Interesting, like seeing your thoughts on the Fuego. I've had good luck with mine but it did need some lube! You'd take the BPS PQ2 over the Fuego 🤔 that interesting! Heck yeah we want to see the old reels, bring em out. We need to chat and catch up soon!
No doubt the Fuego is a solid reel, but the PQ is bulletproof, lol For sure brother...hit me up whenever you get some free time. Thanks for stopping by.

@@shanet9149 nice! I know around the classic last year they had them for $49.99 (that's when I grabbed mine). If you like it, keep your eyes peeled around that time in case you need another reel!
Nice review !!💪 I did pick up the CT this year as your recommendation but I screwed up and got the 8.1.1 ughh . I do use it on my T rig rod . Now that SLX I own 7 of those and the DC . I love the way those feel in hand and solid as well for that $100 price point . Definatley think you have to try out that SLX DC next year !!!
Also you should mention another extremely popular reel in that $100 market. Lew's Speed Spool LFS series was one of the first aluminum framed solid reel at the $99 price point. They are also a solid reel for the money. The new LFS reels have some really nice features like a 95mm handle, 15lbs drag, bearing supported pinion, and brass gears for a extremely tough and smooth setup. I have a few from back in the day that are still going strong after years of me beating on them.
I have a Fuego CT, I agree with your review. I feel it is better for throwing heavy baits like big spinner baits, big jigs, or chatterbaits. If I could do it all over I’d probably buy a Lews Mach 2, I have one of those and have 0 complaints.
I’ve haven’t fished with or casted a Daiwa reel before. The local sporting goods/outdoors store near me (10 miles down the road) has a lot of Daiwa and Okuma reels and very few Lew’s reels (guess the local population had a say so on their stock). I’m a diehard Lew’s fan but am always willing to give other manufacturers a try if their product “checks all my boxes” on what I’m wanting in a reel (echoing what you and I chatted about earlier today. 😉). Thanks for the video review. Will ride over to my local store and see what Daiwa reels they have in stock and check’em out. 😎😎
The best $100.00 baitcaster reel is The QUANTUM ACCURIST PT S3 7.1 ratio. It has a flipping switch too. The colors are really cool also. Just got mine for $83.00 from Wal-Mart online.com. I will put it on a Ugly Stick medium heavy baitcaster rod 6'6. This combo kick's butt. Wake up people and give Quantum a try. If The ACCURIST PT S3 is isn't your cup of tea. Go after the Smoke S3 PT. Its higher dollar. But its even better. Shawn
The Pro Qualifier over the Fuego thank you for doing this video my friend I’m looking at the Pro Qualifier now and I haven’t seen one negative review on that Reel.
Dude that Fuego CT is MONEY! It's incredibly smooth and casts a country mile. With 65 lb test braid and a Live Target Frog I have casted the entire spool. One drop of oil on spool bearings is all it needed to quiet down. That seems to be a trend with most new daiwa reels lately.
Great review! Diawa makes a sexy looking reel. In that price point the lews lfs has outlasted the other brands I have tried. However, I am guilty of not maintaining reels the way I should 😔
Thanks for the info. Looking into getting a new reel in that price point and I was debating the fuego or the SLX. No I will have to check out the pro qualifier. Have you tried any of the 13 fishing reels?

I agree Bro, Definitely worth the extra $30 on the Tatula.. I gotta tell you buddy, I have been pleasently surprised by the Abu Garcia Revo X.. $100 price point, sometimes less. Not sure how you feel about their reels but the X is really something you may want to check out. Take care my Brother 👊
I absolutely love the BPS PQ. I have one of the prior gen PQ but stacked up on them this spring with 3 at 49.99 and they always seem to be on sell. And for the price I think the PQ and PQ2.0 is so hard to beat. Mine are so smooth it crazy.
TJ81, will those reel storage bags work for spinning reels? If not, do you have any recommendation for spinning reel storage bags. I have about 18 in the fleet that I want to protect during winter storage in the fishing room. Any thoughts/feedback much appreciated.
I have a bunch of $100 reels from different brands. My personal favorite at that price point is the Abu Revo X. Try one out sometime, I'd like to hear your opinion.
The spinning revo x is by far my favorite spinning reel. I take it over my revo rocket... but I got Shimano and diawa casting reels. Imma have to try Abu Garcias casting reels here soon
The slx is in the same boat as the Fuego with the price point. Shimano made the slx xt reel this year for $130 and imo its a great upgrade for an extra 30. It has a way better braking system and I find it to be much smoother casting. All of my reels next season will be the slx and curado line besides maybe one
I bout that Fuego bc of price but I have an slx which is far superior imo...I can skip incredibly the slx mgl but I can't decide if I should get an slx dc or the regular curado with no dc... Any opinions?
I get them for $79 off ebay. Great workhorse reel , just a pain that I have to open them up and grease the main gear and carbon drag washer right off the bat. Other than that no issues what so ever. Tight lines , TJ.
I'm kinda new to the sport and recently purchased the Tatula SV. It's a great feeling reel but at times I feel like it's over braked. Are you familiar with this one and have any advice?
@@TackleJunky81 looking at it now and assuming that I didn't accidentally move it as you mentioned happens on the Fuego CT, the external is sitting on 8 and the spool had a fairly fast fall rate. With a ⅜oz buzz bait I was getting maybe 60-80 feet of distance whereas my Alderbaran and el cheapo Fishband GH100 both outcast it by a good bit with lighter weight lures. All have 20# braid.
I'll take a Fuego anyday over a Tatula. Not a fan of the T-wing. Line builds up on one side of the spool if u run the line over your finger for ultimate bite detection on baits that require feel. For speed type baits it's good. I want to be able to use a reel for multiple applications. I wish they would make a Fuego with higher line capacity because I usually use 20 lb test and that fills a spool quick. You can find new Fuegos in the $60 range. I haven't seen SLX anywhere near that price. I think Fuegos the best bang for the $. I also own Pro Qualifiers.
The original Tats had some issues, but they fixed them...I haven't had any issues with the line building up on one side. Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching buddy.
@@TackleJunky81 mine are 2 years old (Type R) and they do it if u put your index finger under the line to feel for lite bites. Unless they've changed since then. It lifts the line up into the top of the T and renders the levelwind useless.
