It's not the boss itself that's hard, it's what you have to do to get to this boss that had me pulling my hair out. The defiled pthumeru chalice dungeon was a nightmare!!! I considered just giving up on getting platinum for this game after the 20th time I died to the last boss of that dungeon. After beating that dungeon, my sanity decreased, Drastically.......
Here's another strategy:go into the boss fight with LESS than 15 insight (that way she doesn't use her whole moveset) use short version of ludwig's holy blade 10+ upgraded,Here is the most important part that will save you alot of time, you can stagger her in the start instead of having to dodge the blood just go in attack 2 times back off for the explosion (you can't stagger that) and repeat until she starts using melee.From then on you have 2 options fast and risky or slow and secure , if you want to be fast just go in and beat the living fetus out of her until she teleports , if you want to be slow just do 2-3 attacks and back off,therefore she can't stun you.When she starts teleporting and making clones just sprint and attack them until only the real one is left,and then hit her until she teleports and clones again , do this until she pulls out the blood blade,then it becomes easier because her clones will remain with the daggers and you can easily tell them apart.From then on it's pretty straight forward,kill the clones then focus on her until she summons more, repeat until she is dead, (don't be too reckless when she has the blood blade , she can stun you and kill you pretty fast) i managed to kill her the third time with a level 125 character with this strategy (the first and second time she was on 1 hit left and i got greedy).
If i did not get greedy i would defeat orphan of kos nearly 50 times,after getting killed by him around 10 times i memorised his whole moveset but i still try to outdmg him in close range even though he deals nearly my whole hp with his attacks,im insane
I have to say, this is a great final boss for the chalice dungeons. She provides a good challenge, and I really appreciate it that they designed the boss so that you can't R1 spam her to death. I died quite a few times trying to beat her, and even when I did I used up all my blood vials. Some of her attacks nearly one shot me, haha
Sounds like you had a bit of an easier time. I didn't really have the range options as I was using the beast claws, so R1 spam was impossible for me. I did use the knight garb but it didn't feel like it did anything because some of her attack took 80% of my HP or just one shot me. But that's just bloodborne being bloodborne. Not sure about my level though.
This is how you can tell it's make by the maker of Demons Soul's. She's using Firestorm in blood form! In case you don't know, Firestorm was the go to, most OP spell in DS.
Its funny how this is the super secret boss but the two before her are way harder. Lets not even start on WoTOL or the fire bitch in the defiled chalice. But I love the fight.
The dog isn`t that hard. It just requires patience. The dog and Amygdala are quite easy if you know how to beat them. The boss that gave me the most trouble before the Queen was the Headless Bloodletting Beast

Lazy Bledger it’s been a while since I played BB but I doubt I fought it if it was in the dungeons. I never got into them much and just stayed to the main story.
The long journey you had to take to reach this boss is the hardest part of it, I'm a newbie on Bloodborne and still on my way to reach Platinum Trophy with her being the last achievement I have to take to finally complete the game, getting this chalice dungeon requirements is so tiring tbh.

Just 100% this game and I must say the chalice dungeon quests to get to her were amazing, I do wish she was a harder fight since it made it anticlimactic but still very well done.
It's funny how the bosses required to even reach her are much harder than she herself... But I wonder what happened to her in the main game. I'm pretty sure she's Mergos mother and looking at her bloody stomach they probably cut the baby out? I don't know...
A nightmare? Idk i just beat cleric beast and father gasceon first try in NG+, they were tougher but bearable. And oh so dungeon remain the same difficulty even if u go in NG+?good to know plus it make sense knowing Depths are the difficult settings. Thanks

