Two Tawny Owls checking out a nest box - is it for them ?

- I initially built this nest box for Barn Owls. It’s constructed from an old whisky barrel and makes a great home for the owls. It's warm, weatherproof, and has plenty of space for them to raise a family.
I equipped the box with high-resolution 4K CCTV cameras so that I could watch and record what happens in the nest box. To my surprise, the first owl to take a peek was a Tawny Owl that I've named “Izzy.”
Izzy popped back a few times to the box and struggled to get inside, as the hole was made relatively small just for Barn Owls. Having Barn Owls in other boxes I've already put up, I decided to make the hole bigger to encourage a Tawny to nest in this box, which is well away from our other Barn Owl boxes.
After making the hole a little bigger, I noticed this mating pair making a visit.
Will they like it, will they return?
If you have sound, please switch it on as the two owls are very vocal and communicate with each other on this “house viewing”.
Enjoy! & please watch more from my channel @BarnOwlLive as I add videos.

Nice pad. I wish I could stumble upon the human equivalent.

Their callings are so beautiful! Hope they will find ideal nest soon.

I hope they choose this beautiful home. !
Beautiful sound ❤❤
Aww i love tawny owls!
Beautiful Birds
May I know which brand and model of camera that you are using? The quality is pretty phenomenal!
Not sure if it was Ringo or the female that was first in and last out, but he or she seemed very impressed with the accommodations. Even going so far as to bury her/his head in the leaves to simulate sleeping conditions. He/she must have been thinking: "We'd better put a bid in on this one before we lose out." 😅 Great video!
I'm pleased you like it. They do keep coming back, fingers crossed for some outlets !
Looks like this owl couple just bought the 🏠 house from another owl couple that was retiring! 😊🦉❤️🦉❤️😊
Hi Paul :) Have you considered streaming directly on UA-cam?
SHE at the entrance, does not like HIS furniture and the distance to the next mall
Fussy things owls lol
Very cool video! I have an entire playlist on my channel dedicated to the barn owl conservation efforts I've been involved with for the past four years at my archery club in Chino Hills, CA. If you're trying to attract barn owls to your area for pest control, or just because you love them and think they're cool - I HIGHLY recommend using the design that I employ. I didn't come up with the design, but adopted it from the Barn Owl Trust, a UK organization dedicated to furthering the propagation of the species. I'm very interested in the types of cameras you're using. Please get in touch with me when you can. Thanks!
Nice. Is there a link to the live stream?

Too much light! Try using night vision equipment....owls are nocturnal...they need zero light! I think all that light could be damaging to their amazing eyes.
Aside from the too much light issue, your nest box is Beautiful!
It's infrared light, they don't see it.
As the other reply said I use infra red to illuminate the boxes so the owls can see it as its invisible to their eyes.
