Think Media I think it’s the perfect vehicle for multi stream income based on your earlier advice on multiple channels to cover multiple interests that are unrelated. My political views and language would not work for my truck and tools channel so why deal with coppa when I’m telling people about a safety device that measures brake stroke? However I will use words that you hear in Joe Rogan shows because that’s my political audience. It would not sound right if you said a curse word. Not even the everyday ones. People would be like, hol up, what? Gary Vee, nobody flinches. Doesn’t loose Sponsors. I think there should be a video about cursing 🤬. With Gary and Joe it’s seems normal, not angry 😤 or insulting. Like rap music.
I volunteer for the BPS DSEP NAH (I know a long name but we are required to call ourselves that under a contractual agreement). The podcast is called Talking Psych where we literally talk sports and exercise psychology with prof's & Dr's, Athletes and coaches and we have had major success with it already even when our superiors were quite dismissing of it. We were mentioned in Dispatches By BBC radio 4 and have presented at a number of conferences in the UK. open.spotify.com/show/6gOSb1GaGIc2kVdNZbbLZy I have also tried experimenting with what I call a 'Hybridcast' Formula on my own personal channel inspired by the BBC sounds style Podcasts (which is like a un-raw style video podcast) . ua-cam.com/video/zYjr9Yc_9tY/v-deo.html I hope this does not come across as me shamelessly promoting and only instead of me trying to answer the comment question.
I'm sorry to be so blunt but anyone who says that everybody blowing up on UA-cam or social media ONLY because they previously had a following is flat out lazy. I was NEVER popular ANYWHERE prior to starting my channel. I don't have the largest audience in the world but 64,000 is nothing to sneeze at. If what any of these people said was true about "pre-popularity", I wouldn't have this audience. Period. I've been putting in CONSTANT WORK since 2013 on this channel. I've been uploading since 2006 if you want to include my 1st channel. That is 7-14 years of CONSTANT WORK and NEVER GIVING UP. It was NOT me being famous or having a TV show before getting on here. In fact.... I have 5 times MORE subscribers than some of the reality TV stars I watch regularly on TV shows that get MILLIONS of views. Why? Because I work harder than them. Having an audience/show/fame/whatever before you start your channel is not the only way to blow up on this platform. That is an excuse. That is laziness. I'm sorry to be so harsh but someone needs to tell you straight. The reasons why you haven't gotten where you want to go is because you (aside from making excuses) are 1: not being consistent 2: need to improve your content 3: need to engage with your audience 4: need to find YOUR niche 5: need to find a unique way to communicate that niche. 6: need to follow all of the best practices of youtube reach (Title, Thumbnail, SEO, Content) [check your analytics and see whats working and whats not] You have no excuse. You're only "competing against guys like Rogan" if YOU put yourself in that position. Start a podcast about what YOU are passionate about that has LITTLE TO NO competition. Same for a channel. I've seen 1 guy on UA-cam blow up for doing literally elevator reviews....who on earth is doing elevator reviews? Well apparently he is. And apparently there is a huge audience for it. Just do the work. Stay consistent. Research (don't do it blind). And Stop making excuses. You will never get anywhere that way.
Thx for this detailed comment & congratulations on your success!! 🙌 I'm finally starting out on my own & doing it afraid might add 🙈 Nervous because I'm currently unable to make investments into really good quality audio recording equipment...or any other equipment for that matter 😂 I do have a very specific niche which is why I'm confident overall & want to get it right. I believe that people will want listen & I know I have the capabilities to succeed. Having the content & ability is one thing, but having the mechanics to put it out there is something different all together & that's what I lack at the moment. Any suggestions or advice would be very much appreciated. Wishing you continued success!!✌️💕🙏
I really like this, I’m wanting to start a podcast with a couple friends soon and I’ll keep this in mind! The only thing I’m not sure if I can follow is finding a niche. Our interests are politics, gaming, and philosophy mostly. They seem like hugely saturated markets which is my biggest worry. And we don’t have any particular expertise. I think we are fairly sociable and have good conversation and love talking to new people though. We also aren’t looking to make it huge. If we can get to the point of just making a small living off of it, we’d be ecstatic.