Aldo Rojas probably late but the third phumerian chalice has a fourth layer you have to beat to get the next chalice. And then you have to beat that one, which is probably the most difficult one I'm the game..
I always get an instant 'skill' boost everytime i had the communion rune. I always end up using all my blood vials and get killed by the pthumerian descendant when his health is still 1/2. But i killed him while having 2 communions and 1 formless oedon, using only 7 vials throughout the battle. Same goes for the Headless/Infected Bloodletting beast but not the pthumerian queen
Matthew Evans I know it might be wierd to get a reply after two years but...recently I actually tried it myself, I would say this is the result of defied dungeon, as that is a half-health dungeon and you need to have quiet high a health to avoid being one-shotted by most enemies inside, plus you have to beat the defied dungeon to get to the dungeon with yhanam queen, so usually by the time you meet yhanam queen, you'd have one long ass healrh...at least this is my case...sorry about the rambling...

Getting to her is hard... Did you do all trophies? I tried to get the last weapon which is the scythe but i bought it and the hunter essence's trophy didnt show. I only need that trophy and this to plat this game.

i really dont understand the damage mechanics in the this game, just about every vid i looked at on this specific fight most people weapons are hitting for 400-500 regardless of weapon. Im hitting for 330 w/422 dmg range on axe, and hitting for 370 w/637 dmg range on the wheel wtf? how are you hitting for 500 with the axe 1handed? the difference when i 1h or 2h the axe is about a 30 dmg increase....
sorry for being 4 years late but enemies have defence and this guy is VERY high level which is why there is that 500 damage. his actual base damage would look like 800 - 1000 damage

Pan Your Camera To Where Her Tail Was Previously, And Her Head Will Be In That Location. Take A Quick Hit To Her Head, Then Roll Under Her, Back To Her Tail. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
There are runes for that. They are all called "Communion" and there are multiple of them. The one I have gives 4 extra health potions, but there are others that give 1-3. You can carry up to 3 of them and they stack.
+sean murray look it up on the bloodborne wiki. you basically just need to go throught all the pthumeru deungeons. the wiki tells you everything you need to now. just look up yharnam the pthumerian queen
standard, but you got to do like 8 or 9 chalices (look up the route on wiki) and almost beat the game, the Brain of Mensis. (just don't fight the final boss) to get all the requirements. Or beat the game and go to ng+ and do the dungeons.
This is one of the three trophies I need to get the plat but I can't beat amygdala in the defilement chalice lol. Ontop of halving your health your attack also seems to be lowered because my attack rating is usually 800+ and in that chalice dungeon it's only like 500

Hey guys, i have a problem. I am in defiled chalice and everything would be good if i have full hp but i have 50%hp reduction... I mean my maximum hp is reducted. Do you have and idea why?? I can't kill the first boss on that chalice because i die after one or two hits.
Antonio Figon Leyva I think you can actually, as you can see in the video he always does 2 hits then rolls away, not staying around long enough for the prison. I havent fought her myself yet though.
Miketo2000 Yes I completed it already. With this much damage, he should not have such high hit points at level 100. I am guessing this is level 200 above. But I may be wrong..
DamienYok i just platinumed the game and when i did this trophy last, i had the same health without duping. its just in NG+ the monsters drop insane amount of echoes.
DamienYok Someone's incredibly sore they suck at the game. You could be level 200 and suck terribly at this game but getting to where you're at in this video takes absolute skill. The Pthumerian Defiled Chalice is proof of anyone's capability and soft capping vitality at 1500 within level 120 is easily plausible. Level 2 of the Ailing Lower Loran Chalice main area of the floor yields about 70k souls in 2 minutes. Easily repeatable for maximum leveling capability. I got about 1 million souls in 20 minutes. Getting souls in NG in chalice dungeons is stupid easy if you can manage to do the game without dying every 2 minutes. Oh yea, use all THREE moon runes to stack echoes gained per enemy kills. Depth 4 and 5 enemies all yield 5-6 echoes each and bigger tougher ones are like 15k each.
Infinite Sin exactly this. I'm level 120, didn't use any glitch because I love the souls series and there challenge. Using that glitch would completely take away any enjoyment for me. The lower chalice using the runes can get you 250k easily in minutes. As I said, I'm level 120 but I could easily be around 170 now, but I just chose not to level any higher than 120 so I can join others in there games and help them. Any blood echoes I get now are used to just Max out my inventory for anything I need. Phenomenal game from From Software, as always.
yeah, they suck, got to do like 8 or 9, easier if you can get co-op, I find the dungeons painfully boring and tediously depressing. except the bosses are so hard especially defile chalices.

