Thanks!
Your support is greatly appreciated 🙇🏻♂️you're very kind.
Your channel is my favorite. Your presentations are well researched, organized, thoughtful, and useful. Please continue the great work.
Thank you
Hane Goshi and Uchi mata are two different throws, the Japanese have blurred two variations together. One is a spring-hip action, and the other is an inner thigh sweep, they're two different actions. There is a throw that few people know called "Hane Uchi Mata"; which is a high Hane Goshi. Ask the Japanese to show that throw, it's unique technique that's been lost in time.
There are many variations to each technique - classically, the throws are dissimilar.
I'll look up Hane uchi mata
Amazing video, Chadi. Love learning some history of Judo
🙇🏻♂️
Awesome video as always, can't wait for the podcast, thank you for sharing 😊.
Thank you very much for watching
Have you ever done a video on the different fulcrums used in uchi mata? I've seen videos, instructionals, etc. on the various steps, grips, and kuzushi involved, but I feel like there's a lot to be said for variations of directionality of the hands and using either the hip or thigh as a fulcrum at the opponent's thigh or hip.
Uchi mata o golpe mais bonito do judô 👍

I like that you post a link to your sources. Well done video.

Hello there Chadi,
I'm a student of striking martial arts, for nearly 8 years, and will have my black belt in a year or so.
Other than 4 classes of judo I know nothing of grappling. But goooodddaaaammm your videos are so good they make me consider whether I should have picked up judo from the beggining.
Never stop making them :)
My pleasure 🙇🏻♂️
Excellent vid Chadi. My personal view on Maruyama's. Uchi-mata is that it is an Advanced version of the classic one. If beginners are watching clips of his matches, I would remind them that it is better to learn the classic entry, gripping and throw. Master it, and only then modify it to suit your particular game. Cheers.
I agree
My favourite throw, and effective too
Indeed
I love Uchi Mata, but it is so difficult to do well
Hey chadi can you make a video about the 32 principles of bjj made by the rener and ryron, I would love to hear your thoughts on it
Back when I actively practiced, I didn’t use Uchi mata. When I come back to the mat, I’m eager to use it in randori
Best of luck
Ho Chadi thanks for another great podcast, is there an English version of this book?
Unfortunately no, digging these books is hard work, you need to know some Japanese
@@Chadi Guess then I'll have to learn then but thanks for the update - OSS
Do you get all of the donations to your channel? Or do you have to give percentage to Apple?
Revenue yes, donations no
Please make a video on jujitsu throws
Sure

As they say in Italian "uchi mata wit you!?"
Clever
What do you think is easier: learning uchi mata knowing hane goshi or learning hane goshi coming from uchi mata?
Based on my own experience, and the knowing now the Japanese perspective, I'd say learn Hane goshi first.
