The mistake you made was attempting to fight against the wind. It would be better to fly as low as possible and ride the wind like a sailboat. Move diagonally to catch the wind and gain speed, then gently turn diagonally against the wind. Repeat this zigzag pattern to navigate across the fjord and retrieve the drone more effectively.
Probably yes. I am also very curious on what had happened if I had let the drone fly itself back...and let it chose the speed and all that by itself
I guess the biggest misstake was just to try to take a Little Mini drone...over a windy fjord xD
@@truckdriver1982 Look like it was near Olden and Loen. If thats the case there would be a road on the other side where you tried to reach.

The wind was caused by the mountains, it is a phenomenon called topographical wind 🤓

Anledningen till att man tog försäkringen var ju så att man kunde ta lite "häftigare" bilder...så fine om nån går förlorad. Men måste inte va så retsamt :p

That was a costly flight, even if you got a new one. But at least you learned something about battery time 😁 Too bad the landing wasn't recorded.

Nice try! You have to make a rescue life balloon for next drone. Just a water sensible helium cartridge and run/row for it. 😅

god i really want a drone seems so awsome to fly. but i live to close to a no fly zone to make it worth it :(
There are a lot of no fly zones where I live to...but its fun to bring it on some trips och fly over beautiful nature :)
And made not over the local airport... 😁
Sports mode is not energy effective. Normal mode had been better.

For next time.
- The mini drones are to light to handle wind effienctly so they use a lot more power to sustain themself.
- Stop recording through your drone. i saw that you never stopped recording. if you'd done so by the houses, you would have made it.
- And like you said, always watch your timer for your battery. i would never have flown over in the first place seeing i had only 8 minutes. I have the mavic 3 and always return when i have 8 minutes left xP
I don't wanna sound like a besserwiser or how you say it, but i would never have flown over in the first place. Too far away and the risk of an eagle or birds in general showing up is also too high. Also there's a lot of helicopter activity around and you flying over 120 meters is not safe either.
Stop - think - act.. Dont fly towards your take off point, you could have flown parallel to wind so no headwind and reach the ground a bit more off where you took off.
