Il stick with my 24 model it has everything i need and no plastic mudguards or weird looking ofset digital clock why would they do this 🤔
The speed 400 dial is better than this. No way a digital display in a classic bike. They could have upgraded the twin dials but not this. 🤮
Cool video. Subscribed
Thank you Steve!
Stunning, please can you prepare new videos with the 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 on other routes Great job friend !
@@MyriamErazo-yg4nm thank you, I wish I could but it’s not my bike. And on the Isle of Wight there is only one tiny dual carriage way so hard to vary it up!
Debating between this and the 900
@@TwixedIt1427 I haven’t ridden the current 900 sadly, I actually wanted to try it but they didn’t have one. But from what I remember of the one I rode in 2019 I had heck of a lot of fun on it. I would go for the 900 myself
Thank you for the insightful video and the beautiful scenic views of the Isle of Wight- I'll get there one day. I prefer the outgoing 1200 with the twin clocks, and I think it's more aesthetically pleasing to the eye especially the petrol now emblazoned with 1200.
I have to say I think you are right on the clocks. Certainly thankfully for my basic twin clocks on my T100!
Great view.Where did you put the mic for the exhaust.
@@NoNameMotoTV thank you, I put it in the back of my jacket in the armor pouch
It does look good
Vibes are a personal thing. The only way to find out if it's your type of vibe is ride one. I've got an HD that at some rpm the mirrors are useless and it's enough to cause blurred vision. It's just one of the things I really like about it.
@@theodavies8754 very true, I didn’t find the vibes an issue as it certainly gave it character. It’s just a little funny that the new one vibrated more than the one that is over 50 years old 😂 I need to try a HD!
@pintsizedbiker mine is on my channel, It fits me with forward controls and buckhorns at 5"7. The controls wouldn't be good for much shorter. Clutch is heavy but that can be modified. My 6"4 friend tried it and the bars hit his knees. Probably try a sportster from around 2000 or earlier. My first HD was a new 883 in 1988. Chain drive, 4 speed and solid engine mount. I wanted a Vincent black shadow but that didn't work out. I went on the back of a commando 750 at 15. Never owned one.
Off center speedo aint it, nah. Literally won't buy it cause of that. I'd rather have one eaxtra with just revs in it. Literally looks trash.
Triumph could end up like KTM if they don't change quickly. Royal Enfield is making better retro bikes than Triumph (one market segment Triumph dominated) and in every other category I would prefer something else than a Triumph. Triumph thinks they are British Harley, they are not. Triumph believe they can maintain high prices and give punters TFT displays like this thing (Bear 650 does it better). We have been here before............
Great review mate! Loved my T100
Sorry that dial looks crap
Din Nortonär bara skitt cyklingdiare färg framgaffel Roul enfiel avgasrör Made in india och 20 fel inte värd dom pengar dom begär indiska Mopetdelar nej nej
Not my bike.
Off-center dials... Why Triumph, why? It was bad enough when Royal Enfield and Moto Guzzi did it, but now you want to jump in on the action as well? Get a grip, please.
The offset clock would drive me crazy.
It didn’t annoy me as much as I thought it would. But dual clocks or at least centered would be better for sure! The ones on the RE look worse, totally don’t get it
@@pintsizedbikeri suppose they’re concerned about blocking the view… or something. Goodness knows where this silly trend came from but I can’t wait to see it disappear.
They really messed up with that digital clock. Imagine going from dual beautiful clocks to that offset trash. If you want a 1200 just buy 2024 version
Seems like a solid ride other than that slightly offset clock. Even watching it through your ride triggered my ocd. Surprised theyre not offering a retro guage cluster like bmw did for the r9t
Good point on copying BMW, I really wasn’t a fan of the BMW tablet like display.
Thruxton lite. Buy a thruxton if you can find one.
and if you have the money...
