I had the honor of talking to the current owner of the "Bullitt" hero Mustang car at Mecum Auctions Kissimmee 2020 before its auction date of January 10, 2020. I tried to ask as many questions as I could because I know I wouldn't get this opportunity again. This car was used in about 95% of the car-chase scene in the movie. The other Bullitt Mustang (which was uncovered in Mexico a few years ago) was used for the famous jump sequences down the hills of San Francisco.
Special thanks to David Morton for setting up this interview.

$3.4 million bondo buggy, lol Yes I know the history of the car, the nostalgia and it is a historic car from a historic movie, but, it's still full of bondo, and sooner or later bondo does have a shelf life before it starts to finally let go and fall off, most people today won't even buy a car without a Carfax and if it shows that it had a previous accident and parts were all replaced with OEM and not just pulled out and filled in with bondo. If I had the money, I'd keep my $3.4 million and maybe pay a few bucks to just see the car.

joseph Rapoza it’s absolutely something great. Bullitt changed the way we see movies. It paved the way for car chases. It evokes a feeling so incredible to not just car guys; but to people the world over. What makes this car so incredible is the story behind it. I remember reading about the car in Mustang Monthly in the late 90’s. I remember thinking how amazing it would be to one day see the legendary car. And here it is. It’s like the Titanic. Everyone knows what it is. And still, 52 years later, IS the stuff of legends. You’re entitled to your own opinion- even if it’s wrong. Next time, maybe don’t be a internet troll and talk shit, and don’t click on videos about cars that aren’t ‘anything special’. Kick rocks bud

I don’t care what anyone says, that’s not the car in the movie, I’d bet my live on it. Or in the famous race seen. 😎👍🏼

Plus the car did not have the Chrome package on the bottom.

@@godsworld9892 the one in Mexico was completely smashed. I think if the other car's fake, then don't you think Ford would've said something?