The Joe Rogan formula, have guests from all walks of life, talk like a real person, let the conversation develop, have a group of your friends on to talk about an event without showing the event, smoke lots of weed with your guest . The fight companion shows are my favorite. I rarely watch the clips but when I do I go to the whole conversation and listen for 2-3 hours.

I've come here from LinkedIn, @Sean Cannell, based on your rant about how some people say only 'successful people' can do well at this Rogan formula. Here are my 2 cents: I feel, by and large people mean well. Someone said: everything people say or do to you, is either: 1. An act of love 2. Or a desperate cry for help People who are saying those things to you have been told repeatedly that such and such can never be done, and they’re now repeating that message to themselves and everyone around them. They can’t be kind or encouraging because they didn’t see that happen for themselves, and hence they’re not kind to themselves. The ironic thing is they’re the ones who would benefit from your message the most. Hence all the more reason to keep going ahead on your mission. Go Sean, go Benji, you guys have helped me with me self confidence, so, so much !!
1:48 I listen to the audio of UA-cam videos, too sometimes. I sometimes will set the UA-cam playback to the lowest settings on my phone if I'm driving because I just need to listen to the audio instead of watching the video, and it takes up less data as well. I also sometimes listen to UA-cam videos when I'm cleaning and etc.
We've actually started doing this recently. We used to upload 30-40 minute UA-cam videos that mirrored the audio podcast. These last few weeks we put out some "highlight" videos instead. They got more traction, so it does work. However, our loyal watchers miss the full experience.
So publish the “full version” and then chop it up and make micro content. Most people have 10 minutes. More often then not they aren’t willing to give up 30-60 minutes.
I started a podcast a year ago and totally dropped off the earth with it because it was a lot for one person to do with a UA-cam channel too. but if I can upload my podcast on UA-cam too (with video) ... genius!! Not sure why I didn’t think of it sooner! 💙 Thanks Think Media team!

You are an inspiration to people like me who should of started this 10 years ago. Its never too late, i just started my channel and i am almost at 200 subscribers! Keep up the great content and thanks for the advice, appreciate the hard work.
Joe Rogan is the level to aspire to 100%! That being said, we did our podcast primarily focused on audio but recorded in video for first 70 episodes'ish. Now we are hitting video on UA-cam for every episode and already in the last 20 episodes have noticed a 10% spike in our downloads simply from being on UA-cam. We are a top 100 show here in Canada, but much more work ahead! Thanks Sean! And anyone who is thinking of starting a podcast, ded do video and auduo!
Adding a visual brings so much value! Putting a face to the guest speaker will not only attract a wider audience, but it also helps make your podcast seem more engaging! I'll always post snippets on my Instagram/Instagram Stories and LinkedIn to help boost engagement and highlight different parts of the interview I really want my audience to absorb! Great video! :)
Joe Rogan started a podcast AFTER he was on a hit reality TV show. Fear Factor was one of the first hit reality TV series....BEFORE social media. Meaning this. He was already a very well known public figure before jumping into the podcast world. In a world where algorithms determine whose content gets seen, competing against guys like Rogan is like running the 100 m dash with the other competitor getting a 80 m start. Even if you are fast, the person with the lead wins.
He was also well known because of his presence in the MMA world. This video implies that a person can be an online success by following a simple formula. It does not take into account the talent of the person. Very few people can be successful at podcasting.
Great point, even though I don’t like him...I do have to give him credit. He was well known but podcasts and UA-cam videos were really young and no one was really there yet. He also went against the grain in that he grew organically (no paid ads), did extremely long form podcasts, and started by himself (didn’t join a network or partner) 🤙
Saw your instagram. You aren't crazy. I have been in real estate long enough to know that getting exposure takes a long time. I think most people are too impatient just want to be overnight success with out putting in the work. Keep up the good content!
I believe video podcasts are gonna be HUGE in 2020! I’m so sure that I quit my job to pursue it. My wife and I have been planning this for so long...time to take action! Thanks for great content Sean. Well appreciated as always!

Also doing a segment each week called “Inspire with Fire.” Melting down personal development ideas and teaching Christians how to apply it to their walk. We are OVERLY excited to start this journey! I have been consuming all of your content for the last year and it has helped IMMENSELY! Can’t thank you enough.