You are pretty lucky to be riding that motorcycle on such beautiful roads
Yes very much so, I don’t live on the island but visit often as family are there. This bike is probably overkill for the island though. 900 would be more than enough
I'm another pint sized biker. 160cm & I found the old 1200 to be a little to tall for me, thats why I've booked the 900 instead
@@kyakaruvlogs2784 my first choice was to test the 900 but they didn’t have one available. I recall the old 900 I rode in 2019 feeling like putting on a comfortable pair of gloves. Hopefully I can try a new one soon.
@@pintsizedbiker I'm expecting mine to come hopefully by Spring
@ let me know what it’s like! I recall it being really sprightly as it had more bhp than my T100 and lighter too.
@@pintsizedbiker I shall keep you updated when it does arrive. Cheers
My wife has the 900. I ride it from time to time. Solid sounding bike, only issue is no 6th gear and if you're 5'10" you'll feel a bit large on it. It's well suited for someone 5'8" or under in my opinion
You should put info how tall You are ;) I'm 5'7 (170cm) so all reviews by other short riders are nice to see. 👌
@@slimakfoto good point I should add a caption. I might be able to add it after, I will take a look.
Another good review. You have allwys put your height and inseem on your reviews
5.7 here too.... I guess I might look dwarf
The 2025 Speed Twin 1200's (both versions) arent a patch on the outgoing versions visually - that offset speedo unit! what were Triumph thinking?? and the 'orrible headlight and mounting hardware - I wouldnt mind if it could be changed for aftermarket stuff, but the design is such that you dont seem to be able to do so. for me, I'll stick with the proper retro looks of my 2019 1200 Thruxton R, and if I was in the market for buying a Speedy 1200, it would be a 2024 or earlier version. This one's not for me..😑
The 2019 doesn't have cruise control and a throttle lock is not cruise control.
Totally agree with you!! I’ll keep my 2023 👍
Just what do you need cruise control for on a motorcycle? Fancy catching a nap or something?
@@thepodbaydoorshal is that a joke or something
The craftsmanship of BSA motorcycles is unmatched, a real treat for enthusiasts.
Finally, a bike that captures the essence of vintage motorcycling while offering modern reliability.
Isnt this bike 835mm stock? Are you lowered it?
@@emir8942 I’ve read both 81 and 83cm, but this was stock and straight out show room on their demo bike
good value for money hahahah must have money to burn buying an absolute relic
How tall are you?
@@alexd5594 5ft 4
can you do a review of the tiger 900 gt? the regular gt, not the low one...
I’ve just seen the seat height of that! I might struggle with that one. I will have a look next time I am in a triumph dealership
Royal Enfield makes a lower seat for the Classic 350. I watched a review earlier today. The rider was under 6', and the low seat made it possible to flat foot while on the bike. He said it was lower by about 24mm, 1". As to power, My understanding is that there is quite a significant increase in power as the engine breaks in. I have heard a few new owners say that when they picked up their new classic 350 they immediately felt that they had made a big mistake, but after the engine broke in, the power delivery was much more in keeping with what you would expect from a 350 single.
That does make sense, and reminds me of how engines used to be when they were a bit tighter from new.
A new video is the best early Christmas present!
Aww thank you. I’ve got the 2nd half of this to post later in the week which will be better and then I will get down to doing some proper ones again in 2025 😊
Fantastic review - thanks! Not watched you before so subbed - and funny, I was actually going to ask about your gloves!!
Thank you I really appreciate it 😊
You should wait until the clock needles return to their start position and the system check is complete before starting the motor. If you start the motor straight away, it can cause a problen with the engine check light remaining illuminated. I always let the check sequence finish before I start the motor on my BSA Gold Star 650.
Great bike. I think I'd like one if I had the money for a second bike after a more practical first bike. The name isn't that difficult really. R12 Nine T = 4 syllables 🥇 R1300GSA = 7 syllables Multistrada V2S = 7 syllables Z900RS SE = 8 syllables Tiger 900 GT Pro = 8 syllables 😂
@@bikegeist was difficult for me rushing to get a video made in 90 mins 😂 R12 will do
Contemplating going back to biking after quite a few years. Thinking about a T100 or a T120. What are we talking for service charges on these machines in the UK, seen some horrendous service bills from Triumph. No, I can’t service myself, I could break an iron ball, useless with spanner’s. Any info appreciated.
