This video is another immaculate piece of art. I love this bike. The bike of my dreams. I would not buy it so much for touring, but because I cannot think of anything better for my spirit than to ride this on the open highway listening to my favorite rock albums during a morning ride to a cafe 1 hour or 2 away from where I live. This channel has the same values regarding motorcycling that I have: traditional brands, sturdy materials, beautiful designs, commitment to the lifestyle, and always stating the subjective and the objective without fear. Here is to you, Mr Darcy & The Ol' Man! Have a great weekend with motorcycling, good food and plenty of rest. Thank you for your service!
Street Glide is my favourite Harley. It is supremely comfortable, agile at slow speeds, engine has mountains of torque, and is a joy to ride. It only has 2 negatives: Pushing it around, and the eye watering price. One of the finest examples in the world of classically styled touring motorcycles.
Well done, sir! Harley-Davidson does indeed make superb touring motorbikes. At this stage of my existence and having a physical handicap I can no longer handle such a large motorbike safely. Again, well done. A beautiful motorbike. SS
I'm that guy that likes the older stuff, and sometimes like to talk a little shit about their new stuff Ha Ha (got a 91' Fatboy and a 71' FX) But DAMN the Street Glide Special is SEXY! And I LOVE the idea of blasting Rock-N-Roll in your face all while riding a Harley Davidson! Great review as always Ol' Man
Very well said. I ride for 50 years all types of bikes, but I never rode a Harley. I like some of Harley models (since 2018). In a great majority of Softail models I feel cramped or I feel the air box touching my leg. But sometimes i feel tempted . I reached the conclusion that maybe the price per kg/Lbs. is not so much higher than in a "normal".bike. The question is that I dont need to buy so many Kg/Lbs to have great pleasures. Yes; its a question of sensorial pleasure; not about perfomance, dynamics, or charge/pilion capacity. In fact in GB or anywere else in Europe a 125cc is more or less enought, regarding the legal limits as you said. I love the torque and the stock exhaust sound music from both my Royal Enfield Classi 500 euro 4 and from my Moto Guzzi Breva 750. Do I need rationaly anything else?. The answer is Nooooo!.
Put down 300 miles today after work for my Sunday therapy. My 2023 sgs is just a Beast.. 90mph the entire way. From Sand Diego to Arizona. From the ocean through the mountains then the desert throttle rolled on. M8 114 is just killer
Greetings from Spain. I'm glad to see a review of a brand other than Royal Enfield, which I don't trust, by the way. It's just my mentality. 😁 I know you can't please everyone, but in any case, thank you for the quality content!
Beautifully designed and quite pleasing to the eye. Harley Davidson has stepped up the quality of the components and the fit and finish. They make a fine machine. I just haven't been able to swallow that big price tag to pull the trigger and put one in my garage. Maybe it's my retirement present to myself...
$30,000 and they have hardware store zip ties holding cables to the bars??? At this price point every single piece should be premium, especially from the rider’s perspective. As always, another great review!
I'm still thinking of your review of the Honda Goldwing 'bagger', one of the best on UA-cam. While I agree there is something very special about how HDs look and feel, the riding experience just isn't as exciting or as practical as the big Honda. I'll keep doing the lottery though 😅
Evening old man, Let me start by saying that I am a Harley owner, a 2019 street bob owner which I'm reasonably happy with. Your point that Harley make the best touring bikes made me think of an encounter a few months ago. My local dealer literally threw me the fob of a road glide special demo, which I have to say looked and sounded incredible. I'm a similar height to yourself and within half an hour of riding the bike I had definitely formed an opinion that for the amount of money the bike cost it was without doubt the most disappointing bike I had ever ridden. The buffeting from the screen was ridiculous, weither I sat up, crouched down, either way it was awful. The ride out was on a beautiful day if a little breezy and the side winds proved difficult to hold the bike on a chosen line. When I arrived back at the dealer I told him how much I wanted to enjoy the bike but felt massively disappointed. And to compound matters he had valued my bike, which left a balance of £19000 . Utter madness. For me Harley is a lifestyle, and no way are they a better tourer than RT BMW's, honda goldwings and not to mention many more. Sorry, but that's only my opinion.
