Hey Flippy, you can completely fix the audio desync by changing "max_queued_frames" on Xenia's config file to 3. Hope this helps other people too, I can confirm this fixes the audio desync for me on two different rigs, one with an AMD GPU and another with a Nvidia RTX GPU. Also, Saints Row 2 is playable from start to finish with zero major or minor bugs on Xenia as well, just make sure to set query_occlusion_fake_sample_count to -1, otherwise lights appear through walls.
Can help with the issue where some users (myself included) crash when trying to start a new game or load a game? And yes, I have protect_zero=false Edit: Fixed my issue! It was related to trying to get DLC to force-load by putting it in \Xenia\content\545107D1\00000002 Deleting 00000002 fixed all crashing when loading :)

i dont have any motivation to do this but i find it very interesting and cool that you and other people have figured out how to do all these things. as soon as i saw you use the bridge to launch cars and have the saints fight each other, i had to load up youtube on my phone just to give you some praise
Thing I'm most interested in here is it reveals "skirmishes" are a part of the game. Every so often I'd see a car full of a rival gang pass through Saints territory and I didn't know if it was programmed that way or if it was a glitch or what the hell.
I hope some of the guys who have made mods can make some basic tutorials on certain sections so we can then launch off of that to create / share our own stuff. Tho I'm finding that for some reason I can't mod my game I get errors when I try to unpack and errors packing even though I followed flippy's tutorial and tried both ways via word doc and the tool. not really sure how a different tutorial will help, but even past that like how to add images into the game just a little bit extra details on the things you can do as I would love to get into modding this game even if it's just to add some clothing in but I would love to do much more if I can actually find a way to get my game to be moddable (on Win 11) I get the patches applied but I can't type I even tried a couple of the xenia versions. In a perfect world I would love to create a radio station/add music to the game (I know I could just replace but I don't really want to take away from the game), have custom clothing (kill anyone who says 'Im out of style'), edit how difficult the game is, tweak the weapons like adding fine aim however that works on SR1, etc, etc but I'm stuck at the first hurdle basically lol
Also, I would love to change how far the distance of 'active cars' and stuff is (if you know what I mean) as I love a good drive-by on another car but hate when they take a sharp turn or they go off of the camera and into the void never to be harmed again
I got my SR1 copy in a Video Store that would eventually close within a year or so for 5 bucks, with the booklet manual still intact and the previous owner forgot his old James Bond Blood Stone copy. Best purchase I've ever made lol Playing back on PC was such a great moment :)
I've been messing around with Xenia and Saints Row for a bit, seems to work ok-ish, performance is pretty stable. Audio delay happens to me too, there's a way to kinda fix it, but it changes an emulator setting so could bug the audio in other games. Set max_queued_frames to 3, default is 64 I think. If it's easier, make another folder with the emulator for just that game, I have like 4-5 versions due to minor settings breaking things in some games but others needing those settings. I got a Steam Deck recently and it's apparently stable enough on there to complete it, so I guess I'm getting back into Saints Row.
Its so nice to see you making videos again. As a teenager, I played 3 and 4 for about 5 years and racked in an estimated 3-5k on it. Borderlands 1 and 2 have become my new saints row. But seeing this is really refreshing and inspiring for me to get back into it. Ty.
I found that if you change the setting "vsync_interval = 16" to "vsync_interval = 8", it will help a lot with the stutter with the "default_60_FPS.xex" file. If you have stutter issues in 60fps, try changing that setting.
@GODZHAND Is there any way to make the player area bigger. for example, driving down a street you shoot at a car, chase it down just for it to make a sharp turn, and disappear into the void never to be seen again. It's been one of my biggest flaws when playing the game on Console. Any help would be greatly appreciated I know you and everyone who can mod are super busy with life and modding etc. Also thanks to you and everyone who contributed to keeping Saints Row alive and for it to be playable to a console standard if not higher on PC now is just insane.
Thank you Flippy for sharing this, as well as the ppl in the SR community who got this put together and working. I was finally able to play saints row 1, and I am now working on saints row 2 and I have been absolutely loving those games. Genuinely such a passionate community
This was a fantastic video, thank you so much for explaining everything in such a concise manner and especially for providing the SR1 iso. But the video's topic gave me a question: what do you think of SaintsRowMods' users? Personally I find them to be rather restrictive and passive. Not all of them, of course, but I no longer use the website for discussion because it just feels like different points of view are seen as threats or something. Modding the console versions of the games has been strictly banned since (I think) the website was created. Anyone who asks about it either gets banned or is just told "we don't do that here, so leave AND don't do it". And since the website seems to have ties to Volition (or at least, it used to), criticism directed at them, while somewhat frequent, is silenced and dismissed by mods, who only change their minds in extreme situations (like the initial SRIV: Re-Elected PC launch), only to then keep quiet about Volition's other issues. One user once asked something like "why do I have to buy Saints Row 2 in order to mod it to make it actually functional, I don't want to support a company who doesn't mind leaving broken ports abandoned for years, it just feels wrong". He/she was almost immediately banned without receiving an answer, and honestly, he/she was right. Why should we support a company who leaves a game broken and forces you to use community fixes in order to actually play the godforsaken game itself?
