How do I convince my parents that I look for PC parts and do research about each component not because I want to game with the PC I'm gonna buy for hours but because I'm interested in PC building and learning about it.
@@Sir_stache.Even worse, they'll just make fun of you. It will be more likely that they'll let you buy the parts if you say you need it for school. You just can't expect them to let you spend that much money on a hobby and they probably won't even trust you that you can build it yourself
Techically it’s configured with a config file. But there is a gui app called goverlay which can generate these config files easily, just with a few features missing
As an AMD user I love the Adrenalin Overlay. It has all the same info. Not as customizable I suppose, but I would just have it in the top right like it defaults anyway.
You can also rename the components. For e.g. you can change the "CPU" into any words u want, obviously u can set it to the what CPU u has like tech youtubers do.
@lvcx99 you're on crack I have 2 computers both utilizing am4 and am5 with an rx 6600 and rtx 3080 respectively and the interface and overlay for amd cards is waaaaay better than Nvidia's
I do alot of tweakings, so I always prefer my vertical, easy to read layout... But I only use them like the first or two hours of gameplay while I tweak settings and monitor everything until I meet a perfectly stable set ups... Then I disable it for the rest of the game...
My favourite look is the one the new NVIDIA app’s overlay has: just some white text with a drop shadow or outline in the bottom right corner of the screen. Position is customizable, as is the amount of information it provides.
I have my system specifications showing on my Aio , Asus has a special extreme benchmark that let's you custom the lcd on the Ryujin. The only other overlay I use is the one provided with Adrenalin
Unless you're trouble shooting or love making complex rigs, you really don't need more than GPU and CPU cycles... Or if you know what you're doing and won't be bound by the CPU, literally the FPS is enough.
Zwormz gaming has done a video on how he fully configures Msi afterburner really well too, I’ve been using his version of the overlay to benchmark games ever since and I totally love it
Thanks for letting me know about this cool feature You have helped me through a hard time and my life as my parents have gotten divorced after 16 years of marriage… Love you Zack
I swear in my Abraham Lincoln's grave! Everything I do with my pc or researching something bout it, Zach always uploads at the right time. It's creepy crazy
You can -sort of, already do this on AMD overlay, with columned option enabled it will be flat and you can centered it with positional settings and customized it's color.
HWinfo has similar functionality but even more minimalist. if you want instead of game overlay you can have taskbar stats that only appear in the lower right corner or even only in the hidden icons
Anyone else have a custom design that I can try?
😘
Yeeee another banger
Lawn mowing simulator theme???? 😂

This but unironically

Thanks for the shout out! Glad you found it helpful
Thanks for putting this out there, I'm going to try it.
Subbed brudda
That looks clean asf
A lighter weight HUD exists for us Linux people. It's called Mangohud and uses a GUI app to set it up.
Techically it’s configured with a config file. But there is a gui app called goverlay which can generate these config files easily, just with a few features missing
I use Linux on my test benches and some other systems, but Steam doesn't work or at least to my ability in Linux. Are you able to use Steam on yours?

It is customizable to a degree, but not this much.
Also using AMD Adrenaline overlay. Top center, 10 rows, no fill, magenta and turquoise color scheme.
Dynamic Island in PC 💀
definitely going to stick with default one because i like it
Didn’t realise lol ty for telling me
Completely dismisses 1% lows

Thats clean as hell
Love the videos Zach ❤
That looks way cleaner
amd adrenaline overlay left the chat
Its not that good
only Indians actually buy amd, and all they can afford is an rx580

dynamic island apple style overlay

that's actually helpful 🙌
Finally useful info! Thanks
This was really good advice. Thank you! And I feel like W and temperature almost go hand in hand in most systems…😅
as someone still using an am3 cpu. seeing anything below 100 is a godsend
Day 20 of asking for a CPU comparison chart next to the GPU comparison one
MSI Afterburner reminds me of when I used to always overclock my GPU

That's fantastic! My current overlay is too distracting. 😀
Always using custom msi afterburner appereance and my personal settings since 2012.
Thank you very much, for this video
Having it in the middle is way more distracting than the corner, plus the black background covers it up more than the default
Broo i prefer like this thank you
Ty for always filling me with your juicy content 🙏
Yes, I only customized it when usung handheld where screen size is more limited
Bro, you are gaoted, man🎉
Mangohud is what people on Linux use.
I wonder if someone has managed to make it look like the final result shown here.
of course! this is MangoHUD👁️👄👁️
I use zworms' overlay for afterburner, its not as clean looking but it does display a bunch of stuff while still staying small asf
That's is soo clean

Nah man this looks too good. Doesn’t feel technical enough
AH YA, like going into the setting tabs was so difficult
I just use the KDE Plasma 6 built in system monitor sensors on my second monitor.
To be fair the default look is iconic
AIDA has built in customizable overlay, nice to keep on second screen. Got myself graphs in theme of fallout terminals
Unless you're trouble shooting or love making complex rigs, you really don't need more than GPU and CPU cycles... Or if you know what you're doing and won't be bound by the CPU, literally the FPS is enough.
Nah I like the orange obstruction on my view
wow thanks for the tip like 10 years after i learned it
if you can give on monitoring CPU temp, just use NVIDIA overlay... and for temp monitoring, you can open core temperature in the background
switched to amd overlay a year ago. highly customizable and I just love it
What was your call sign in the military and how did you get it?

This looks like the preform overlay on Oppo phones
Nvidia has one similar to that one as well.
Zwormz also made one that I like as it still keeps some similarity to the OG afterburner
