The gross looking/sounding stuff at 3:21 is spent grain from the mash. It's basically the solids if you made oatmeal and squeezed out all the liquid. It smells and tastes better than it looks. We have area farmers pick up ours to feed their cattle, but I've also used it to make cookies and pizza dough.
I used this video in my Honors World Cultures presentation for Munich, great quality video... I like that you are having fun doing touristy things but also being informational for the viewers at the same time. You’ve earned a new subscription!!!
You can take the S-Bahn to Freising to visit the Weihenstephan brewery. You can also take it to Herrsching for a visit to the Andechs brewery/monastery on the Ammersee. No need to pay for an expensive rental car and expensive gas.
Some of your best drone and handheld shots yet. I love it when they are more than just a one or two second clip like in some of the earlier vlogs. Personally I need more time like you just gave us to absorb the images and appreciate the beauty. Great job. You guys get better every time. I love how you are constantly refining your craft.
I kept waiting for one of you to attempt to pronounce Weihenstephan :( It's Y-hen-stefan and I only know that because our concierge at the hotel corrected whatever atrocious pronunciation I used. We actually took a quick bus ride from the Munich airport to the village the brewery is in, Freising, and from there it's a short walk to the brewery. I highly recommend the trip.
5:23 Vitus is a weizen bock. A bock is usually darker and has more alcohol. 5:38 It's actually pronounced hay-fah-vit-zen, not hef-uh-why-zen. You mentioned it always tastes like banana. That is a signature flavor of hefeweizen. The yeast esters and phenols produce banana and clove flavors. Love Weihenstephaner beers. Truly world class.
Cheers the gears. Will do, when permits. For now, I can only afford to watch travel videos as I save funds. Over the weekend, I was like in Germany due to your videos 😁👍
So you know in the German language the pronunciation of a word starting with the letter W is pronounce as if that W was a V... So In English it would be vice beer
Absolute scenes!!! @ Bavarian Countryside...darker Malt beer seems to an inspiration of local in house Simba Stout Craft beer which one of my favs 💓 with darker hops although the Witbier would be close 2nd mate..#beernerdforlife
Great video!! Nice to see the oldest brewery ...hope I can visit there one day! Funny thing...when you were describing the flavor notes of a Hefeweizen saying, "Banana, clove" , I was like yesss good job..your're exactly right!!! loll (beer snob over here lol)
oh nooo then I watched the rest of the video and you said a Bock is like a New Castle (a stout) Noooo! lol....Bocks are more auburn in color and taste completely different...but I'm super jealous you got to go there cuz I love Bocks!!! Cheers! (plz dont mind my snubbery lol)
Thanks for the compliment! Haha, I guess I drew the comparison from New Castle's maltiness and slight caramel flavor. Either way you should definitely pick some up, to try out, if you ever get the chance!
I've tried that before! I can def recommend waayyy better stouts if you'd like! 😁 (and if you like dopplebocks.. Try Troegs Troegenator.. It's super yummy.. Got some in the fridge now in fact lol) Fun fact: All dopplebocks names end in "ator" lol
but...they drove on the autobahn ...Typical americans who think the "Autobahn" is some sort of roller coaster ride when it's just the German word for highway .....there's also speed limits everywhere...they probably thought Ausfahrt was funny too
yes you can, If you're 21 or older and you have have finished you're probationary period of two years. But you're only allowed to have 0.5 % level of alcohol in blood. So around 2 beers are OK. More than that -> Not allowed to drive. (That's the case for Germany. Don't know what regulations for other countries)

Nice production!
LOVE THIS WEINSTEPHANER
My favourite beer. Unfortunately the pub I used to drink it closed in April. Both Wiess and Dunkel are outstanding
Watching this video enjoying one of their beers!

I don't know any magazine cover looking couples like this one. They made the subject look like fun and I feel like I'm there with the group.
Thanks Brian! Was a fun trip!
The tall guy seems patient intelligent, humble, very pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly. His girlfriend seems to be the exact opposite.
I pause the video to look for this comment, It took me 1: 58 to notice ( I pause the video so I know ) just 2 minutes is already too much of her.
I really do not agree.
You are an envious.

True, although to get to Weltenburg Abbey you will need to pay for that expensive rental and expensive gas 😉
Is gas really expensive there?
Kloster Weltenburg is located at the Danube River.
Best beer in the world (besides erdinger urweisse)

The beer from Weltenburg is the best. 😋

“It’s that big” lol got me good
Pretty much exactly how I envisioned this brewery looking. My favorite beer
did you ever try Kreuzburg Monistary and their beer. You have gotta try this one...you won't regret it.
We didn't but it's now on the list 😉

You guys should go as Kylo Ren and Rey for Halloween. I’m enjoying your Germany vids! 👍
They totally taste like there’s banana in them! Agreed!

Fucking hell ! where did they show the brewery???? They just couldn't get rid of themselves
Saw that dumpling at about 5:23. We call them Gut balls! LOL.
The Wandering Wife 😂
I believe the fermented waste gets fed to the farm animals, not just thrown out, still plenty of nourishment.

A Vitus is a Weizenboch rather than a hefeweizen.
Muito bom, keep up with the great videos :)

Can you actually drink and drive?
Karla B No

@@DaTatscher 0.5 % ???????? ahah if your blood would be 0.5% alcohol you would be dead. You measure it in promille....
@@Paula-eq7em I'm sure he meant. .05. Where drinking limit in US is .08
