We never saw her under guardianship. Her manager will and pr lady were not her guardians. Also her family ordering alcohol right in front of her is crazy. The guardian took place towards the end and they stopped filming her when that took place.

If you listen to her best friend’s interview and she talks about how she had to send Wendy food from LA because Wendy would put in an order with the guardianship for breakfast at 7am and she wouldn’t receive anything until 11am/12pm. So when everyone is asking how is she getting liquor… it’s the guardianship and the people around her. The production team was actually questioning everything and they shut filming down! The guardianship was trying to stop the documentary from airing because this was happening under their watch. Yes them ordering liquor in front of her was wild! Nasty work!

Y’all really missing the point. All of the stuff you saw on the screen were under the guardianship. The family wasn’t allowed around her. Everyone is NOT exploiting her. If you missed it, her family interviews were all shot post production excluding when the guardian allowed her to come to Miami. The family isn’t with her because the guardian didn’t allow it. Will and Shawn both are paid through the guardian. Even the documentary being filmed was because the guardian approved it so Wendy could get paid (the guardian controls the money). If you pay attention, you’ll notice that Wendy’s sister Wanda refused to even film if the documentary was about a comeback which is why she’s not interviewed until Wendy was in the facility and doing better at the end. The same is true about all of her family. None of them were with the whole “comeback” that the documentary was originally filmed for. Lifetime said ahead of time that they noticed that Wendy was in decline shortly after filming started. But whenever they would ask Wendy handlers about it, they all denied it and continued to push this comeback. Wendy has been sober in a facility for a year and according to her family, doing much better. It’s clear that the network and the family are trying to get the guardianship overturned in its upcoming review. That’s why the guardian tried to file an injunction at the last minute to stop it. Because they were down with the money at first but didn’t realize how it would look. The purpose is not about educating about dementia. It’s about exposing the guardian NOT taking care of Wendy the same way that Britney Spears exposed the issues with her conservatorship. They aren’t saying she doesn’t need a guardian. I felt like her family were pushing this to so how bad things are going now that she is no longer allowed to be in Florida with them but is in a failing guardianship. Especially the last episode when they were rallying and sneaking to discuss a plan with Wendy. Also, she repeated said how her son and sister hates her drinking. And when she finally visited them, they allowed no drinking the entire time. So I think they want us all to see the sad state of the failing guardianship. Glad she's finally in a facility but her family wants her under their care even without the money (her sister said at the end). Not sure how that was missed by so many people.
She's needs more than that. She doesn't need a personal assistant because her time in show biz is done. She has a degenerative disease that is stripping away her cognition. A home health care assistant would be helpful, but Wendy needs regular care under a neurologist to deal with the issue of her cognitive decline. Beyond that, Wendy has millions of dollars being overseen and controlled by an attorney who is her "guardian". Given that Wendy literally has to contact this woman to get money to order food, you would think said "guardian" would have assessed the situation, and put a chef in place or meal system in place for her...but no she hasn't...and that's an indication that something is clearly wrong with whomever is in charge.

I don’t think it was disrespectful either. It showed insight about how the guardianship system is messed up. I think Wendy does have vultures around her that need to be removed, and I think Wendy needs her family. I was proud of her son. I think maybe this was the son’s last resort to get her help or this might be the rock bottom Wendy needs to get better. Hitting rock bottom is a wake up call for most people. And if this can happen to Wendy, this could happen to anyone.

I think her family was desperate to show that this guardianship is not taking care of her. The people around her were put there by the guardianship and the family saw she was getting worse. At the same time they were blocked from taking care of her due to the gaurdianship.

Wendy had secure a 3-part movie about her life with Lifetime. She did it when she was clear and lucid. So the family had nothing to do with documentary, and in fact the family refused to participate because it was labeled as her coming back to television. The only person that knows how much money Wendy made from the documentary is the guardian. He or she has total guardianship of everything Wendy. Remember, Wendy stated that she did not want her family around because they did not let her drink alcohol. She specifically mentioned her sister Wanda and her son Kevin.
Did y’all not watch the episode? The family did visit her in NY. The niece was clearly there and the sister and nephew talked about when they had gone to NY.

