Loved the music to that show. I remember the show being screened on a Friday evening over here in the UK when I was growing up (I am63 now). Definitely got to learn this one.
I'm also in UK and a similar age, 65... great memories. Damian great playing, and that Gretsch is beautiful! Those b5, #5 and augmented chords really give this theme it's sound. By the way, which model Gretsch are you playing?
Damian I am amazed you even know about the Perry Mason show let alone the theme song. You probably were not even born when the show went off the air in 1966. A very cool melody indeed!
If I had not known the theme is from the Perry Mason series, I would’ve thought it would make a great film noir soundtrack. I had no idea it was so interesting and superbly composed. That chord progression has such great stuff going on, and of course the melodic makes me wonder whether something bad might be about to happen but also leaves me unable to look away. Fantastic!
I remember the show, I started listening more to this time period of clean tone, you can really here each note clearly, nice guitar ,lovely tone, great playing
New Gretsch! You and family have a Awesome day! God Bless you and as always thank you for your essential riff laden info and inspiration from the heart, much appreciated!
THAT IS SOOOOO COOOOL! I know what I am learning this week! I remember watching this on TV when I was a little kid. Crank up the gain a bit and this could be made into something very malevolent sounding…
I'm tempted to say this is absolutely the coolest thing you've done yet, but I seem to say that after ALL your videos!! Well... it is!! Just fantastic, as is your upbeat personality and always inspiring message-- THANK YOU!! Keep rockin' and being your cool self!! 👍😊
Memories..I remember my mom watching this show. I was in grade school at the time and hated it. But I believe I’ll give the theme song a try. It sounds pretty cool …😎. Thanks for all you do!
I hated it as a kid too but I watched it on freevee this morning and it's a solid show. You get to see some nice classic cars = Perry was driving a 57 Bel Air in the one I watched, and you see how things have changed so much. One thing that really stuck out to me is many of the women are referred to by their husband's name if they are married. It's not "Sue Smith" it's "Mrs. John Smith"
Hi Damian , sorry to be such a pain, but I still can't find the Backing Track you used for this great tune, I'm well into the lead but for the life of me I can't get the BT. Liked your link up with Randy & Tom by the way. B
Thanks for putting this out there, Besides this Song, Have wanted to find Guitar Theme for "The Virginian" on Guitar with Tabs. Couldn't find either til now. Can you do " The Virginian". Cool if you could, and think you can, no one else has. Later. Stratmando
way kewl. can you do a guitar version of the theme song from the old alfred hitchcock show ? it's an old classical piece from Gounod called "Funeral March of a Marionette". I play it on piano but haven't tried to transpose it to guitar as of yet.
Thanks for watching. If you do a google search for "perry mason tv theme backing track". One of the first things that comes up was the backing track I used. :)
@@Damianblf Thanks Damian but the one I found doesn't sound much likes yours, I did google it but it's not the one you used , so I don't know where it is B
Perry Mason was a "no go" in my house. He wasn't an Astronaut, he wasn't a Secret Agent and he wasn't a Beatle. So who cared?😁 Great theme song though.

Very popular in our house when I was a kid. Swagger is definitely the right word to describe the mood of this song.

Very cool song, didn't know it existed. The end chords have that Beatles song vibe.
Yes, It kinda reminds me of the end to "You Never Give Me Your Money". Thanks for watching. :)
@@Damianblf thanks for showing me the Beatles song too,and that song has that Gary Moore Still Feel the blues progression lol.

The tabs are good --- but what really makes this song is the bass line.

Always thought Park Avenue Beat was cool. I watch Perry Mason with my 93 year old mom quite a bit. What model Gretsch is that?
It's a special edition G5230 Electromatic Jet FT. It can only be bought at Chicago Music Exchange or at Andertons. Thanks for watching. :)
What model is that Gretsch? I looked through their website but couldn't identify it!

But he was in the American version of Godzilla (King of the Monsters) lol.
Thanks for watching. :)
Are you available to play shows? What is your booking contact if so?
Hello, you can send me a message through my website.
Thanks & Keep on rockin' :)
Why is it the late fifties and early sixties had the best themes?
Thank you for watching. :)
Where did the drum part come from? Did you play it, Damien?
I did not play the drums. I had purchased a backing track.
Chords?
If you watch the entire video, I go over the chords played in the song. :)
@@Damianblf sorry. Thanks for the chords.