@@ThinkMediaTV Here is my VERY first attempt at an upload to UA-cam. I still need to make my thumbnail and finish setting up my channel, but maybe some tips on the video?? ua-cam.com/video/dzo_OrcqvoU/v-deo.html Thanks!
Hey Sean Don't be concern about the FEW negative comments that people leave. You have more of us that are BENEFITING from your content then those nobodies that just want to have something negative to say. (2 Kings 6:15-17)
Love the challenge here to start wherever you are at in the journey. The next step for us is to make the jump to video podcasts. We already have about 55 episodes of audio under our belt with about 1000 subscribers. Thanks for the challenge and perspective!

You’ve sold me on the concept! Since I’m still early on the journey, is diversification the right strategy or focusing on the basics? Based on my gut, and your videos, seems like basics is where to start 😉
False advertising here. He calls the "The Joe Rogan Podcast Formula: How to Start a Video Podcast the Smart Way!" BUT-there's very little about Joe Rogan's podcast or how to emulate the formula. Using Joe Rogan's name is a "trigger technique", which Sean himself uses to get us who want to learn about setting up a video podcast to watch. I watched. What a disappointment.
This is quite an interesting approach. I just started my channel this month and I'm trying different things to see which format I like. I've always preferred podcasts because it means I don't have to stop wand watch a full video. I love the content but love the audio option. I think I may try this approach next. It makes so much sense. Thanks for always sharing these tips with us💫
I will show this video to my son because I really don't know what it is and how to make video podcast..i' ve already downloading this video because I really can't understand about this...
This is something I've been considering launching either late this year or early 2021. Terrance's Tech Talk VODCAST coming soon to the Channel!! Great keynote sess Sean. 👍🏼
Thank you for this content! I have been thinking of doing this. Just a note my brother came up with the cookie while working for DTree. Be very careful how or who ideas go to ❤
Do you recommend 1 channel with the full podcast and 1 channel with the clips? Or 1 channel with both? I dont understand how having the clips would hurt the full podcast channel
What's up man!? Hope you're well! I was wondering the same thing. We may have to test it out and see :) Everyone is following Rogans strategy with the full podcast on one channel and the clips on the other. Then begs the question, do you follow the leader, or create a new path? Decisions decisions haha
Rogan formula: a) started way before pods were a thing b) was a celebrity already c) worked his ass off stayed consistent put out thousand episodes d) doesn’t talk like a corporate robot actually has a personality.
As I was planning out my 2020 goals, the vision of a video podcast was a big part of it. At the core of this was both the trend toward video podcasts on interesting topics *and* the ability to segment the show up and use clips for other videos. I was really glad to have that validated in your video. It confirms I'm on the right path forward. 6 shows in, I am getting the content I need to have editing days and get some segments out as independent videos. Thanks for this validation and guidance. 🎩🔮

Video podcasts are great, I usually have one on in the background while I'm gaming or working on stuff. Even though 90% of the time I'm only listening to the audio if its on youtube I don't have to worry about tracking it down across multiple platforms I can just subscribe to it like any other channel.
there are a couple things i dont understand. Is the hosting site the same as the broadcast platform like Spoon? and would that mean that spoon and Stitcher or Itunes do the same things as far as podcasts goes?
There are a TON of podcast hosting websites... Check out Podbean or BuzzSprout. Once they are hosted somewhere, you can send them to itunes, spotify, sticher, etc. Does this help? :)
The Joe Budden Podcast has been recording the podcasts and posting. In fact, that's how they got a lucrative contract with Spotify. Joe now has multiple channels, and multiple shows. He's probably a better example of this, especially because he's African American male who made it.
I really like your channel. I have a question tho-- Do you know if Joe, H3H3 or any of the other video podasts are uploading to their UA-cam and podcast channels on the same days? I guess my thinking is that you might be able to get more views and listens if you uploaded to your podcast one day and then upload to UA-cam same content another day. And the clips channels-- Would you post that before as a teaser to get people to watch the long version? I'm just curious if there is a strategy to all this. Thanks
This is a great question. The thing is, Everyone's show is different. You have to test everything and see how it works. I would post the long version and the clips all on the same day and have the call to action to be listen to the FULL version here :) Does this help? :)
🤙Great video! I think it’s so interesting that he has succeeded like he has on the podcast. Think for a second, he does it completely opposite to what everyone says it should be: 1) He built it himself without joining a network, or a huge team/collards. 2) Way over the recommended length of a max 22 minutes (it lasts over 90-120 minutes usually. 3) Built multiple YT channels off of this single channel (everyone says to stick with one and grow it) 4) He grew organically I just started my YT channel recently and can not wait to take Sean’s advice and grow! ❤️ you all
You do know that Joe Rogan was an absolute huge name before his show, right? To say he "built it himself without joining a network" seems to ignore all of his previous history.