I believe Wendy (of sound mind) would NEVER expose herself in this way but the Documentary was a sh*t show from the start, and she seemed to be of sound mind in the beginning sooooo. I agree with Jess, NONE OF THIS DOCUMENTARY WAS FUNNY! I think contractually, she was obligated to fulfill this commitment as both her and her son signed on as EP's and that it truly took a turn to something they didn't expect. I think the Guardians attempt to block the Doc from showing was in an attempt to protect her from being exposed during her healing present day. Her niece did an interview over the weekend and confirmed Wendy sounds happy and that whatever the Guardian is doing, seems to be working. That says a whole LOT! I think Will is a standup guy and did the best he could and acknowledged that he needs help. He clearly works (or worked) with the Guardian but as you know things take time and we're seeing the beginning of the Guardianship process and being put in place. He very much respected Kevin Jr's ZERO tolerance for alcohol and did his best to make sure it was dryyyy when he was around but again she needed someone 24 hours and it couldn't be him. Shawn Zanotti needs to be in jail for being stupid and to NEVER be allowed around Wendy again. She MOST definitely took advantage of Wendy at a vulnerable time and exposing her to NBC was just RECKLESS. I do think Kevin Jr has his Mother's best interests at heart and I think while she was in his care he may have mismanaged funds or used funds carelessly thinking no one was watching. If that was the case, OWN IT but under no circumstances, should he have been cut off financially and from his Mother PERIOD. EVERYONE including Stevie Wonder can see how much she doted on her son and spent lavishly on him to compensate for her short comings and because she wanted too! I hope Wendy is in a much better place today and when she sees this, she's able to face it with her held high and talkin' the most sh*t about herself. I think her Family and handful of friends learned to do better and be better when taking care of her. The documentary shed light on the failings of the conservatorship. Will and Shawn were allowed all access to Wendy by the guardian and it is when she was under the control of the conservatorship/ guardian her health continued to worsen. She is being failed by the court and the conservatorship and if you watched the last epsiode that was the main concluding point. And I think that in order to get this documentary out (avoiding the guardianship stopping it) the family covertly agreed to it being advertised about her come-back when in fact it was always about the conservatorship.
I think Wendy seemed the most normal when she was around her father. The conversation they had seemed to be the most normal conversation out of all of them.
It seems like they didn’t watch the documentary and take notes. Her family said they kept taking turns to come and visit. Her wigs were definitely looking crazy.

