I was in a school shooting in 6th grade, it was terrible, terrifying, and so so disturbing. I couldn’t sleep for about 3 months from the experience. My best friend got injured and kids and teachers died. I will never forget that day. It was horrifying. I got stuck from taking notes to the office and ran into the janitors closet with a couple of more kids. I felt like I was going to pass out

The saddest part of this video is reading the comments and hearing the real life experiences of people who have survived events like this. Its terrible! Nobody should have to go through this.

I went through a similar experience last year -- I was told to bring a tape dispenser to another class because they ran out of tape, and there was an active shooter in the school at the time while I was still in the hallways. It was traumatizing. The lock down alarm went off and I was running for my life because all the doors locked. I could hear gunshots throughout the school, I still don't know if there were multiple shooters or not. I ended up hiding in the janitors closet, and I was in there sobbing my eyes out until the gun shots stopped, which was like a good 10-15 minutes. I couldn't sleep for a few months.

We heard stories, we had drills, but it didn't really affect us in any significant way and some would even joke around during drills. I was the same. I tend to always try to hurry up my grandmother when we go grocery shopping because she loves to take forever picking out fruits and veggie tables, which tend to be at the entrance of every food shopping center, and everyone knows the entrance is the first place where you will die if you end up in a shooting. Anytime I go shopping alone, same thing. I get my stuff, and I quickly move towards the back of the store where I’m slightly more relaxed. Always stay vigilant, never complacent.

Something similar happend in my school like two month ago. it wasn't as intense as this, nobody was hurt, we heard shooting and a few seconds later, a tear gas bomb(that also makes breathing extremely hard)was shot in the yard. we got out of the classes and closed the doors so the gas wouldn't be able to make its was into the halls. Honestly i thought it was pretty cool...cause you know at the end we're gonna die anyway.

I’ve luckily never been in a shooting, but a few months ago there was a bomb threat at our school. They didn’t tell us anything tho all we heard was that we were going into a lockdown over the intercom, it was 15 minutes before school was out so we knew it wasn’t a drill and the intercom lady sounded genuinely scared. I was in foods class so my whole class went into the back kitchen (like 25 kids in a cramped space) our immediate first thought was that it was a shooter because we weren’t told otherwise. Our teacher told us to text our parents and some people were trying so hard not to cry, my friends were holding onto my arm.The scariest part was when the vice principle opened the door to evacuate us out (we didn’t have a view of the door from the kitchen) and we all immediate thought someone broke in and that we were gonna die. Everyone was collectively holding their breath until he said who he was and that we were evacuating. The school was surrounded by cops and when we were leaving the school parking lot the cops had to double check who we were and then told us to get out of there. I had a panic attack when I got home. It was scary knowing that some of my friends were still in the building without knowing what the threat was and if they were ok. Luckily we found out that it was an empty threat sent in by a junior high kid and he got arrested. Still scary tho

december 12, a mother came to my school armed with a gun. we went on lockdown & i was having a full on panic attack because my 8 year old brother was on the floor it happened on. when i got outside and didn’t see him, i started panicking and i felt like i was about to pass out. the younger kids went to a different school while the older kids were outside the school. nobody was harmed, but it could’ve easily escalated if that woman decided she did wanna hurt anyone.

But no. You take my idea on giving everyone respect because YOU DONT KNOW HOW BAD THEY NEED IT, and call it victimizing.
