Fantastic interview, Matt. It was a dream come true when the original car was finally revealed earlier this year.....but to know Sean is a true Mustang enthusiast is the icing on the cake. I'd love to meet him some day :)
Good interview Matt. As a 2013 Boss school bus yellow Mustang owner your review of that car made my day as well. Good luck with your 2019 Bullitt Mustang purchase.
Cool video! It's nice to see the Bullitt STANG up close and hear the owner's stories and history with the car. Thanks for bringing this story to Your channel.
I love this video with the Bullit owner! Great job. Such a heartwarming story. I want to watch The Bullit movie now! I ordered a 2018 Mustang Ecoboost in January. I am so excited to drive it! I know it’s not a V8 but I am coming from a Civic so it is perfect for me. Besides my husband has a 2016 GT. So I can always drive his if I want to. Thanks for sharing his story! Keep up the great work!
Great interview Matt. Great Car guy just like you. So glad its really out there again. I will go see that car in the future somewhere. My picture on here is my Shelby GT 500 in the Henry Ford museum parking lot. I hope its there next time I go.
Tail of The Dragon, indeed!!! Heading back there again next month. Not in a Mustang(which I like a lot), but in a corvette. Great roads and beautiful area.
I got to see the Bullitt back in 2018 there on the mall during lunch break . At the time I worked in downtown DC . There weren’t many people to see it or even knew what it was. I ended up being an impromptu docent telling people about the film , the car and the recent reemergence after so many years in private hands
Great interview and even better to hear the stories. Bullit is one of my all time favorite movies. I was hooked when I first saw the movie and the car chase when I was 8. Wow so awesome.
I know it's not cars but for any of you Steve McQueen fans in the UK ...they have the original triumph Steve used in the great escape on show at the triumph factory museum....
I learned to drive in a 68 corenet. And a 68 Fargo van. Big family. My first car I bought was a 74 javelin. 401. 4 speed. Black and gold. 1200 dollars. I offered 1000. The guy was a narlly bastard. Three flats and covered in sap. What a nightmare. But a little elbow grease and she was a beauty. Oh the cars I drove in my time. A generally paid 1000 or less. Amazing time. Today I drive a 08 Silverado extended cab. Just a plain jane. Crank windows. But it's a good ride. I sure do miss my C10 68 to 72. My old 68 Fargo truck. My 65 Buick riviera. What a ride. 2000 dollars I paid. Sold for 7000 a year later. 1986. Kick my ass. Lol. The list is endless. My javelin broke down shortly after I bough it. As it was being repaired. I went up town and bought a 1972 grand torino. 302 grammas car. 900 dollars. In 79. Nice car. If you drop a bigger motor in it. Switch out the seats to buckets. And a big ass shifter between the legs. Nor mine of course. The ones we raced in the day were the maverick. Vega. Pinto Capri. We demo all the rest. Lol
its fun to see he not really the fan of the car from bullitt but its special to him cause its a family car. he has to at least get rid of the rust off the car
Wait his FATHER was looking for a shelby, as that's exactly how the stuntcar was found in a way, a guy was looking for a 67/68 to turn into an elenor replica in mexico, only to find a haggard old 68, which turned out to be the old stuntcar, sad part is it looked like it had its old shelby gt350 wheel in it when he found it, which Mcqueen specified for the car, and I think the owner junked it. but regardless this explains why this new one seems so special, it was literally put up against the OG car, not one like it, the REAL one, and made as a tribute to it and the late father who found and kept the car together for all these years, although Mcqueen must have felt like he was rolling snake eyes back then, as this 68 got sold, and he sold his XKSS, and tried but never COULD get them back although most ironically, now jag is making continuation cars of that said car and now we have this, in addition to new production old school mustangs too.
Matt I think I told you that the coworker I work with at the winery used to be good friends With a guy name Bill, Bill was the driver in the black charger in the movie and my coworker would grab lunch with him every week my coworker didn’t even know who he was they were just friends both crazy car guys until one day Bill told him about the movie and what he did apparently he retired in Lodi California and I think my coworker said his name was Bill Cunningham? But how cool is that to be sort of close to the The movie in such a weird sense like that?