I used to know the owner and can confirm console modding was a really controversial topic there. On one hand I guess you could say it set back the development and community of SR1 modding, but on the other, I could see where they were coming from. Back then the only real way to mod sr1 was to have a JTAG or RGH and that brings a heap of problems. Since they were semi-associated with Volition, any endorsement of tampering with microsoft's hardware was a huge no-no. Corpo business relation junk. Obviously that's lame and why I made this video, but still I get it. If I had time I'd explain the intricacies of why the community feels the need to white knight Volition, but these days you hardly see it as much. There's been enough comments by ex-employees that have all said working there sucks and management is toxic. Volition is nothing like it was 10 years ago, let alone 5. It's a husk of whatever it was.
Great guide! Couple more things: Exit Steam because Steam controller settings might interfere with any emulator controller settings. Enable FXAA and AMD FSR in the post-processing settings. Big visual improvement with very little performance impact.

Do you think you could touch on installing SR1's DLCs to Xenia? There's no guides specifically for Saints Row, and the guides for other games didn't work for either SR1 or SR2 for me, I'd love to have access to the DLC, specially the console-locked DLC of SR2, but no one has showed how to set that up.
This video is about as random as Namco announcing a Budokai Tenkaichi sequel 16 years after the last entry released to an auditorium filled with a full total of 85 people
I only beat SR4, which was fun but I know that it wasn't a Saints Row Game. It only took me to watch all SR1&2 Cutscenes to see why Saints Row is Great. Sadly, gaming on PC feels more like work to me but I'll give this SR1 mod a shot one day^^
I never thought I'd see the day where not only does my favorite Saints Row game become playable on PC, but all the modding and online support on the way. I thought I was one of the few who still cared about this gem.
Saints Row 1 is one of my favourite games ever. I might have to get into the modding scene for this I want there to eventually be a similar mod for Gentlemen of the Row but for SR1 so I want to learn as much as I can to work on something for SR1
I can't wait to see one day a Fivem like application where people can RP online together with both assets and scripts from SR1 & 2. If no one has started this yet and your reading this thinking about it, go right ahead lol.
Sorry Flippy, but you missed the part where you showed us how to fix this problem after moving Misc and Misc2 into the SR1 Tools folder: Disc Read Error There's been an issue reading content from the game disc. This is likely caused by bad or unimplemented file IO calls.
be careful not use the xex 60 fps file the activity bugs and does not give us a reward once level 8 is finished. for example no molotov at the end of barrio district mayhem and no weapon in the hitman + various script bugs in the main missions. i advise you to get an iso version of saints row 1 works perfectly at 30 fps constant the dlc supplied by flippy works except for the pack with the 2 cars (The Gankster Pack) which only works with the xex 60 fps.
For anyone having issue finding the directory when trying to pack, you need to have actually moved the misc files otherwise it will error, I stupidly thought I was being smart by copying the 2 over but no, it was causing the conflict
I keep on getting an "unable to mount {}; file not found corrupt." error on xenia. I turned the educational saints row download (both the mirror and archive one) into an iso via anyburn, and I keep getting said error. Any help would be appreciated I feel like a total dummy
whenever i download the saints row file it doesn't download the ISO with it? i downloaded it 3 times to check if it was a downloading mistake but it never appeared, any ideas on what to do?
flippy, please, don’t unlist your videos; i.. i can’t bear to lose you more seriously though you’ve been a strangely comforting channel since i was young and for some reason i can’t “Join” your channel?
so after finishing a couple activities by playing with the 60 fps mod, the rewards are broken. I finished the vice kings mayhem activity and did not get the pop up on the grenades and they were not in the crib. Then I finished the Chinatown assassinations and only got one pop up and that was getting mr wong as a homie but no platinum smg. And just like the grenades it did not appear in the crib. Not sure if its just in my end or if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.

As always, I adore and appreciate the hell out of how much work you put into everything. True 'Go Big or Go Home' stuff.