Both would be a great choice. I love my T100. Serving wasn’t crazy money but going through Triumph was more than a standard garage but needed for the warranty. If you get a used one that is out of warranty then go through a trusted independent workshop
I am wondering whether big single and Euro5 just don’t combine well.
That’s a fair point.
Really enjoyed that and the way you presented..............
Thank you, I really appreciate that as it’s all very on the spot with usually only 2 hours with the bike to ride and film!
I have T120, and you have it just about spot on...........
Picking up a T100 in a week and I’m 5’4”, after watching this I’m more confident in my decision
You will love it! What colour?
The Triumph 400 is 10mm higher. But, to me both felt the same. Am on tippy tip toes, on both. So for me, would require a lowered link.😊
Much better and appealing that the Triumph 400.
@@hughphillips1427 hopefully will try one soon to see what it is really like. The colours remind me of the 90s
Thanks for video
Love the T100. I've had one for a year now. Great machine.
Vibrator
I’m a complete novice at riding motorcycles, but the bike is just fine on it’s side stand on a sea ferry? Anyway, thanks for a relaxing ride and now I want a Bonneville.
@@mennoafink1351 heya, I thought that at first but it’s totally fine. I’ve done countless times and had no issues. The ferry doesn’t move that much really so all good Thank you for watching that is really kind and appreciated
ECU needs reprogramming. New bikes come with this fix already.
It seems like you're the only one who has reviewed these boots so far. I'm considering them despite the premium price because they look incredibly stylish. Do you think they're durable enough for everyday wear? Are they waterproof? Have you had a chance to wear them in the rain or snow? I'd really appreciate any insights you can share about their performance in those conditions.
Hi, thank you for watching. I am on my 2nd pair. The first pair I did wear everyday about for about 10 years, admittedly rarely in snow but constantly in the rain. I wouldn’t say they are waterproof but at the same time are more than up to the job. After a ride in considerable rain they do need to dry naturally. I would often let them get utterly filthy and then a good polish would return them to almost like new. Goldtop do a range of similar boots now so they are worth a look if you are anywhere near their shop. But I would still choose these given the option.
I won’t be using these in snow, but it does rain quite a bit where I live. I considered the Goldtop boots, which are similar, but I think the design on these looks better. I wish I could visit a store to decide in person, but I’m in the US. If these boots can last me 10 years, I’ll be more than satisfied!
@ I think you will be happy with them. They feel stiff at first but they supple up very quick. The style of these are above the Goldtop. Mine are road racer, my Dad wore the racing boot which don’t have the padding at front but are a bit more loose. Road racer is a bit more 70s
I asked LL about the difference between the 177 and 178. They said both are excellent, but they personally prefer the ones like yours because of the padding. I’m still undecided, though. I wish there were more reviews on them, similar to the ones for Rev’it, Rokker, and Stylmartin. I just want to be sure they’ll age well and won’t fall apart over time!
@ the only thing that wears quickly-ish is the sole padding. My first set I got redone with a commando style sole that then lasted forever
Lets be honest this bike is not a BSA Gold Star, it is a cheap, crappy, third world produced bucket of cachu. This pathetic replica must really suit the cheapskate wallets, anyone with any sense (especially those ageing nostalgia seeking wanabee's) should save a bit more of their pension and buy a "proper" bike. Maybe an easy first purchase, but don't kid yourselves, you will try hard to convince yourself you have a nice "new bike", bit your joy will soon become dulled when you try to part ex. even for another BSA or Royal Enfield replica, used prices of these pathetic counterfiets are falling like lead balloons in a bucket of water. The "assemblers" (for they are not makers) of these jokes can't even give it a proper tank badge.............
So what do you ride that is so much better?
Yea get an "original" and spend 360 days in a garage (waiting for parts) and 5 days on the road. I meanwhile will spend 5 days in a garage and 360 riding.
Yeah, ride , enjoy, don't put down good bikes. I've got an Enfield 350 and a Gold star, both beautiful reliable bikes😊
Cos we've all got 20k for a show pony
