    I was a Philodendron person that always wanted anthuriums. I never got into anthuriums because it felt intimidating. I watched so many of your videos for knowledge and finally have mostly antuhriums now. I hope you realize how much you are helping us with anthurium care

    I love your obsession with anthuriums. I am obsessed with them as well. I just started collecting them, and for a while, I did. not think I could take care of them but took the plunge and am so happy I did. For now, I am sticking to the "beginner category," but, omg, your Dark Phoenix, I literally squealed when I saw it. That is such a stunning plant. I hope one day, once I have more experience, I can be the proud caregiver to one. Please do PART 2 AND PART 3, or you should make your channels about anthuriums only :-) besides NSE Tropicals and Ecuagenera, any other reputable shop you recommend buying from? I am in Texas. Thank you. Love, love. love your presence, attitude, and your anthuriums.

    I SCREAMED LMFAO. I didn't expect this video, and I only saw this by chance because my notifications for your channel were off for some reason. I have a mixed relationship with anthurium but I'm slowly warming up to them. They're definitely beautiful, and I can name favorites (Portillae, Besseae aff, Cutucuense, Red Spider, and so much more), but I wouldn't want to collect them "in excess" because I feel like having too many of them would make them stand out in my collection less? I also CAN'T colllect many anthuriums because they're still really expensive for me in my country. The pallidiflorum may be cheap over there but I'm still gonna have to wait until around december for them to be at a price that I'm comfortable spending. And don't even get me started on the hybrids! My thirst for the hybrids is satiated by me living vicariously through your collection.
    Right now I've got 2 anthurium, a rad x lux and a magnificum. I got the magnificum in January as a rehab plant, for free! Since then, I've propagated it into two (splitting it in half vertically which was a very bold decision) but it was very successful, and just 5 days ago I cut both plants into 2 cuttings and 6 leafless chunks. Once they grow leaves imma just pretend that they're all different but similar looking anthuriums so that I feel more satisfied with my anthurium collection XD

    • @you_gullible_fucc
      @you_gullible_fucc Рік тому

      Also, are all myco brands water-soluble? I have a different brand of myco that doesn't specify if it's water-soluble but I keep forgetting to add it into the soil, so my only option now is to either repot again or to apply it with the watering.

    • @you_gullible_fucc
      @you_gullible_fucc Рік тому

      And one more thing. Before I chopped up my anthurium magnificum, I could never get its care down. They crisped at the edges like you showed, which is a sign of underwatering, but I also got edema showing at the back of the leaves which was a sign of overwatering. Thankfully I haven't gotten crispy tips on any of my new props now, but when I experience it again I'll follow your advice and assume it needs more water. Loved this video, I'll definitely rewatch it whenever I need to refresh my anthurium knowledge

    • @youdontevengrowhere
      @youdontevengrowhere  Рік тому +1

      Can I ask where you’re located? I would assume that Tropicals or Ecuagenera would be very similar in price no matter where they ship to! (Minus cargo costs of course)
      Also I think myco would all technically be water soluble but certain companies make them as pellets which I think take longer to dissolve. Perhaps you can DM the company that makes your myco to see what they say!

    • @you_gullible_fucc
      @you_gullible_fucc Рік тому

      @@youdontevengrowhere I can't say where I'm from because a past incident made me super privacy-paranoid, but the currency exchange rate is so low that a $38 pallidiflorum from ecuagenera would feel like paying $2500, not even including the cargo costs! Both ecuagenera and tropicals have had pop-ups here as well, but the pricing is still quite high (~1500+). Local prices on the other hand are still in the high hundreds-thousands, so I'd have to wait it out a few more months. Thank you for the myco tip, I haven't reached out because they've never indicated that it's water soluble on the instructions, so I was worried that mixing myco in water might....drown them?😂 I'll ask them to to make sure, but it's good to know that they'd theoretically be fine. Thank you Alice!!

Charmaine had mentioned to me first for alocasia care and now u here for anthuriums so imma get that. Thank u so much for ur care tips! Goes a long way💚💯.
    Maybe next vid can be how do u ID anthuriums or what characteristics do u look for to make an intelligent guess? I msgd u on IG about one im trying to ID just to help w being able to give it the right care. Really struggling w it.

      IDing plants can be so difficult! I would start by observing characteristics (venation, colour, petiole shape) of plants you’re certain of the ID on, and also post in Facebook groups for identification - although this can be hit or miss! Anthuriums are doubly hard because hybridization is so common

You talked about 2 that I wished I hadn’t purchased the splendidum and the debilis the humidity that those 2 need is crazy. I imported them both the Splendidum last month she lost the leaves she came with grew a new in my care but it’s small, the debilis I have for 2 weeks it has 1 crispy leaf. Hope I can keep them alive. Thanks for the info. I enjoy your videos!

    Anthurium Veitchii narrow form that one looks amazing the ridges on the leaves is what gets me loving it. Another one i love is the Luxurians the colour of the new leaf when it comes out and also the deep veining looks so 3D reminds me a bit like the Alocasia Dragon Scale. These two definitely would love to own. I bought the Anthurium Silver Bush few weeks ago that i saw at my plant store at a good price my first one wanted to give it a try. I notice the leaves turning upwards not flat do you know why they do that. Is in a nice airy mix, soil is moist I don’t let it dry out, and indirect light and my home is nice and warm. So don’t know why still.