kazrisk great point, but being a big name, doesn’t guarantee you success. How many singers, movie stars, etc have fell off the charts due to not being relevant anymore? He obviously got a way better start than 99.9% of ppl, but he made great content from the beginning and continued it. His content is what ppl what to hear...he then began to bring in interesting guests to improve his content even more. 🤙
Great videos and information! Thank you. Could you recommend software to run on a Mac to capture interviews with 2-4 people in different locations? I would like to edit and upload to UA-cam and have the option to livestream in the near future as well. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro for editing. Thanks for your help.
Great info. Creating clips is great, but realistically it adds more work to podcasters doing it themselves. Will try it out and see how subscribers respond.
GaryVee and Jay Shetty probably have producers or PAs monitoring their audio so they can focus on the show. If you are solo... it's a safe bet to use them. If you don't... you run the risk of numerous audio mistakes. And there will come a time where you forget to press record lol
I think it is a great idea. As usual, watching you has given me my own idea of how to try something new. I think I am going to do it as separate channel and see which one grows faster.
I would look into the Canon G7X mark 2, or the Canon C100 mark 2. Both of these have unlimited recording times. Im pretty sure the m50 and G7 shut off after 30 min. Don't quote me on that tho. Does this help? :)
Step 1) create one of the most popular sports in the world. Step 2) use your millions of dollars and already established influence to get people to have conversations with you while people fight eachother for ad placement. Works everytime =)
"only originally popular people achieve success on this way?" is a false conclusion. LivBay Lash were not originally famous. Jay Bear was not originally famous. And there are 10s of thousands that were not 'originally famous' that are succeeding.
Just start and be consistent. Do a 30 day challenge where you post for 30 days. This will force you to learn just about everything with youtube. Check the analytics and make the necessary changes. Does this help? :)
As always thank you for the content! I've been saving up audio bits to start a podcast because that was my understanding of how podcasts work. But as you probably know that makes content creation all the much harder. So this is an awesome formula!!
Sean, I wanna ask you one interesting question. You have almost 1mln subscribers, you position yourself as professional youtube creator. But, many of your videos reach few dozen thousands views. Why it happens? Why you can't achieve outstanding results if you have so many experience and knowledge it this field? Or, may be, make many videos with low audience is it your strategy?
This is awesome. I am launching a local community podcast per Gary Vees suggestion. I have a UA-cam channel for mortgage and home buying topics which is the business. Goal is to have high level pillar content. Its daunting for sure but I know its the right move. Gearing up that works best for me. Look for the Treasure Coast Podcast. Coming in Feb 2020.

Sure but , if you could make a 10th of what Joe Makes wouldn't you be ok with that ?
I would
Tarz Thomas 10000th of what he makes for me 😆
Saw your instagram. You aren't crazy. I have been in real estate long enough to know that getting exposure takes a long time. I think most people are too impatient just want to be overnight success with out putting in the work.
Keep up the good content!
I watch a lot of these pod casts so my mentality is what would I want to watch. Im going to try this year on making something, good luck y'all
LOVE THIS!!! i'm here from IG from the rant - Go Sean!
I recently launched my podcast with a video component. Thanks for the push and the tips.
I’ve done a couple of these already. Great way to get watch time on UA-cam and build a podcast on other platforms.
*_Thank you✨💫💯_*
Nice!
Video Podcast is simply genius! A faster way to dominate different mediums. Think Media Rocks!
I believe video podcasts are gonna be HUGE in 2020! I’m so sure that I quit my job to pursue it. My wife and I have been planning this for so long...time to take action! Thanks for great content Sean. Well appreciated as always!
*_Thank you✨💫💯_*
Awesome. What is your podcast called? What's it about? (Niche)
Think Media , “The Couple on Fire Podcast” How to take your Faith, Family, and Future to the next level.