Ugh...The Documentary started back in 2022 wit WENDY pushing to do it. She verified that herself. THE CAMERAS weren't just thrown in her face, like she had minions throw cameras in celebrities faces in the past when they were at they're lowest.
As a person who was Guardian for my grandfather for 11yrs, I’m going to tell you how it works. First they asks the person if they want someone in the family. If you say yes, (as my grandfather named me over my mother, aunt and uncle), you have to go through a background check, including financial. You also have to be able to manage the person’s estate. You have to attain an Estate Attorney. My grandfather didn’t have millions of dollars, Wendy does. At the end of the year you have to go to court and account for all monies spent and all medical information. When it was deemed my Grandfather could no longer live in his house, because it wasn’t safe. I had to move him to a care facility or risk going to jail. I was leaving him signed checks for emergency, he was playing the sweepstakes, like he always did. I had to pay the estate back $6,000.00 or go to jail. You get paid for being a Guardian , I never asked for payment, but had to so I could pay the Estate back. If a family member isn’t approved the court will appoint one for the person. This documentary was filmed a while ago and her family being involved might be why the guardian is keeping them away. The Guardian trying to keep it from airing tells me the court deems it to be harmful to Wendy. My Uncle was deemed harmful to my Grandfather by the court and I had go get a restraining order against him, and make sure he wasn’t allowed in the house. Being a Guardian is a job. My Mom, questioned me about my Grandfather’s money, I told her the court was making me accountable for every penny. The Assistant Living apartment I put him in, which she said she loved, the private nursing staff, the Attorney fees, court fees, cost associated with selling his house, my traveling expenses (which I was made to take for tax purposes), Account to do his taxes for the court , and again I could have submitted payment each year but only did one.
As someone who works in healthcare with experience, you are absolutely right regarding guardianship. Your experience is the normal way that guardianship works, the courts always prefer someone in the family. However, now you have businesses that are professional guardians and are registered with the courts. The courts are now appointing guardians from these businesses. Professional guardians are often given access to the financial accounts of their wards. They can then charge the wards for their services-including for something as small as making a phone call or getting the mail. In Wendy's case it appears that this guardian have total guardianship of all things involving Wendy. In episode 4, an expert by the name of Diane Diamond spoke about the courts have moved away from giving guardianship to a family member and giving guardianship to "professional guardians' who are clueless about the person. She explained that what happened to Wendy is happening to thousand of American in the US. I'm glad that Lifetime did the documentary, it was an eye opener.

We need to bare in mind that filming for this ended last year, and from that time, the family has had limited communication. During filming they still had access to her and was trying to become guardians for her. As soon as the guardianship came in effect, they were shut out almost completely. You can see in the footage that Wendy was more herself with them in Miami. She was eating healthier, sober, and was able to communicate better. She was recovering. Going back to New York to be isolated in that apartment just led to her falling back into her old habits. She surrounded herself with her publicist, who took her to LA and was enabling her drinking and leading her onto this big network meeting when she was clearly not of sound mind. I dont trust the publicist, i dont trust the manager, even if he was taking the booze away and keeping her active.... BUT he was pushing her to do work related shit when she should have been focusing on her health. The guardian need to be removed and investigated
Sad they only see dementia...she has Lshe has Graves disease and lymphedema also so that's the reason for her eyes bulging and her feet looking how they do. She probably has hair loss due to the wigs but also medications and stress so let's give this woman some grace 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I will be praying for Wendy yes divorce isn't easy for a healthy person I can't imagine the mental toll it took on Wendy with all the health issues she has going on. Bruce Willis was still working with dementia. He did direct to dvd/stream movies and had an earpiece for someone to feed him his lines. So people around him knew, they kept it on the hush but he did do interviews too. Thing is, they are coherent enough to be convincing that nothing is wrong yet there's strong signs something isn't.

No this was not disrespectful. It was an eye opener. You can’t blame the family for something they aren’t privy to. I blame the Wendy Williams Show. They knew she wasn’t okay and they wanted her to come back knowing something was wrong with her. The show didn’t protect her.

Y’all really missing the point. All of the stuff you saw on the screen were under the guardianship. The family wasn’t allowed around her. Everyone is NOT exploiting her. If you missed it, her family interviews were all shot post production excluding when the guardian allowed her to come to Miami. The family isn’t with her because the guardian didn’t allow it. Will and Shawn both are paid through the guardian. Even the documentary being filmed was because the guardian approved it so Wendy could get paid (the guardian controls the money). If you pay attention, you’ll notice that Wendy’s sister Wanda refused to even film if the documentary was about a comeback which is why she’s not interviewed until Wendy was in the facility and doing better at the end. The same is true about all of her family. None of them were with the whole “comeback” that the documentary was originally filmed for. Lifetime said ahead of time that they noticed that Wendy was in decline shortly after filming started. But whenever they would ask Wendy handlers about it, they all denied it and continued to push this comeback. Wendy has been sober in a facility for a year and according to her family, doing much better. It’s clear that the network and the family are trying to get the guardianship overturned in its upcoming review. That’s why the guardian tried to file an injunction at the last minute to stop it. Because they were down with the money at first but didn’t realize how it would look. The purpose is not about educating about dementia. It’s about exposing the guardian NOT taking care of Wendy the same way that Britney Spears exposed the issues with her conservatorship. They aren’t saying she doesn’t need a guardian. They’re saying the family should be the guardian. The lady literally had no food in the fridge but her publicist was buying her liquor everyday