What a cool guy. Now the car also has this awesome story. I mean, they were able to keep this car hidden for like 40+ years and was able to put on another 48,000 miles
Going from an MG to a Mustang. No wonder the neglect and rust in the car. Amazing that a car of that stature went to a home like that and still survived. Kind of like an abused orphan that really was lost royalty.
"THE BULLIT" Mustang Modified to McQueen's Exzact Specks was discovered in a Mexican Junkyard a couple year's ago ( A-holes who found & Bought it wanted them to customize it to a 67' Shelby "ELEANOR" lucky FOR EVERYONE IT SURVIVED & They Realised they found the HOLY grail before gutting it. That second flat back shot one take, McQueen didn't drive either
Watch the movie again. This is clearly not the chase scene/backward burnout car. That one had a power antenna and was banged up at the end. While this was the "hero" car, it's ironic that the chase/jump/stunt car is the one that was used in all the memorable scenes.
Is there any way he can bring the Bullitt Mustang to The Automotive Gallery in Green Bay WI, I volunteer there and it is an immaculate gallery showcasing all types of cars as artistic design, and all the cars are driven even the ones from 1900. The newest edition is a Ford Mustang GTH Shelby 500. The gallery is owned by Red Lewis who owns PDQ car wash systems. A lot of cars there are out of his collection but there are cars on loan from other owners. Let me know if your new friend would be interested in placing the car in the automotive gallery for a month or two on its national tour.
Matt Maran Motoring I thought I had read that a while ago! The cars in this area have floored me since I moved here. Matt, the lane motor museum is here and if you haven’t been already I suggest doing so, lots of quirky and rare cars. Including the Tata Nano.
Matt Maran Motoring it’s a lovely place to live, definitely a change from the New England pace I was used to. If you can make it for the Cars and Coffee the first Saturday of the month, they have usually a thousand or so cars that roll up. It’s nuts.
Probably, I'm not sure about some of the rare ones or the first Mustang ever built for example, but I'm sure it's up there as one of the most valuable.
steves letter to his dad was kinda crude. i can find you another car if its not too expensive, otherwise we might as well forget it. k...lets forget it steve
That guy seems like such a cool dude. Down to earth guy that loves to talk about everything related to Bullitt and Mustangs
Fantastic interview, Matt. It was a dream come true when the original car was finally revealed earlier this year.....but to know Sean is a true Mustang enthusiast is the icing on the cake. I'd love to meet him some day :)
Priceless!!! No other way to say it. I'm in aww. Wow!
Love how the owner is so humble and is eager to talk about the car!
I had the honor to meet Sean Kiernan and listen to the stories about Bullitt, his father and his family. Super cool guy.
As a bullitt owner, mine might not be nearly as rare but its just as special to me, that car is amazing
there's only one dude, yours must be fake
Art Vandelay Um, there are other Bullitts dude, from like '01, '08 and now '18.
That car is like a celebrity-100%
You are just awesome Matt. Way to step up and get this interview! Hope you fully enjoy your Bullit!
Thanks Chad!
Great interview and what a nice owner!
Thanks Guido!
Less then 2 years later the car is sold at auction and goes for 3.4 million. It was a great investment.
Thanks for sharing that had to be a pretty special moment for you!
It was for sure!
Good interview Matt. As a 2013 Boss school bus yellow Mustang owner your review of that car made my day as well. Good luck with your 2019 Bullitt Mustang purchase.
Thanks Richard!
OMG Matt! That was the best interview I have seen in a long time!!! I was geeking out the whole time!
Cool video! It's nice to see the Bullitt STANG up close and hear the owner's stories and history with the car. Thanks for bringing this story to Your channel.
The best video you made Matt!
Thank you Matt for the great interview, amazing,,,
Gotta be a highlight of Matt`s life.
Definitely a day I'll never forget.
Wonderful interview. I wish that I still had my 1974 Mustang. It was my first new car and my daily driver for 15 years.
Great video Matt. What a story! Amazing. That Bullitt still looks beautiful.