I still need to make my thumbnail and finish setting up my channel, but maybe some tips on the video?? ua-cam.com/video/dzo_OrcqvoU/v-deo.html Thanks!
wt hpnd?
Keep coming out with gold!
*_Thank you✨💫💯_*
Glad you found the video helpful!
*_Thank you✨💫💯_*
Thank you excellent as always 👌🏾🙌🏾🎧
Think Media is awesome I followed all his tips in step out my comfort zine in now I’m on my way to making millions ‼️❤️
*_Thank you✨💫💯_*
I have no time to watch this , I downloaded to see later !!
*_Thank you✨💫💯_*
This video is GOLD! Plus, I love Joe's podcast!
I started a podcast Jan 2020 and did one season. In the next season I plan to add video since I just started my YT channel
Thanks for the great content! I actually used some of this info last year to start my channel!
Love this 💜
The major video podcast people started elsewhere first, developing an audience, JR from mma and fear factor, h3h3 from his youtube career
Mind-Blowing For Sure..WOW! Thanks Sean
Hey Sean
Don't be concern about the FEW negative comments that people leave. You have more of us that are BENEFITING from your content then those nobodies that just want to have something negative to say.
(2 Kings 6:15-17)
I am a big fan of you.
looking forward to launching my travel video podcast! thanks!
Thanks for the great tips I can't wait to go live we have so many plans for podcasts for my channel. Thanks again.😁
I absolutely love this channel. Amazing ideas
Great content on learning how to do podcasting in 2020.
Love the challenge here to start wherever you are at in the journey. The next step for us is to make the jump to video podcasts. We already have about 55 episodes of audio under our belt with about 1000 subscribers. Thanks for the challenge and perspective!
Get rich and help folks at same time.
Start a local news podcast franchise, helping local folks startup local news and stories.
Every community wants/needs local news. State level as well. Imagine a new network (TMN brodcasting) reporting from homes across the nation.
Everyone wins
You supply business in a box, you get paid to start up and monthly fees.
Underemployed gets coached throught the startup (hardest part)
Some will fail, but there could be thousands of small local broadcasters across the nation.
thanks for this. great content as always. I'm looking forward to adding video to my podcast.
I appreciate how straight to the point you were
You’ve sold me on the concept!
You completely missed the aim and point of this information and clearly want someone to start up a podcast with a huge following for you.
Underrated comment
Dude!!! You just being a Karen 😩
This is quite an interesting approach. I just started my channel this month and I'm trying different things to see which format I like. I've always preferred podcasts because it means I don't have to stop wand watch a full video. I love the content but love the audio option. I think I may try this approach next. It makes so much sense. Thanks for always sharing these tips with us💫
hi what's your background of thumbnail please give me link
I know this is an older video. But I believe VLADTV started the movement of making the videos smaller and putting them on different platforms
I will show this video to my son because I really don't know what it is and how to make video podcast..i' ve already downloading this video because I really can't understand about this...
*_Thank you✨💫💯_*
how do I improve my speaking skill? I just love your voice, I never get bored of it
啸Shout Shout
Take a look at his first video there’s hope for everybody
Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/lUTQRkUXrCk/v-deo.html
This is something I've been considering launching either late this year or early 2021.
Terrance's Tech Talk VODCAST coming soon to the Channel!!
Great keynote sess Sean. 👍🏼
What app did you use to make this video
I never new this, thanks a lot, I'm grateful.
Love your insights 💪, thank you for all you do
Doing my best here. Thank you for this. I will make sure my Podcast does well.
Rogan formula: a) started way before pods were a thing b) was a celebrity already c) worked his ass off stayed consistent put out thousand episodes d) doesn’t talk like a corporate robot actually has a personality.
Thx for tips. Interesting!

He was a genius when it came to podcasting!
Joe Rogan changed how people do podcasts
Great topic!
there are a couple things i dont understand.
Great ideas in here, I like the shorter clip channel tip
We make something similar, not a video podcast, but we use vlogs as a podcast too. Only interviews so far, but it is a good option.
Nice breakdown, thanks. :)
The Joe Budden Podcast has been recording the podcasts and posting. In fact, that's how they got a lucrative contract with Spotify. Joe now has multiple channels, and multiple shows. He's probably a better example of this, especially because he's African American male who made it.
