Excellent video! I actually got to be Uchimataed by the legend, Hidehiko Yoshida at a seminar around 15ish years ago. I'd never been and still havent felt so completely powerless and weightless in my life. It didnt even feel like he touched me. I cant really describe it It was simply bizarre. Also had a proper match against Kazuhiro Nakamura the same day. The strength snd control they have is baffling. Amazing memories.
Might as well share one of my own. Two highest level people I’ve done judo with are Saito and Takato, but the craziest I’ve ever been thrown is by a police guy who had a win over Keiji Suzuki back in the day. My typical defense against haraigoshi is to put an elbow in their side, but this guy managed to throw me so high and hard despite my defense. All I felt was his ankle on my knee and my elbow in his side, it was ridiculous.
I had the opportunity to see Ono demonstrate and break down Uchi Mata. To demo the dynamics he had uke bend forward and head down, then he swooped in with his leg and flipped uke over without gripping. His lifting leg (thigh) is like a loaded spring. Also because of his flexibility, after swinging the leg up he does a full circle by rotating the leg forward like Yoshida at 0:15. Great video!
@@JudoHighlights2015 a few years ago he was on a trip overseas and his university kohai was an exchange student in that country so managed to invite him to our club. Can’t state how lucky and overwhelmed we all were :)
I don't know how you do but you always do a great job for judo lovers! Good info comes from your videos. Also, congrats for pushing that numbers higher ... over 90K happy subscribers. Glad to see that! Keep going ... and let's see the next 100K. 3 X Bravo ! Cheers ...
With the new rule sets, wondering Ono style of Uchimata is gonna be as effective. My son go Hansokumake with failed Uchimata going head first in first grader, and was used to be junior category of Hansoku. But with new rules, seems like lil missed angle and forced break out from Uchimata can cause head first throw and meanwhile defense that used to defend it with head spin is no longer available. Perhaps cleaner Uchimatas may appear more to the judo world. Thanks bunch for the great video and always interesting analysis

Tobikomi uchi mata is easily my favourite

Where’d you see that? I would love to see him break down his Uchi mata. And yeah, that swingy thing, Maruyama does it too

Can you make a maruyama and Ono uchi Mata breakdown video?🔥(more details than inn this video) 😇🥋
Yeah I’ve been meaning to make a Maruyama breakdown
Can you make a video about different types of seoi nage?
That’s a good idea!
As an uchi Mata player this video helped me alot, thank you
Glad to hear it!
In japan do judoka only do the "hane goshi" uchimata in their nage komi. If so, how do they alter it to attack done the middle, or reap the other leg.

I think they should just allow it. Sometimes the IJF handholds a bit too much
Left out abe uta?
Nagase, Inoue and Ono, definitely very unique. The rest look all the same to me.
Maruyama's uchi mata looks almost undefendable... I think I have only seen Abe been able to block it in recent times.
