  • Review of the AA rated Knox Urbane MK2 Pro. The jacket that can be worn on its own with no other jacket required. See what I think now the weather is better!

Always good to see a well thought out review of bike gear by someone not trying to sell it. 👍🏽

It's too tight under the arms for my taste. I know the argument is that it has to be tight to keep the armour in place, but if they used bigger pieces of armour like Rukka do, this wouldn't be an issue. I live in northern Thailand nine months a year and this jacket, whilst it flows air, must make your back sweaty, it is so tight. Rukka do a fantastic mesh jacket, but it's very expensive.
    Decent review. Nick J

I will give Rukka a look. Sorry Nick I thought I replied to your message earlier in the week. Hope you are having a good weekend!

This is very true Nick. I owe the MK1 for three years now and it's too thick and too hot for high climate countries. I always sweat in it and its uncomfortable to layer with. Do you have any alternative?
Perhaps the Action Pro Shirt MK2 ?
It appears to be much much thinner whilst also giving decent protection - at least for me.

@@yardenl1998 I know of one. I'll look it up and give you a link. English company. Forgotten their name but I'll find it. Give me 15 minutes. Nick

Here it is, yardeni. Not cheap, maybe a bit tight under the arm but you could go one size bigger. Looks a lot better than Knox's stuff, and I bet it lasts better. Nick

love the bike what reg is it ,and if you dont mind a personal question whats your inside leg measurement ,Im weighing up buying a t100 but think it may be a bit tall for my 29-30 inch leg , im subscribing because if you decide to sell it I want to be thw first to know 😀

      Heya, thanks for watching
I am about 28 inch leg, so I think you will be ok. Decent boots help, my Lewis Leathers have a little heel on them and that helps as does good tread. Also a street twin seat is lower so perhaps changing over to one of them is an option to explore
      If I sell it I will let you know 😉, it’s 2019.

    Knox Urbane Pro Mk3
I purchased the Knox Urbain pro Mk3 in July 2023. I’m a weekend warrior and I’ve put less than 40 hours of use on my jacket when the cuffs began to fray. I wrote the company directly as well as sending photos, to which they responded , that the frayed cuffs were a result of repeated abrasion from gloves, or likely wear from the Velcro closure on gloves. They said that they would not replace the jacket or refund my money. I was disappointed to say the least, particularly when “abrasion resistance“ is the company’s advertisement lead. Clearly, the material used at the cuffs is flimsy at best, and inconsistent with the durability of the rest of the jacket. I pride myself on taking meticulous care of my equipment, and for the company to suggest that the use of gloves on a motorcycle jacket caused this premature wear and damage is ridiculous and outrageous. These companies have a captive audience as well as regulatory capture to inflate their prices, and to advertise an abrasion resistant armored shirt that is now literally falling apart at the seams after less than 40 hours of use is shameful.

Similar issue with my Urban Pro gloves, the not cheap gloves look tatty after just a couple of months. If they had put the hook side of the velcro on the glove and not on the flap this wouldn't have happened. Also the Micro-Lock badge is just where you pull the gloves on so one has come off already. My wife reckons they need to give the designs the once-over by a woman. PS the Moto Guzzi V7 is just great for pint sized folk.