Impresses me every time, thank you for it.
wow if only i had this tutorial before i went through all the effort of not only learning how to rip games off of my 360 and then learning the ins and outs of the xenia emulator (which the process caused me to fall in love with it) good stuff flippy may this video and its comment section help many new comers to emulation
Great video! Does a good job at summing up the modding process
Saints Row can be a really fun game to mod once you learn it's quirks
Hopefully this'll help people trying to get into it, thanks Flippy 🙏
Something like this would be much appreciated for saints row 2 since it has a (broken) PC release
You haven't tried the gentleman of the Roll mod
@@Sammy_the_best_there_ever_was Even with that the game is still glitchy. Even in cutscenes.
Gotta thank you for making a video about SR1 modding, i happen to mod the game myself lol
The Best Part Is When You Mentioned Restoreing The Gang Server If Its Possible I Would Definitely Look Into Getting A Pc Again
This video is about as random as Namco announcing a Budokai Tenkaichi sequel 16 years after the last entry released to an auditorium filled with a full total of 85 people
I know I am late but I am so glad I found this video thank you Flippy now I can enjoy the OGs even better
I only beat SR4, which was fun but I know that it wasn't a Saints Row Game. It only took me to watch all SR1&2 Cutscenes to see why Saints Row is Great.
Sadly, gaming on PC feels more like work to me but I'll give this SR1 mod a shot one day^^
brother words can not describe to you how thankful i am for you
Thank God I own a physical copy of Saints Row 1, maybe a few too many as they're not in top shape but backwards compatibility is a god send.
I never thought I'd see the day where not only does my favorite Saints Row game become playable on PC, but all the modding and online support on the way. I thought I was one of the few who still cared about this gem.
Thank you for keeping this gem alive
I’m proud of myself for knowing what ratio meant. You’re a good man
Whenever flippy uploads, my day gets better.
Wish to see SR2(PC) in optimized rendering, we knew this game still blasts even 10 years later.
Love your videos, never stop making them!
i dont understand how to download the patches can someone help me pls
dont worry yung bruh i figured it out
Wtf lil tracy doin here!?😂😂😂
Saints Row 1 is one of my favourite games ever. I might have to get into the modding scene for this I want there to eventually be a similar mod for Gentlemen of the Row but for SR1 so I want to learn as much as I can to work on something for SR1
Honestly, I'm interested! Thanks a lot, Flippy!
6:41 RIP IdolNinja. You didn't deserve that SHELL of volition bastardizing the game you put your final days into.
i am loving all of these new videos thank u mr flip
I can't believe you realised this video two days after I started playing SR1 on Xenia.
I can't wait to see one day a Fivem like application where people can RP online together with both assets and scripts from SR1 & 2.
If no one has started this yet and your reading this thinking about it, go right ahead lol.
Finish your saints row walkthrough
Can't believe you've been sneeding saints row 1 for over a decade, thats powerful
Xenia with one of the patches started running really really well, and for SR1 you even have the option of Ugly mode if you are so desperate.
Sorry Flippy, but you missed the part where you showed us how to fix this problem after moving Misc and Misc2 into the SR1 Tools folder:
Disc Read Error
There's been an issue reading content from the game disc. This is likely caused by bad or unimplemented file IO calls.
@LazyLexy 212 I get the same issue let me know if you figure out how to fix it please
@@CallumOneil999 remove any spaces in your folder names
be careful not use the xex 60 fps file the activity bugs and does not give us a reward once level 8 is finished. for example no molotov at the end of barrio district mayhem and no weapon in the hitman + various script bugs in the main missions. i advise you to get an iso version of saints row 1 works perfectly at 30 fps constant the dlc supplied by flippy works except for the pack with the 2 cars (The Gankster Pack) which only works with the xex 60 fps.
This was my fave game of all time. Online was awesome.
How do you find the file to open with xenia for saints row 1 at this point in the vid 1:08
HOLY SHIT, A NEW Filppy video?! WOW! Annnnd he will be gone again :(
beuh there isnt any disc image file when I download the game
whenever i download the saints row file it doesn't download the ISO with it? i downloaded it 3 times to check if it was a downloading mistake but it never appeared, any ideas on what to do?
flippy, please, don’t unlist your videos; i.. i can’t bear to lose you more
seriously though you’ve been a strangely comforting channel since i was young and for some reason i can’t “Join” your channel?
played it on series S and man, its a superb game and its sad to know what the series went down into
I have no idea what you just said. but it looks better than the reboot saints row
Thanks for the iso you didn't give me ;) good info as well I'm super late but super excited to play this
THANK YOU, FLIPPY! I CAN PLAY SAINTS ROW ON PC NOW!
does this mean we could potentially see Saints Row 1's multiplayer resurrected by the community?
so after finishing a couple activities by playing with the 60 fps mod, the rewards are broken.
@GODZHAND doing it through the default_60_fps.xex
BASED for not playing pretend with used copies and just providing a download link