Especially the last episode when they were rallying and sneaking to discuss a plan with Wendy. Also, she repeated said how her son and sister hates her drinking. And when she finally visited them, they allowed no drinking the entire time. So I think they want us all to see the sad state of the failing guardianship. Glad she's finally in a facility but her family wants her under their care even without the money (her sister said at the end). Not sure how that was missed by so many people.

She's needs more than that. She doesn't need a personal assistant because her time in show biz is done. She has a degenerative disease that is stripping away her cognition. A home health care assistant would be helpful, but Wendy needs regular care under a neurologist to deal with the issue of her cognitive decline. Beyond that, Wendy has millions of dollars being overseen and controlled by an attorney who is her "guardian". Given that Wendy literally has to contact this woman to get money to order food, you would think said "guardian" would have assessed the situation, and put a chef in place or meal system in place for her...but no she hasn't...and that's an indication that something is clearly wrong with whomever is in charge.
This situation is reminding me of Anna Nicole Smith. I pray for spiritual intervention and healing for Wendy 🙏🏽

Wendy had secure a 3-part movie about her life with Lifetime. She did it when she was clear and lucid. So the family had nothing to do with documentary, and in fact the family refused to participate because it was labeled as her coming back to television. The only person that knows how much money Wendy made from the documentary is the guardian. He or she has total guardianship of everything Wendy. Remember, Wendy stated that she did not want her family around because they did not let her drink alcohol. She specifically mentioned her sister Wanda and her son Kevin.

I believe Wendy (of sound mind) would NEVER expose herself in this way but the Documentary was a sh*t show from the start, and she seemed to be of sound mind in the beginning sooooo. I agree with Jess, NONE OF THIS DOCUMENTARY WAS FUNNY! I think contractually, she was obligated to fulfill this commitment as both her and her son signed on as EP's and that it truly took a turn to something they didn't expect. I think the Guardians attempt to block the Doc from showing was in an attempt to protect her from being exposed during her healing present day. Her niece did an interview over the weekend and confirmed Wendy sounds happy and that whatever the Guardian is doing, seems to be working. That says a whole LOT! I think Will is a standup guy and did the best he could and acknowledged that he needs help. He clearly works (or worked) with the Guardian but as you know things take time and we're seeing the beginning of the Guardianship process and being put in place. He very much respected Kevin Jr's ZERO tolerance for alcohol and did his best to make sure it was dryyyy when he was around but again she needed someone 24 hours and it couldn't be him.
Shawn Zanotti needs to be in jail for being stupid and to NEVER be allowed around Wendy again. She MOST definitely took advantage of Wendy at a vulnerable time and exposing her to NBC was just RECKLESS. I do think Kevin Jr has his Mother's best interests at heart and I think while she was in his care he may have mismanaged funds or used funds carelessly thinking no one was watching. If that was the case, OWN IT but under no circumstances, should he have been cut off financially and from his Mother PERIOD. EVERYONE including Stevie Wonder can see how much she doted on her son and spent lavishly on him to compensate for her short comings and because she wanted too! I hope Wendy is in a much better place today and when she sees this, she's able to face it with her held high and talkin' the most sh*t about herself. I think her Family and handful of friends learned to do better and be better when taking care of her. Wendy's lived a HARD life and yes she chose it but we enjoyed parts of it too, whether it was when she was on the radio or on television. She taught your faves how to do it. The documentary shed light on the failings of the conservatorship. Will and Shawn were allowed all access to Wendy by the guardian and it is when she was under the control of the conservatorship/ guardian her health continued to worsen. She is being failed by the court and the conservatorship and if you watched the last epsiode that was the main concluding point. And I think that in order to get this documentary out (avoiding the guardianship stopping it) the family covertly agreed to it being advertised about her come-back when in fact it was always about the conservatorship.

