Soos is definitely one of those universally loved characters. While he could never, and should never, be the star of his own show, he is a perfect supporting character for the main cast while also having his own life and personality.
@@jorgitosilva I hate to disagree, but I don’t think Soos falls into that character trope. I don’t think he’s dumb, I think he’s a kid that never grew up. Any Soos centric episode is all about him learning to grow up. Him acting like a child results in him being impulsive, rash, blunt, and socially awkward, but he is aware that he is not normal. Most dumb characters don’t know how dumb they are, but Soos is fully aware of how different he is, which is why he clings so hard to the Mystery Shack, a place where he is accepted unquestioningly. A lot of times, Soos will apologize about his behaviors, knowing that he shouldn’t do them, but has some need to do them. What makes Soos so lovable is his positive qualities; he is genuinely kind, puts others first, fiercely loyal, and extremely dependable.
@@FelixVGs none of that really disqualifies him from The Lovable idiot trope which I think is what they were alluding to. He has skills and really niche specific knowledge, but in a general sense he is definitely a goober
That's something studios and execs don't understand. Some supporting characters are just meant to be supporting, the kind who are allowed to be who they are with little development.
If you didn't notice it, at the end of episode 3, Mabel asked what sweater she should wear: sequins or llama hair. At the beginning of episode 4, she's wearing the Llama sweater.
During the end credits of episode 3, there is a secret code that reads "KH'V VWLOO LQ WKH YHQWV." and Once decoded it reads "HE'S STILL IN THE VENTS." During the end credits of episode 4, there is another secret code that reads "FDUOD, ZKB ZROW BRY FDOO PH?" and Once decoded, it reads "CARLA, WHY WONT YOU CALL ME?"
@@jgawrebel121 Yeah. In Stan's flashback to 30 years ago we see Blubs old enough to work at a grocery store. In Soos's flashback to 10 years ago we see Durland young enough to have braces and acne. And in the present, Blubs has grey hair while Durland doesn't.
Gravity Falls!!!! one of my favorite shows of all time, in all of media! Been finished with it for more than two years now and I can safely say it was a life changing experience love this show and super excited to see your reactions!
MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED In retrospect after having finished the show the wax Stan is actually quite depressing because Stan could be using it as a replacement for his at this point in time presumed to be dead twin
I love this show and I love watching reactors that end up falling in love with it too. My favourite ongoing gag in the show is the TV shows and commercials in the in-world TV. They're so ridiculous and unrealistic in a way that's almost perfectly realistic.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the show, it’s my favorite show of all time. I won’t go into spoilers, but I will say that you haven’t even scratched the surface of the lore and story of this show, it’s so deep
Does anyone else want to agree that if the SCP Foundation existed in Gravity Falls, the town and its many monsters and mysteries would be a field day for them? Also, what object classes would be assigned to the most popular monsters and mysteries?
yeah, I got my first smartphone in around 2013 as well.. and I still was pretty late for that. Also I learned another popcorn technique: if the frequency between one pop to another one isn't less than 2 seconds, it's done. If it's like 3 or 5 you should pull it out. With this I never got burned popcorn.
Stan is like a criminal grandpa that you cant hate no mather what things he do. And Soos is that uncle that does anything no matter how ridicilous to brighten up your day.
@@phrog5794 spoiler after the season 5 finale that's pretty questionable. Definitely not true for before the season 5 finale since the central finite curve was still intact and separated every conceivable universe where Rick was the smartest person in the universe from every conceivable Universe where he wasn't. But could technically be applicable after evil Morty destroyed it
So if you go to 14:09, then you would see Dipper reading journal number 2. That's crazy because when I first watched this on Disney, I didn't catch it the first time but looking back on this master piece of a show and seeing this tells you that there maybe more secrets that we didn't see.
You highly underestimate how many of my friends had an obsession with random facts about assassination and other random dark things in history. That and we role played as cats murdering eachother. Fifth grade was wild man lol
1:27 my grandfather (in the 60s or 70s) dressed up as hitler for Halloween bc he thought it would be funny. It was over 20 after ww2 but still. That is one of the reasons why my grandfather was never president. 😂
Not related to the episodes but to add to @5:00 discussion about when smart phones became common - I transferred from a truly middle class school to a wealthy school in 2013 and the percent of people that had smart phones doubled it was very much a wealthy thing
I was in middle when this came out and most kids had an iPhone 5/ 5c/ 5s around that time or an android like Samsung. 2012/2013 was when I got my first phone I was lucky enough to have parents who could afford to get me one it’s was the pink I phone 5c
I think you very much so underestimate what they teach and at what age when learn that John assonated abbe. I’m gen z and I was raised on cn teennick and Disney xd with all crazy deep shows hence why y’all watch Atla, Amazing world of gumball, Gravity falls, and Steven universe. Hence we as a generation were built different and were way more exposed to media and we understood things sooner than prior generations.

Looking back you realize why gruncle Stan was so freaked out about seeing the wax statue and why he was all chummy with it immediately after.. 😬
It's so sad once you have context TwT

This was such a fun video. I couldn't stop laughing at y'alls reaction to Gideon. "I CAN BUY AND SELL YOU OLD MAN!" Is my absolute favorite moment. 🤣
The guys: Chupacabra and Cuthulu would be interesting!
Alex: A talking Dorito. Most I can do.
A talking Dorito that is powerful enough to destroy dimensions
Alex: take it or leave it
There's literally Cthulu at the end of the show.

The officers were supposed to be a couple but Disney forced them to make them “friends” but Alex did not relent
Yeah they were pretty clearly a couple ^_^
To be fair, the fact that Blubs is like twenty years older than Durland as well as being his superior officer does make it a little bit weird.

In the first episode, Dipper finds journal #3, and mentions the writing stops halfway through. (He also begins to write on the blank pages there)
This show has a crazy amount of hidden and background stuff. Keep your eyes peeled boys.
I just realized Sherlock Holmes was voiced by fucking John Oliver lmao. Couldn't help but to visual him every time he talked.

Headhunters is a really funny episode the first time you watch.
And then you finish the series, and it's not funny.
It's heartbreaking.
;-; some deep rooted trauma
yeah :(
Yeah….
Same with the rug episode. Is all fun and games, until you realize what Stan found in the secret room.
😢 yeah...
i'm glad you're watching this-- hopefully more people will put some respect on western cartoons, like this, amphibia, the owl house ETC-!!

In 2012. Apple was releasing the iPhone 5.
