In Canada it’s called a Samauri I have a convertible with all calmini suspension and 6.5.1 transfer case gears as well as a header I need to restore it and in process of getting the rest of what I need to Finnish her up cool truck you have👍🏻

Hello Mr Ridder... I own a 1987 carbureted model...same color also a hardtop.. Original engine...no rebuild...burns oil but still passes emissions test(barely).. I have contemplated on swapping the engine for a fuel injected motor as you did... Or buying a rebuilt carbureted motor.. The carbureted engine costs $1150 USD rated at 98 horse power... I use my hardtop for fishing...to reach streams and lakes that are farther and harder to reach... I dont off road... I have so many questions to ask but this issue is the largest and most important to resolve. Thank you all the way from east los angeles USA...
Hi mate! When i got this car it had a very tired 1.3 carby, it burnt oil like it did fuel 😅 The 1.6 efi was the best upgrade, it cruises so well and is such a strong motor! Thanks mate! She’s a great rig, when I look for a Suzuki I make try make sure it’s a leaf sprung wide track. They will be the 1.3L 5 speed with discs on the front rather than drums all round. Personally I prefer hard tops (quiet and no leaks) or a fibre top. Cheers!

I would call it a track bar if it were a coil cab, the axle can’t go anywhere on leafs so its restricting sway only. Anyway cheers and much of a muchness! 😎

Yeah you should be able to roll 30” tyres fine. All depends on the sort of life your 1.3 has had... mine rolled them fine back in the day, definitely a healthy size for the little zooks!

Hi mate! Its got a bunch of fruit with it by the sounds, how many km’s? Personally i wouldn’t go an auto, i think they are even more gutless and thirsty. And yes it seems quite expensive for 11 years old!
How high is it raised in total? Ive got some 33” tires laying around and wanne throw them under my 93 samurai. Just not quite sure how much i have to raise it. Also need to get a different engine cuz burning oil and fuel like crazy can barely get 125miles on a full tank
Lift won't fit tyres mate, when the suspension compresses the tyre will always end up in the same spot, no matter how much lift you have. I've seen 34" tyres on these with no lift. But with 33s a 2 inch body lift will stop your scrubbing. Just make sure your offset is correct and then you're good to go
Yeah mate, they fold up against the front seats. They came out with two styles, 1 big bench or two singles. Singles are the go i reckon. I’m currently running one in the back now, and i have my fridge next to it
Nice build. Very similar to my Samurai build. I recommend you get a set of hidden link drop down brackets for both front and rear. Will give you another 3" to 6" of flex. Though you may want to put some limit straps on the front if you do this as your front drive shaft will almost certainly hit your cross member a little bit. I ground down my cross member so that it just clears under full drop out. The one mod you have which I have been looking to do for a few years is the rear disc brakes. What disc brake assembly and adapter plate did you use? Looks like the disc bolts straight to the axle ends and the calipers bolt to the adapter plate which bolt to the stock tube ends (where the backing plate used to go). Again, great build.

Hi! All the way from Australia, these are a great first car and a great first 4wd. As it was both of these for me, i have put a lot of money into this sierra, but there is nothing stopping you from having a really capable, fun and thrilling cheaper samurai/sierra!!

really nice Sammy. My Intake also sits on the same side as yours, I like that Snorkle. So Vitara Snorkle should be ok.. Depending on how big that Pipe is. Cause my Intake can take a 72mm inside diameter pipe :-). So Snorkle needs to be the same size.
Is this a G16 Engine? I am planning to put a g16 engine and power steering to make it everyday use my Samurai 88 g13 Engine no power steering. Some people has suggested me to buy a sidekick or Geo tracker and get everything from it to update my Samurai. What do you think guys? I just want a 16v Engine and power steering conversion for everyday use and some off road trips a year.
Hi mate, it is the g16b. So it’s the efi Version (much better in my opinion) I’ve not done the power steering conversion. But it’s fairly easy running this motor so I’ve heard

What you say about the assisted wheel encourages me to try to do a swap, another problem is my country rain all like 8 months so an A/C is a must another challenge yet. People told me getting a tracker or sidekick getting pulled everything I need will be the cheaper way.

superb!!! owned two of these a 1litre carburetted and a 1.3l MPFI from factory. owned these for over 20 years:). Bullet proof little monsters did 250k kms across the two vehicles . Miss them now.
I daily an 87 tin top, I guess I'll have to fix the 1.6 in the garage now. Also, you under-sold that rear brake setup. I went the same adjustable route, haven't gotten teh disk conversion yet. Worth it's weight in gold.

That's a track bar. Not a swaybar.It's needed to keep axle located!. Did not see any swaybars. Nice rig, drive safe.

Hi mate its about 4-5” and can fit 33”s easy! 😌😌
Lift won't fit tyres mate, when the suspension compresses the tyre will always end up in the same spot, no matter how much lift you have. I've seen 34" tyres on these with no lift. But with 33s a 2 inch body lift will stop your scrubbing. Just make sure your offset is correct and then you're good to go

A is carby
B is fuel injected. Mine is the g16b, much preferred over the carby

superb!!! owned two of these a 1litre carburetted and a 1.3l MPFI from factory. owned these for over 20 years:). Bullet proof little monsters did 250k kms across the two vehicles . Miss them now.

Also, you under-sold that rear brake setup. I went the same adjustable route, haven't gotten teh disk conversion yet. Worth it's weight in gold.
