I’m a 20 year carpenter and this cabin build is awesome. You’re doing great for having little experience. If you store your caulk tubes with the nozzles up all the air will eventually make its way to the top almost eliminating bubbles while you’re caulking.

Since you don't want to make stairs right now,... would about adding a 8 foot screened balcony, and do the stairs later. Like, having a place to sit in July outdoors where the bugs can't get you, a place in winter and spring as a mud room/ gear room. Just an idea, as you asked for comments.
Enjoy your channel, like the way you try out new design ideas. Very creative! Keep up the good work. 👍 We enjoy watching!

    Hello from the Netherlands .
idea for the waste wood : make a fake doghouse as shelter for the generator .
this way the generator is out of the weather conditions and the generator can still run in bad weather
and it looks nice and it is a useful way to dispose of all the wood waste that you have invested quite a lot of time and energy into to make it up.
without making a fire with it.
thanks for the video Ryan .
    Sincerely, Hollandduck

I was thinking as you cut them to length…no way I could do that, because I know I’d screw up one of the top cuts and need to start over.
Looks great. Must say, my gut wrenches every time you say you’re running that table through the planer. As the first name on that table, my vote would be to preserve that in all its raw glory and make a new one.

Great work! That planer works perfectly on a 20 amp circuit, not 15. Eventually you'll get a pitch build up on the rubber feeder rollers causingthem not to grip. When that happens clean them off with paint thinner on a rag. As for the polycrylic not preventing stain, you need to use 3 coats, lightly sanding with fine grit between coats. It will prevent coffee stains and work great for indoor table tops. Thanks for the video!

One of the first things Ryan said was that he was running out of things to do on the outside and that he was going to have to "bite the bullet" and build the stairs. Then he went an entire episode finding other things to do. I really admire Ryan's ability to avoid doing stuff he doesn't enjoy !!!
My juvenille sense of humor is triggered when people comment that they like Ryan's black caulk. But you know what? I love Ryan's black caulk too!
Thanks for the video Ryan, you're caulk is awesome!

Water based polyurethane act like a lacquer, lies on the surface and doesn't penetrate well, three coats dry to a hard durable finish, and coffee stains should just wipe off!

Ryan, the cabin sure is looking nice can't wait to see it finished..The product to use for waterproofing the exterior of cabin is called Australian Timber Oil it's either clear or it comes as a stain and oil. The stuff is great on outdoor furniture so I know it would do the cabin right. How good would that cabin look if you used a cedar tone or one of the other colors contrasting with the black caulk.
