Thank you! I also model HO, but no specific railroad. I agree, but a model is a model and cannot be as real as the "real thing". On the other hand, I wonder sometimes how "model railroad-like" the real thing looks like from the distance!
Another great video..i like your new opening and I loved the 2 slugs you caught also. A great location with the C-130 as an added bonus!..I just wish i could more viewers like you..keep up the great work,im going to watch pt 2 now.
model trains are facinating once all the elements are in place. Real trains are simply amazing due the physics at work. The super detail elements can be found in your videos.
Since in this sequence you can see the lead engine from both sides you notice that they all look the same: on one side tanks for compressed air, on the other for fuel. Which you see from the side just depends on the forward or backward orientation of the engine.
Great video! Nice start with two SD40-2 and two sets of slugs. But those slugs give help as power for SD40-2? And how? electric motors or batteries? Or is it more weight you must pull the SD40-2?
Slugs are just like locomotives without a cab, i.e., without any own equipment that would allow to control them. That's why they always need to be connected to a lead unit (here the SD40-2). But they have their own diesel power and electric traction motors on their trucks. Of course, the idea is to increase the horsepower in a cheap way without "wasting" another potential road engine.
Hey buddy thx for all the uploads you do the info I learn from here is astounding. I'm from Augusta,Ga and I model Norfolk Southern in N scale. My model railroad runs from Andrews yard in Columbia,Sc through Augusta on to Brosnan in Macon. Do you happen to have any local set outs and pick up videos.
Very nice, thank you! Well, there are a couple of switching videos on my channel, but more on the CSX Abbeville sub. Of course, I have no yard access and therefore no videos from inside a yard.
Well, it's fifty-fifty: These are single-engine local trains. If they go out of the yard to switch a nearby industry, they point in one direction; upon return into the other. There are typically no turntables in the industrial areas.
I FORGET WHAT THEY ARE CALLED BUT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT I HAVE SEEN TWO OF THESE OUT ON THE ROAD WHAT ARE THEY CALLED THEY ARE SUPPOSEDTO BE USED AS A BOOSTER IN THE SWITCH YARD BUT THIS IS MACON GEORGIA
sweet catches. EMD's and GE's nice. cool EMD's SD40's, GE ES44 stander cab's d9-40c's nice. 3 single locomotive's and 2 in long hood nice. #7104 SD50 nice. cool a EMD SD70ACE nice. cool 2 SD60's nice. cool a hi railer nice
Congratulations ! The trains pass in 16 minute is excelent, the signal light chamber green to red during locomotive pass is a exquisite detail !
Great you liked it 😊
MB, I model NS in HO scale, but "Ain't nothing like the real thang baby" and you bring it so superbly. Thanks for all you do!!

Great video! Awesome engines and wagons! Enjoyed every minute! Thanks mbmars01!
Many thanks, glad you liked watching it!
Seems odd seeing those Dash-9s running hood end first. You'd think the radiators would mean that the view was very very restricted.
Beautiful scenes and catches :) all your movies are inspiration to me to make my american layout :) thank you very much :)
Thank you! I'm glad you like 'em and that they are helpful and inspiring ;-)
nice video. love all the Norfolk southern trains. keep it up . liked.
Thank you.

Thank you so much! I just uploaded part 2. Hope you enjoy it as well :-)
Thanks for the video I appreciate your work. I like your shots of the the engines I would love to see the Aces in action
Thanks. Which ones do you mean?

I entirely agree! That's why I like both railfanning and modeling.
Awesome video! I caught an ET44AC in Bonaire Thursday.
Thanks! Nice!
Excellent video!
Cool, thanks!
Amazing video once again!
Thank you!
What's with the stripes near and on the plow of the Norfolk southern switchers . I have never seen that before
What is the difference between the locomotives at 3:32 with 3 tanks, and locomotives at 4:37 one big tank? Thanks.
Since in this sequence you can see the lead engine from both sides you notice that they all look the same: on one side tanks for compressed air, on the other for fuel. Which you see from the side just depends on the forward or backward orientation of the engine.
Ah. Thank you.
The engine that I like I believe it is called 70ac. The engines have huge radiators located at the rear of the locomotive.
Great video! Nice start with two SD40-2 and two sets of slugs.

Its refreshing to see long hood forward on the point. Reminds me of Southern Railway!
I have a question about Manifest NS 363 what is that machinery called on the ttx car? thank you love your vids
It's a wheel tractor-scraper by Caterpillar, model 631K, used for earth moving in mines or construction.
thank you for your reply and look foward to more of your videos
Just subscribed. Top quality video's. You found your calling. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks a lot. I'm happy you like watching them.
THE THING IS THE RAIL ROAD WILL LEVEL OUT FOR A SHORT WAY THEN BACK TO THE UP AND DOWN UP AND DOWN THEN FOR A SHORT DISTANCE.
long-hood forward day?
No lol, for some reason NS loves doing that all the time, it honestly looks pretty cool.
See my response to zippa.way above. I agree, long-hood forward looks great.
why do they run long hood forward alot?
Well, it's fifty-fifty: These are single-engine local trains. If they go out of the yard to switch a nearby industry, they point in one direction; upon return into the other. There are typically no turntables in the industrial areas.
THERE LOOKS LIKE SOME LEVEL RAIL ROAD IN GEORGIA AFTER ALL HARD TO BELIVE
at 19:54 to 20:00 and 20:10 to 15 that's a nice train horn
NS 8981 with a weird K5LA but it’s sounds like Zane Delozier’s voice LOL 😂🤣😆 mbmars01
Lol
Interesting and fun! What kind of mother would call her kids slugs? LOL
Lol.
CAPS LOCK IS ON!!!
NEAR MACON GA. THE RAIL ROAD IS DOWN OVER THE HUMP IN THIS CASE COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION IT IS UP OVER THE HUMP
BNSF al the way, Great video, Clear sharp images, great job, thanks for sharing.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked watching it.

Cool, that's it!
+mbmars01 great video I wish CSX could run more trains LHF
kevin butler
Well, all single-engine local trains run LHF either yard-inbound or yard-outbound. I have seen this also on the CSX Abbeville Sub.
Two slugs. I've never seen that
me either
I meant 70ace
Yeah, understand, EMD's SD70ACe. Like them as well. You've already seen plenty of them in action in my videos!
