get. I started with printed kids. I'm doing unprinted kids. I love it, welcome to the cross titch world. ❤

      They may have sent you the wrong thing. I ordered a counter kit but the the paper pattern was for a stamped kit so I had to reach out to them for fixing it

    I've got one I'm working on, which is like an English cottage in spring, with a little wooden bridge and pond. I've been working on it for over a year now, and I adore it. I've been using a embroidery hoop which helped me out a lot in ease of working and making it in sections. Mine's a 14 count , 47 cm by 32 cm in which is the design size. I love it so much.. So I didn't exactly start out small for my first one, but I keep saying to myself, 'it's a marathon, not a sprint' doesn't matter how long it takes. As long as you have fun doing 🙂

    The printed ones are definitely for beginners. When I started many years ago they only had counted. But as someone who has done them for a long time. I’ve gone to printed so many times did I make mistakes counting and had to tear it apart. So much easier with printed.😂 good when multitasking. Never forget where you left off.

    Gorgeous kits! I need to order the Depp one but will change out some of the colors. The UNstamped xstitch is actually eaaier than you think because they already grid-ed the fabric for you!

    I’m a cross stitch-aholic.
    Make sure you get all of your stitches going in the same direction. My bottom stitch goes from lower left to upper right and the top stitch goes the other way.
    When I started 35 years ago the thread wasn’t separated.
    Use a straight edge like a ruler to keep your place

    Make sure you get an embroidery hoop to put your work in it will make it so much easier to keep the tension of your stitches the same. And if it’s something you are going to continue doing a magnetic board that helps keep your place on the pattern so you don’t get lost.

    Those kits look awesome, I'm pretty sure that once you gain confidence you could do the counted cross stitch but you take it a bit at a time I learned to cross stitch at school about 8 years old your work dosent have to be perfect it's about doing something that you enjoy, I hope you enjoy this new hobby I find it relaxing and love making things that I like to look at. Good luck

    They do have great deals on kits. Also have where you can do personalized ones. I just did this for the holidays a d they come out very nice. Well this video was 8mths ago, but for next time I advise not get some with so much black backrounds as they pick up dust easily. I just finished a 26×22". Also for me I can't do counted Cross stitch, and I have to do 11ct. Which makes the project much larger. Thanks for sharing all those kits.

    Email or reach out to the company and ask if they can send you a pdf pattern for your castle pattern. Can put in on a tablet /phone and blow it up to a 10×10 square. It will be so much easier and way easier to read the pattern. No it's not a stamp but it will be way easier and less intimidating!
    Remember one stitch at a time and 1 10×10 at a time. You've got this! 🙂

    Hi, I’ve been using these kits for a couple of years, along side counted ones.
    The printed Aida can be quite stiff. So if you scrunch it up and twist it ..it softens the fabric and sits in a hoop a bit easier…
    Happy stitching..

    Yeah, I just checked. They do not have the license to be selling ANY Disney products as they require permission from Disney to do so!
    Do not buy from them! They are violating patents laws!!

    • @Jendoyle
      @Jendoyle  10 місяців тому

      Where are you able to check to see if they have the proper license or not? That would be helpful for me to know to take a closer look at some of these companies.

    Hello great videos, I’m a guy and I love cross-stitching a lot. Have a question I ordered some patterns with the printed photos on them, this kind is new for me. My question is I’m left hand, where should I start left or right side? And is their a glove or something else I can use that won’t rub the print off?

    • @Jendoyle
      @Jendoyle  2 роки тому +1

      Those are great questions! I’m kind of a newbie myself…..so my answers might not be the right ones (haha, sorry!). When I started mine, I just started with a section (like the top third) and chose a color to start with and went through and got all the squares that coordinated with that one color. (That’s as far as I’ve gotten so far). I didn’t wear any type of glove and I haven’t had any issues with the print rubbing off.

      Hi! I think it’s 3 strands for an 11 count. I’ll share the video that I found the most helpful to get me started. If you watch at the 3:00 mark, she talks about the difference between 11CT and 14CT, and then around 6:45 she talks about using three strands for the 11CT

    Do you realize this is a copy right infringement pattern? If it’s a Disney pattern without a Disney copyright imprint that’s your clue. Chinese-made cross stitch patterns are notorious for this.

      Yes, I have reached out to them to ask if they have the proper licenses for the designs. They have yet to respond and I won’t promote their product again unless they are able to answer the question.

    I would not support a business like this. They do not respect copyright. They have too much on their website that they neither own the copyright to or are licenced to make kits from the actual designer. So those designers do not make money from what this company is selling.
