- a little look on what i've been up to this past week during isolation. i really can't believe any of this is happening. none of this feels real? it feels like we're in an alternate universe?? something is just off. i guess i missed my last chance to be a teen in a coming of age movie. i also found out some things i've been excited for awhile like vidcon and the audrey mika concert were postponed. so now i feel like my life is at a pause. there's nothing to really look forward to. anyways on a more positive note (cuz i feel like i've just been constantly sad lately ew) i've just spent this entire "break" procrastinating and learning tik tok dances lol. hope you guys are being safe and healthy. make sure u guys are social distancing (if possible ofc ik some people don't have the privilege of doing so)!! plz plz plz so everything can get back to normal faster. i've seen a lot of people ignoring the importance of distancing and i'll name them lmao jk. anyways i'm gonna go.

i kinda feel sad about this whole situation too. like, i’m just a tiny eighth grader but i want to finish middle school with good memories. this makes me even more sad for seniors like dustin who might not be able to graduate the traditional way. they won’t be able to finish their high school experience and it makes me so sad :( this quarantine is draining me and even though i’m a huge introvert, i love talking with friends and texting them is just not enough for me.

Im also an eight grader and we had exams in early march..eight graders are supposed to be the only ones in our school who get vacations after giving these exams so i was really excited and made all these plans only to watch them crush right on the day my exams ended.my sister also had a lot of fun when she. I know i might sound a bit sensitive considering our seniors who were giving their CIEs are even more stressed rn about their exam scheds and totally missed out on their last day of school and all that but i cant help but feel bad:(

I’m so sorry you can’t experience the ending of your senior year. I graduated last year and the end of high school is already bitter sweet I got hecka emo on the last day but one thing you can count on is if you made really close friends they still stay your friends in college so that maybe one thing you have to look forward to. Our school was small enough to have all the seniors in a group chat and our school was pretty lame and didn’t give us those cool senior sunset things and event so we made our own . So maybe if possible you can try to set that up with friends at the very least to have your goodbyes once this whole thing blows over
I'm also a senior graduating from high school this year and in my city, we've haven't been back to school since winter break last year in december, i just hope we're not graduating through zoom or some online platform :<

I didn’t really believe it till they said that we weren’t going back to school till April...when you started talking abt how that may have been your last day of high school I got sad. I’m a freshmen so I guess I don’t have to worry but I just started dating and making closer friends. My girlfriend lives a mile away yet she’s so far because of this pandemic. I don’t like school with a passion but I really do wish to go back...

Everyone told me the same thing you said about your friends growing apart, but I'm of the thinking that if they care about you (and don't like move away, cause that's an exception), once you're out of high school, you're a bit more grown and have more freedom, and you can make time to see each other. It's been 2 years since I graduated and I still see my closest friends almost every week, and my other friends usually at least once a month or more. It does suck that it's your senior year.. things will get better!

This might sound weird but I’m glad there are content creators who are my age that are documenting how our c/o 2020 is being affected. I’m subscribed to other wonderful people on UA-cam as well like BestDressed (4 years older) and stuff, but it hits slightly more personal with Dustin since we’re the same age, going through the same things. Even Dustin watching Aisha Rae-things like that make me grateful that I can relate to these content creators. I think content creators have a large role especially during these times to give us a sense of distraction from all the bad news. And I don’t know... I guess it’s just nice to watch a video and feel like “oh yeah it me. I’m not alone.”
It sucks being a senior and having to experience all of this. It all feels very unreal, its nice to hear someone else is dealing with it too. Not that that’s nice but its comforting I guess to know we are not alone and all of class of 2020 is going thru it. Thanks for sharing your emotions I appreciate it because I also struggle with suppressing my emotions and it felt good to look at things for what they really are and knowing our emotions are valid, of course our cancellations are not on the same degree of negativity as other things like peoples lives being taken and more but everyone is experiencing life changing events rn and although they might not be the on the same level people are experiencing loss and are valid with whatever emotions are running through them. Hope you feel okay soon.

I live in Australia and our school year ends at a different time to you guys so I graduated earlier but I understand your struggle and your frustration is so valid. Everyone dreams of finally graduating and being an adult when they're kids and getting that taken away can be heart wrenching.
I'm currently in first year of University and it's going online for at least the next 3 months so its super hard to make friends since we don't get to see each other in person. 🥺
