Everything I have seen about wait times to relative value pushes me to CBCS. I have yet to have anything graded, but your video comparisons have really done wonders towards me getting ready for that leap! Thanks so much for these!
Thanks for the words, very much appreciated and makes the effort worth while to know people are getting value from the videos. I would generally recommend cbcs for anyone that has never submitted for grading before
Thank you for making this video! Rightly or wrongly, CGC seems to have the best re-sale value so it seems to be the right choice for most books. A case can be made for CBCS as an option, but for PGX...not so much.
How did you not include Turnaround Times! This is the most important thing IMO. CGC has books of mine that are 8 months out and still haven't been graded! PGX got me my books in 24 days total from the day they received! PGX is 1/3 the price, 1/12 the Turnaround time, and 3/4 the resale value! Perfect for books under $1000.
Turn around times were covered in a different video with customer service. ua-cam.com/video/USTTOCFrp3g/v-deo.html I did a whole series with each video diving into every aspect Thanks for commenting!
I think the bigest question people need to ask is the comics they want graded is, "do I want to sell this later on or do I just want it for my personal collection" both are valid, personally my comics are sentimental to me, and so I am sending them to cgcs because they have high quality, low prices and better cases
CBCS for personal collection all day (prefer their cases, labels and consistency)...CGC for resale (with fingers crossed that the gorilla in encapsulation doesn't mangle my books) as the market still deems CGC to be higher value.
If your looking to resell go CGC… no one else demands top dollar yet as CGC. If your looking for speed and just personal collection I’d say go cbcs, the uv protection and not having to reslab in ten years is a plus. Pgx East is trying to make a come back but I can only see this being used as a temporary holder until CGC and cbcs turn around times become realistic again
CBCS seems like a solid all around choice, CGC has that notion of having the best resell...but I don't know if thats actually true for all cases. I might try and look at that too as part of these comparisons. I agree about PGX if you just want fast turn around times and to put it in your PC. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If I am forced to stay within the restraint of purely on a submission basis, CGC is the clear winner. They have lots that can be improved but they do make it easy to at least get your books to them.
I am CBCS fan, will not use PGX the comics move in the slab and the slabs feel cheap. I think that CBCS has the stronger of the two slabs of CGC and CBCS
what happens if i submit to cgc or cbcs and then i move, will the order be shipped to old address?? or new address when i update it?? please help Thank You
I returned back to the hobby about 8 months ago after a 3 decade break. Here’s what I quickly observed: PGX earned their bad reputation early on with questionable practices. CGC has been around 20yrs and are currently thriving off of their early reputation BUT, lately they have been as guilty as PGX and charge the collecting community more for their services AND for some strange reason people still line up for their “service”. A YEAR turnaround? No thanks. Nickel and dime you for graders notes… no thanks. CBCS they’re happy being a facsimile of CGC ultimately making them number 2 but with many moving to CBCS they too will have longer turnarounds. From what I hear it’s already happening. CBCS slabs in many places are fetching the same price as CGC slabs so that’s good for parity. EGS: 60 day turnaround! Customized labels Thinner yet stronger slabs AND, your comic has a second plastic skin around it within the slab that your label is attached to AND, this reduces the movement in the slab. Transparency!!! Graders notes with every slab. The only question I have about EGS is are their slabs seen as valuable? And what are those tabs for that are at the top of their slabs?
Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I agree with a lot of what you said, I haven't tried EGS lately but a lot of people keep mentioning it so I'll be submitting sometime this year and reviewing it all
this is starting to become a legitimate question. I'm going to try them later this year and compare how they stack up! The shipping from them to me in Canada during the height of covid was prohibitive
It is their "new label" haha they switched to it just a year or so ago I believe. I don't mind it at all, its definitely a different aesthetic though and not to everyones taste. Thanks for watching!

Ya cbcs quality is great. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I'll be doing a full review of the cases and labels for each a bit later. But I'm onboard with using CBCS for my pc, thanks for commenting

Thanks, always quick on the comments. CBCS mostly did a great job
@@ComicsRediscovered I wish I was that fast on VeVE

cgc has a prettier submission page for sure.
Thanks for watching and commenting
Cgc for books with decent value, cbcs for autographs & pgx for books I want to flip quickly & PC
I notice a lot of people use the various graders in this way, there is something to be said for picking and choosing wisely. Thanks for watching!
My man!!! 👌🏽👊🏽😎🔥
Thanks for the support!
I am CBCS fan, will not use PGX the comics move in the slab and the slabs feel cheap. I think that CBCS has the stronger of the two slabs of CGC and CBCS
Thanks for watching and commenting. You might be right about the new cbcs slabs
what happens if i submit to cgc or cbcs and then i move, will the order be shipped to old address?? or new address when i update it?? please help Thank You
good question I'm not too sure, I imagine they would correct the return address if you contacted customer support. Thanks for watching!
PGX hands down.
Faster, better customer service, more consistent grading.
Lots of people will disagree with you, but I have to say they didn't do anything to make me believe their doubters
For $5 PGX will put graders notes on back of label
oh! awesome tip I wasn't aware of that. I will have to add that on next time for anything I dont think will hit 98, thanks Larry!

Never use PGX.
Their grading system & slab suck big time.
Thanks for watching and Commenting! Their old slabs were not great, the new ones are miles better
What about EGS?
this is starting to become a legitimate question. I'm going to try them later this year and compare how they stack up! The shipping from them to me in Canada during the height of covid was prohibitive
CBCS needs a new label.