As a person who was Guardian for my grandfather for 11yrs, I’m going to tell you how it works. First they asks the person if they want someone in the family. If you say yes, (as my grandfather named me over my mother, aunt and uncle), you have to go through a background check, including financial. You also have to be able to manage the person’s estate. You have to attain an Estate Attorney. My grandfather didn’t have millions of dollars, Wendy does. At the end of the year you have to go to court and account for all monies spent and all medical information. When it was deemed my Grandfather could no longer live in his house, because it wasn’t safe. I had to move him to a care facility or risk going to jail. I was leaving him signed checks for emergency, he was playing the sweepstakes, like he always did. I had to pay the estate back $6,000.00 or go to jail. You get paid for being a Guardian , I never asked for payment, but had to so I could pay the Estate back. If a family member isn’t approved the court will appoint one for the person. This documentary was filmed a while ago and her family being involved might be why the guardian is keeping them away. The Guardian trying to keep it from airing tells me the court deems it to be harmful to Wendy. My Uncle was deemed harmful to my Grandfather by the court and I had go get a restraining order against him, and make sure he wasn’t allowed in the house. Being a Guardian is a job. My Mom, questioned me about my Grandfather’s money, I told her the court was making me accountable for every penny. The Assistant Living apartment I put him in, which she said she loved, the private nursing staff, the Attorney fees, court fees, cost associated with selling his house, my traveling expenses (which I was made to take for tax purposes), Account to do his taxes for the court , and again I could have submitted payment each year but only did one.
As someone who works in healthcare with experience, you are absolutely right regarding guardianship. Your experience is the normal way that guardianship works, the courts always prefer someone in the family. However, now you have businesses that are professional guardians and are registered with the courts. The courts are now appointing guardians from these businesses. Professional guardians are often given access to the financial accounts of their wards. They can then charge the wards for their services-including for something as small as making a phone call or getting the mail. In Wendy's case it appears that this guardian have total guardianship of all things involving Wendy.
In episode 4, an expert by the name of Diane Diamond spoke about the courts have moved away from giving guardianship to a family member and giving guardianship to "professional guardians' who are clueless about the person. She explained that what happened to Wendy is happening to thousand of American in the US. I'm glad that Lifetime did the documentary, it was an eye opener.

The family does not know where her location is.
We need to bare in mind that filming for this ended last year, and from that time, the family has had limited communication. During filming they still had access to her and was trying to become guardians for her. As soon as the guardianship came in effect, they were shut out almost completely.
You can see in the footage that Wendy was more herself with them in Miami.
She was eating healthier, sober, and was able to communicate better. She was recovering. Going back to New York to be isolated in that apartment just led to her falling back into her old habits. She surrounded herself with her publicist, who took her to LA and was enabling her drinking and leading her onto this big network meeting when she was clearly not of sound mind.
I dont trust the publicist, i dont trust the manager, even if he was taking the booze away and keeping her active.... BUT he was pushing her to do work related shit when she should have been focusing on her health. The guardian need to be removed and investigated

Bruce Willis was still working with dementia. He did direct to dvd/stream movies and had an earpiece for someone to feed him his lines. So people around him knew, they kept it on the hush but he did do interviews too. Thing is, they are coherent enough to be convincing that nothing is wrong yet there's strong signs something isn't.

@DejaLyric I agree...you never should kick anyone when they are down. Throughout the years, Wendy made a lot of enemies out of people that are in better position to help her more than we are.

@jesshilarious In the documentary the family said they took turns going back and forth to NY trying to help her. Also Wendy started this documentary before she got really bad and has her son as a producer on all her projects with lifetime.