Great tips! Thank you!
LOVE YOU VIDEO OMG ‼️‼️‼️
This is quite a strategy... but I don’t know if it will work for my art studio
If I was looking for an assistant to be able to help me do this, can you recommend the title I would be looking for and where I could find them??
Craigslist, Indeed, Upwork - Podcast Producer, Producer, Assistant
Think for a second, he does it completely opposite to what everyone says it should be:
1) He built it himself without joining a network, or a huge team/collards.
2) Way over the recommended length of a max 22 minutes (it lasts over 90-120 minutes usually.
3) Built multiple YT channels off of this single channel (everyone says to stick with one and grow it)
4) He grew organically
I just started my YT channel recently and can not wait to take Sean’s advice and grow!
❤️ you all
You do know that Joe Rogan was an absolute huge name before his show, right? To say he "built it himself without joining a network" seems to ignore all of his previous history.
kazrisk great point, but being a big name, doesn’t guarantee you success. How many singers, movie stars, etc have fell off the charts due to not being relevant anymore? He obviously got a way better start than 99.9% of ppl, but he made great content from the beginning and continued it. His content is what ppl what to hear...he then began to bring in interesting guests to improve his content even more. 🤙
I'm here after watching Tina Lata (blue-maiden) vlog. ☺️
Joe Rogan is a badass
Just started a podcast on anchor called Just Get Started. I think I may ad video
Zencastr, Squadcast, Ecamm, StreamYard - Does this help? :)
Great info. Creating clips is great, but realistically it adds more work to podcasters doing it themselves. Will try it out and see how subscribers respond.
Why/how does someone like Gary Vee or Jay Shetty NOT use headphones in their setup...but Joe Rogan (and many others) DO? Personal preference?
GaryVee and Jay Shetty probably have producers or PAs monitoring their audio so they can focus on the show. If you are solo... it's a safe bet to use them. If you don't... you run the risk of numerous audio mistakes. And there will come a time where you forget to press record lol
I think it is a great idea. As usual, watching you has given me my own idea of how to try something new. I think I am going to do it as separate channel and see which one grows faster.
Canon M50 or Lumix G7 for video podcasting? The Lumix is $100 less and comes with a extra up to 200mm lens.
I would look into the Canon G7X mark 2, or the Canon C100 mark 2. Both of these have unlimited recording times. Im pretty sure the m50 and G7 shut off after 30 min. Don't quote me on that tho. Does this help? :)
This is what Gary Vee has been saying for a year at least.
Step 1) create one of the most popular sports in the world.
Step 2) use your millions of dollars and already established influence to get people to have conversations with you while people fight eachother for ad placement.
Works everytime =)
If this formula so simply, why only originally popular people achieve success on this way?
"only originally popular people achieve success on this way?" is a false conclusion.
LivBay Lash were not originally famous.
Jay Bear was not originally famous.
And there are 10s of thousands that were not 'originally famous' that are succeeding.
Rogan is the best
I am more connected to your UA-cam than I do on UA-cam
Any tips for UA-camrs who want to build Inspirational / Faith-based Content Videos?
Just start and be consistent. Do a 30 day challenge where you post for 30 days. This will force you to learn just about everything with youtube. Check the analytics and make the necessary changes. Does this help? :)

Matt Damon 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You remember PT right
As always thank you for the content! I've been saving up audio bits to start a podcast because that was my understanding of how podcasts work. But as you probably know that makes content creation all the much harder. So this is an awesome formula!!
I need to start adding video but I'm insecure lol
Sean, I wanna ask you one interesting question. You have almost 1mln subscribers, you position yourself as professional youtube creator. But, many of your videos reach few dozen thousands views. Why it happens? Why you can't achieve outstanding results if you have so many experience and knowledge it this field? Or, may be, make many videos with low audience is it your strategy?
Sweet 😍
*_Thank you✨💫💯_*
@@Basicenglishparagraph you're welcome
This is awesome. I am launching a local community podcast per Gary Vees suggestion. I have a UA-cam channel for mortgage and home buying topics which is the business. Goal is to have high level pillar content. Its daunting for sure but I know its the right move. Gearing up that works best for me. Look for the Treasure Coast Podcast. Coming in Feb 2020.