You can just use the reverse dungeons to get into the dungeon she is in. Still counts for the trophy after killing her.

The crown of illusions was probably used because it has the highest blood defense in the game and yharnam only deals blood damage.

2 handing actually makes the game act like there is a slightly higher strength stat, which is why you are only dealing like 30 more damage

There are runes for that. They are all called "Communion" and there are multiple of them. The one I have gives 4 extra health potions, but there are others that give 1-3. You can carry up to 3 of them and they stack.

standard, but you got to do like 8 or 9 chalices (look up the route on wiki) and almost beat the game, the Brain of Mensis. (just don't fight the final boss) to get all the requirements. Or beat the game and go to ng+ and do the dungeons.
This is one of the three trophies I need to get the plat but I can't beat amygdala in the defilement chalice lol. Ontop of halving your health your attack also seems to be lowered because my attack rating is usually 800+ and in that chalice dungeon it's only like 500
scratch that , just beat amygdala. turns out my weapon attack was lowered because my weapon was broken and i didn't notice lol

Hey guys, i have a problem. I am in defiled chalice and everything would be good if i have full hp but i have 50%hp reduction... I mean my maximum hp is reducted. Do you have and idea why?? I can't kill the first boss on that chalice because i die after one or two hits.
Because that's what the defiled and cursed ones do. It's part of the difficulty.

Antonio Figon Leyva I think you can actually, as you can see in the video he always does 2 hits then rolls away, not staying around long enough for the prison. I havent fought her myself yet though.
You get locked if you can hear a baby crying so back away at that point.

DamienYok Tbh, if you are that deep into the Chalice dungeons, achieving levels of 100-120 isn't that hard without using the dup glitch.
Miketo2000 Yes I completed it already. With this much damage, he should not have such high hit points at level 100. I am guessing this is level 200 above. But I may be wrong..
DamienYok i just platinumed the game and when i did this trophy last, i had the same health without duping. its just in NG+ the monsters drop insane amount of echoes.
DamienYok Someone's incredibly sore they suck at the game. You could be level 200 and suck terribly at this game but getting to where you're at in this video takes absolute skill. The Pthumerian Defiled Chalice is proof of anyone's capability and soft capping vitality at 1500 within level 120 is easily plausible.
Level 2 of the Ailing Lower Loran Chalice main area of the floor yields about 70k souls in 2 minutes. Easily repeatable for maximum leveling capability. I got about 1 million souls in 20 minutes. Getting souls in NG in chalice dungeons is stupid easy if you can manage to do the game without dying every 2 minutes.
Oh yea, use all THREE moon runes to stack echoes gained per enemy kills. Depth 4 and 5 enemies all yield 5-6 echoes each and bigger tougher ones are like 15k each.
Infinite Sin exactly this. I'm level 120, didn't use any glitch because I love the souls series and there challenge. Using that glitch would completely take away any enjoyment for me. The lower chalice using the runes can get you 250k easily in minutes. As I said, I'm level 120 but I could easily be around 170 now, but I just chose not to level any higher than 120 so I can join others in there games and help them. Any blood echoes I get now are used to just Max out my inventory for anything I need. Phenomenal game from From Software, as always.

yeah, they suck, got to do like 8 or 9, easier if you can get co-op, I find the dungeons painfully boring and tediously depressing. except the bosses are so hard especially defile chalices.

***** before u go up the lift to fight mergo she is just standing there. You dont really kill her as u still have to fight her in the chalice dungeon.