thats a beautiful display. i am trying to think of how to describe the feeling it gives me, but i cant. lovely bike, paint scheme is interesting. loved it initially but i passed a construction site this morning and the yellow looks awfully similar hahah
I couldn’t agree more with your description of what this bike is for… I road tested a Road Glide and a Sport Glide on the same day. Road glide has been the bike of my dreams (until I road tested one). The Sport glide is what I went for because everyday social riding is what I do and the road glide would certainly be overkill for Sunday riding. If I ever go across Europe though I’d be going for the Road / Street glide over my Sport glide. Great video, keep up the good work 👍🏻
Very good bikes. I’d prefer an orange/black colour combo, with mid controls (I’m 5’8”) and a medium height screen. Like you I prefer the batwing style fairing. The maximum legal speed limit where I live is 110kmh.
I ride a 21 street glide special, it’s stage 2, some other mods also, and it’s the best bike I’ve owned. Whether local runs, long distance, these street glides do everything well. They look badass also. I have a Softail slim in my garage also, for local riding or other, I generally pick the street glide.
Great, honest review, thank you. Disagree slightly on the idea of looking elsewhere if you don’t tour. I have no interest into touring but still love the bike. It’s great for cruising and surprisingly good at back lane scratching as well, there’s something rewarding about hustling a 800 pound motorcycle round country lanes!
Never owned one. Ridden more than a few. Forward controls aren't my personal favorite. Always thought they were too Expensive, too Heavy and too Slow... They're not really slow any more but they still tick those first two boxes. I know lots that have owned them and switched. I know lots that do currently own Harley and wouldn't ride anything else. It's a personal choice. My choice is still to be made... Keep up the excellent content...
I sort of like the idea of a black and yellow HD but not that pale shade of yellow. A more orangey yellow akin to the glorious Cosmic Yellow as used by Triumph on the current-latest Street Triple 765 RS would look drop dead gorgeous!
Thise analog inline gauges are one of main reasons which made me to buy SG. Thank you for nice video. Great director who controlled filming process behind the window.
Very enjoyable watch. Ol' Man the Harley fan boy haha. Have to say though it suits you to a tee. It sure is pure motorcycle art, strangely I really like the 4 analogue clocks, looked really classy. Not my kind of bike but I appreciate what it is. Cheers.
You’re getting some impressive bikes to review and good on Harley for following this up with you. From what I’ve read, they don’t let any Tom, Dick and Harry review and test ride their bikes like this. Cheers.
Beautiful bike! I have never even ridden a big, touring, bike before, even though I’ve only ridden Harleys since I started riding 3 years ago. I have a ‘21 LRS with the 114 and love it. I have to say though, that Harley Davidson just makes the best looking touring bikes in the world! Imo of course. They are expensive and heavy, but man, there’s nothing like a Harley Davidson! I wonder if you’ve seen the new CVOs yet, and what’s your opinion? Love the channel! From NE, Oklahoma to you!
I bought a 2023 Street Glide with the 107 in August. Where I'm located in Canada the 107 model retails for $29,949, the Special goes for $38,349. I liked the look of the Special, but I didn't see enough extra value in the Special to warrant paying the extra $8400.
Very nice colour though l love the orange one best! On my holiday this year I saw a few stonking down the outside lane past me - and l wasn’t hanging around either .
