Thank you Pat for not only committing to your work but to offer valuable details that you had to establish the hard way. I do believe this part of your innate character is why you are and will always experience success in whatever you pursue.
Hi Pat, I love how you always say how you are not special. I know where you are coming from trying to be an everyday person but you are special in the way you share things and approach life. Love all that you do and just wanted to say you are a rare person from how transparent you are.
Pat it's great to hear from you how it all began. And actually I think that your first episode was awesome enough to be shared without hesitation! Why did you have doubts about your voice? :)
Come on Pat, it's not THAT bad. You are making me feel SUPER bad about my first podcast, which I assure you is MANY factors worse than your first, and I am still proudly pushing forward. I appreciate your tutorials and lessons, and am here looking for a review of tagging and uploading, after a frustrating day of not getting Audacity to do wtf I want, for reasons I still do not understand. So, subpar it is. It will get better. I just have to start, after more than two years of not being ready, and still not being ready, Angel's Authentic Action Podcast is going live for the new year.
Great Video Pat. I'm just starting with my Podcast and right now I'm recording my first episodes ... and it's so hard ... the Moment when you sit in front of the mic, everything what was on my mind is gone. And even the notes I made, don't help. I know, that with time and experience, the confidence will come. But as you know, the way is hard. So, thank you for that inside to your thoughts on how you started. That helps to get more confidence.
This is so great! I love that you shared your 1st podcast, to give others the courage to move forward. You are so polished now, it give people a realistic sense of the learning curve. Great work!
Great video Pat, i started my podcast in Arabic last February about journalism it was a real challenge but i will keep going.. thank you for the inspiration and positive energy
As always great info Pat - I've only been podcasting for 3-4 months and I'm already scared to listen to session 1 lol. But one thing that I've noticed has helped a ton is planning. Unless your podcast is about being off the cuff and discussion based with other hosts, plan your sessions/episodes!
I have been doing my Podcast since November last year, and it is for sure a challenge but getting positive thanks, and feedback makes it’s worth while for sure!
Thanks for sharing this Pat! It's helpful to get a glimpse of what it was like when you started. I had a quick question that I was hoping you could answer. Quite a few podcasts are starting to release episodes in seasons as opposed to just releasing them every week. Is there any reason that you decided to release a podcast every week as opposed to having different seasons of the SPI Podcast? It must be very time consuming to hold yourself to a weekly schedule.
In my opinion voice quality is overrated. The best example would be Paul Graham. He is a master in "ehms" and still his talks are the best I know in the Startup World. Still, you're message is awesome. I am amazed that you can still don't sound like a professional. (It sounds meh, but don't know how to communicate is otherwise)
Thanks Pat for taking the time to openly and honestly assess your first podcast.
"Should I talk a little deeper?" LOL Love it! Really enjoyed this. Fear is a you-know-what! Thanks for opening up.

Great to see you kept that first podcast. It's good to sometimes see how everyone starts the same.

good for you pat. loved the start of this ;)
The only hard part for me is the topic itself and making enough to listen to.
Awesome!
Great shirt!

I'm terrified of what people will think of my voice lol probably the main reason I haven't started yet.
