  • The rythmn guitar and lead you are about to hear are both played by Mark.
In this case (early Dire Straits), he often used the strat on the 2nd pickup position (from lower to upper), the Orange Squeezer as a compressor and, on this particular tune, a lot of a specific type of reverb with a spring on it's tank, which gives this sord of bouncy tone (of course when added to mark's playing style).

Ogni commento è superfluo davanti ad un altro capolavoro di Mark

Are you able to isolate this one from the live at the Rainbow Theatre? That would be amazing!!!! Please! I will even buy it!

This is fantastic! what tool do you use? i'm just starting to isolate so i can practice on top of songs but i get bad results. Used Moises a couple of times and the end result is usually bad. The app's costumer service tells me i need good quality WAVs but IDK where to get those from.

Sorry. I have another question: it sounds half a tone higher. Is it because of the isolation thing?

Sorry! I meant *the key stays the same* what changes is that, on live versions (like rockpalast) he turns down the last tone knob a little.