Ol'Man, you're fitting this (most probably any other as well, except a Hugger) HOG as good (if not better) as your 1800er beemer 👍 Congrats on your thorough as well as beautiful presentation of this awesome bike (mentioning the unmatched HOG merchandise, too), mate 👍
I still think the streetbob 114 and softtail standard. Is by far best bikes harley has made. Minimalistic chopped down. Nible. Is the best. True classics,
Hurray some one who actually says how it is. I’ve owned 7 Harleys, the last 2 were street glides. Great bike as you said if your mile munching but no so good on narrow country lanes. I ride mostly 2 up and have toured all over the Uk. I’ve done Scotland to death because I love the place and I can honestly say riding the highlands on a street glide was hard work. I have a BMW k1600b option 719 which was bought from new and the prices are very similar for a new bike. I did the Route 500 last year on it and compared to the Harley it light years ahead. It is so easy to ride and handles all the narrow lanes with ease. You are quite tight that you should buy a bike that will do what you want it to do. Street glides are an American bike built for the American market it does well in Australia too because of the long straight roads. I’d love to get another Harley but at the moment for me they don’t do what I need a bike to do for my sort of riding. That being said when I stop touring I will in all probability go back to Harley, that’s if we’re still allowed to buy petrol vehicles. …..great vid by the way. I always watch as unlike some your not afraid to give the negative points of a bike. Keep it up please.
I respect your opinion on touring bikes. Some bikes, like BMW and Yamaha, etc are exceptionally comfortable and nimble, but Street glide and Road glide do very well on the twisties. I do suggest taller shocks yo get better lean angle if you ride aggressive.
Really enjoyed this video, thank you. I have ridden HD Sportsters and liked them, I need to have a ride on these larger models they look comfortable and fun, I think there needs to be a degree of understanding when it comes to HD bikes and it’s not the bike for some. I actually liked the colour.
I’ve been down to Harley in Chester today. Absolutely gorgeous bikes in there. I’m still loving the fat bob and the sport glide. Definitely treating myself to one of those at some point in the future. Great review as always 👍
Great review as usual ol man. I do like Harleys however I would never buy a new one while iam living in Australia as all the new Harleys here are made in Taiwan. My 2012 Fatbob is made in the USA so iam happy to hang on to it.👍👍
Don't know if this effects you in the UK, Harley Davidson Australia has a recall on for 3,000+ Harley's sold in Australia. A dangerous life threatening manufacturing fault.
Ive had a sportster a wide glide and a road glide special. As far as build quality is concerned, my R18 beats all of them hands down as far as im concerned. As long as the R18 in all its forms is still available I dont see myself going back to HD.
They've been doing it the longest and continuously so they must know a thing or two of what makes a Grand Touring bike. I don't think you can actually pick a bad Harley these days. Anything with the hugely satisfying M8 engine is superb. I expect to see you in your high heels next time mate and whilst your at it, a mini skirt might have your channel explode 10 fold with new subscribers 😉
If I was doing a road trip across the US, I’d like to do it on a Harley, other than that I wouldn’t entertain one. I’ve only ridden 3 different Harley’s and each time I can’t say I enjoyed the ride. 30k for this bike, to me, seems crazy. Aren’t the Honda Goldwings 20 odd grand? Anyway, it’s good that we’re all different.
I refer to them as "the Iffy Stand".. The fairing fixed to the frame is the "Shark Nose" and the one floating on the front end is the "Bat Wing", both are classic, though with the single headlamp I find the Bat Wing more so and the Shark Nose can look particularly bitchin'.. You probably know how well the handling tightens up with some progressive springs and longer units at the rear, the remote reservoirs work particularly well too. I think it's great that Harley haven't ironed out the character of the Iffy stand, even after all this time.
another great review and one heck of a sweet looking ride.. but on the side note.. what are the boots you've got on.. I'm looking for some riding boots like that for in the UK

Striking machine; though those specific colours may confuse stranded UK motorists. ~ 'But, he's not stopping . . . he's ridden straight past!' 'Oh . . . perhaps that wasn't the AA man after all . . . just a motorbike.' ~ 'Maybe didn't see us . . . & will turn round to come back.' 'Mummy, Susan ate all the red ones again.' : )
34.255 € with this black-yellow paintjob 🤯 Even the bike is really sexy I would never spend that much money for a "hobby" but that's a matter of taste 😉
How did you find head buffeting ? I’m not as tall as you only 5’ 10” and I found it very bad hence I’ve got a Heritage Softail. Great video as usual. 😎👍.