Great interview Matt!
Tail of The Dragon, indeed!!! Heading back there again next month. Not in a Mustang(which I like a lot), but in a corvette. Great roads and beautiful area.
Great review, totally enjoyed it!
What a great interview! Honest and pure. I have to have a Bullitt just to share with my son. Brilliant job

“National Mustang Day”. When the streets are empty.
Admiral Ackbar crowd control day
Very cool, seems like a pretty down to earth guy
Great job Matt .. Keep up the great work dude
Looks like he got 3.74 million for it. Great investment.
Great interview and even better to hear the stories. Bullit is one of my all time favorite movies. I was hooked when I first saw the movie and the car chase when I was 8. Wow so awesome.

Loving your backpack Tripod you got going on. hahaha Great interview, love it.
Where else can we see the car? Do you know where the info will be?
I'd suggest following the owner on Instagram @therealbullitt He usually posts on there what events the car will be at.
Best interview to Sean Kiernan
Great video!
Looking foward to watching your video when you get your own Bullitt! (Btw i hope they give the option of having Black calipers instead of Red...)
This was an awesome interview ! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Wow you literally have a dream job

This channel should be named mustang moran motoring or fordmustangfan

That's awesome! Bill Hickman was the name of the guy in the Charger.
Matt Maran Motoring That's right Bill Hickman!!! On Monday I will ask my co-worker for more info!!!!
He was on Jay Leno's show
What a cool guy. Now the car also has this awesome story. I mean, they were able to keep this car hidden for like 40+ years and was able to put on another 48,000 miles
I wonder what happened to the car the bullitt raced with and were it is now days
Who would have thought $3.4 million...👏👏..
Shell V-Power is the only gas i put in my car, run that shit hard.
Exelent interview! Thanks., the netherlands.
Are you gonna be at the youtube callout?
No I can't make it unfortunately.

Love your vids man, keep up the good work! Road to 1M 👍
..FYI...when we bought our 2020 Ford Mustang they had a "Bullitt".. model in the showroom..sticker 70k plus..!!! yikes..!!!

Wish I could’ve made it!! Couldn’t get out of school :/
Did the letter go with the car at auction?

Dream car
I saw this movie 7 times with 7 different girls. Hungawazzz
Well, I certainly didn't realize there was 986 Bullitt mustang's. Who knew? Christ, maybe I have one tucked away somewhere.
Pretty sweet
Missing the California plate
Sweet brother
LOL, nice replica! :D
Very cool, but the more you move that car around the more risk your taking with it. People would travel to see the car.
Pretty cool
It’s in Nashville isn’t it?
Washington DC
The owner lives in Tennessee but the car has been on the road traveling all over.
Matt Maran Motoring I thought I had read that a while ago! The cars in this area have floored me since I moved here. Matt, the lane motor museum is here and if you haven’t been already I suggest doing so, lots of quirky and rare cars. Including the Tata Nano.
Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check it out the next time I'm in Nashville. Went there for the first time last year and really liked it there!
Matt Maran Motoring it’s a lovely place to live, definitely a change from the New England pace I was used to. If you can make it for the Cars and Coffee the first Saturday of the month, they have usually a thousand or so cars that roll up. It’s nuts.
Horizon and ranger? Yea there are people who would want those...
I want to get a '68 Bullitt and a '75 Porsche 911
Awesome man. Can't wait to see you on TV someday. :o) (Although I actually watch UA-cam more than TV!)
Says he won't sell it, then sells it at auction.
9:02 Is that kind of an assholian letter from Steve McQueen? Maybe I'm the asshole.
I would auction it now.
Exactly. Now is the time.
and what would the reserve starting price be..and what would the estimated selling price be
The car's value is estimated at 4 million.
Safe to assume it's the most valuable mustang in the world?
Probably, I'm not sure about some of the rare ones or the first Mustang ever built for example, but I'm sure it's up there as one of the most valuable.
His cars are family. Nothing wrong with that.
He's selling the Mustang...
With 3.5 MILLION in his pocket now? He can buy a great restomod look alike.
So how are they proving this is the real thing? Thats what I wanna know. How many guys watched the movie and made a clone of that car.
Michael Cuff the VIN is correct.
3.4 million Sold at the Mechum auction 🤦♂️
Jay Leno review of the original and the new mustang bullitt - m.ua-cam.com/video/1Hu4vKWBMCo/v-deo.html
If you haven’t seen it already
FUNNY HOW THE MOVIE CAR HAS A PASSENGER REAR FENDER AUTOMATIC ANTENNA & THE AUCTION CAR HAS A RIGID FRONT FENDER ANTENNA ! Please something is fish!
He was going to keep it.....but then sold it.
For Mustang lovers with an original soundtrack : ua-cam.com/video/uqVw3FEHtaw/v-deo.html
steves letter to his dad was kinda crude. i can find you another car if its not too expensive, otherwise we might as well forget it. k...lets forget it steve
👊👊🔥🔥🏁🏁
this guy did not take care of the car it has rust and dents on it. Slob!
Keep the mustang and drive it to work , but first it could use a paint job.
He sold in 34M Dollar
That's not the car.