Hi I’m a big fan but I must ask how does it compare with the BMWs R18 equivalent ,dose the no reavse and heavy bike , BMW’s don’t seem to keep there value but seem great bikes
That's an absolutely ridiculous price😮 as always I'm talking from an average working man point of view, you can get a goldwing cheaper, typical over priced HD, nice maybe, but certainly not at that price 🙄
I can totally see why the people in charge would have made the speed limit no more than 40 miles an hour in your neck of the woods. Even those long, drawn out wide open highways that you show in the video look very, very dangerous to me if they were traveled above 40 miles an hour. So, please make sure you adhere to these very sensible laws and limits. From Southern California ~ Ride Forever! 🦅

MBP C650V
It looks like that one is made for the UK market, the numberplate is rather camouflaged with that yellow👌🏻
Love your content
Many thanks 😊
An awesome looking bike. Can we call it bumblebee?
I think of this as Harleys 911 tweek slightly to improve
Ideal for my meals on wheels delivery route ❤ cheers from Oz 🇦🇺 Chap
Would be great if you did a comparison with the Indian equivalent 😊
Harley davidson dream
In addition to wanting the price of it to be lower. For a small person like me, it would be great if there was a reverse gear as well.
Striking machine; though those specific colours may confuse stranded UK motorists.
~ 'But, he's not stopping . . . he's ridden straight past!'
'Oh . . . perhaps that wasn't the AA man after all . . . just a motorbike.'
~ 'Maybe didn't see us . . . & will turn round to come back.'
'Mummy, Susan ate all the red ones again.' : )
I did think it was an emergency or similar utility bike at first. The colour is ghastly and definitely not suitable for the UK.
Haha! Came here to make an AA joke, but ya beat me to it!
Yes Nice Bike ,Sorry not me , I,m a Lowrider ST
34.255 € with this black-yellow paintjob 🤯 Even the bike is really sexy I would never spend that much money for a "hobby" but that's a matter of taste 😉
Thanks!
Thank you 🙏 Much appreciated 👍🏼👍🏼
How did you find head buffeting ? I’m not as tall as you only 5’ 10” and I found it very bad hence I’ve got a Heritage Softail. Great video as usual. 😎👍.
I mention that in the video 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan sorry missed that bit 🤦♂️.
With the ever increasing reduction in speed measures im beginning to wonder whats the point in some model's of bike
It is getting ridiculous
Hi I’m a big fan but I must ask how does it compare with the BMWs R18 equivalent ,dose the no reavse and heavy bike , BMW’s don’t seem to keep there value but seem great bikes
I love the R18 and reverse is a game changer. I have not ridden the R18 touring bikes so I cannot compare directly 👍🏼
Beautiful motorcycle, great color scheme!
i thought it was 20mph now🤣😂🤣 wow i was just looking at harley australia and see that the x350 and 500 are coming in 2024
Sounds nice, but that yellow is just yuk. And the price is just off the scale and beyond my means
I could imagine myself trading in my Sport-Glide for this one, however it’s kind of way over my budget….😊
That's an absolutely ridiculous price😮 as always I'm talking from an average working man point of view, you can get a goldwing cheaper, typical over priced HD, nice maybe, but certainly not at that price 🙄
£2.5 k more (than the Goldwing bagger) to be exact. Ridiculous as you then need better seat, 'bars and suspension for the H-D.
@@Big-Si2253 it's why I refer to HD as the apple of motorcycle world
I can totally see why the people in charge would have made the speed limit no more than 40 miles an hour in your neck of the woods. Even those long, drawn out wide open highways that you show in the video look very, very dangerous to me if they were traveled above 40 miles an hour. So, please make sure you adhere to these very sensible laws and limits.
From Southern California ~ Ride Forever! 🦅
can it be used as a everyday motorcycle for all weathers and commuting i do roughly 1,300 miles just commuting
Definitely 👍🏼
Sorry, what did you say?
Distracted by your co-host! 😃
We love you.
