From smokingpipes.com: "Peter Stokkebye's Luxury Bullseye Flake is a delightful blend of Virginias and Perique, with a touch of black Cavendish - thinly sliced into neat bullseye coins."
It’s not even that the reading voice is by itself hilarious, but the sudden change that gets me every time.
The 1.5 lb (24oz I think) boxes are what you get when you order the largest size on sp or 4nog. 3 rows of flakes, great video!
This is one of my top all time blends, maybe my desert island blend. Let it age for 6-12 months and enjoy!
I can remember you talking about LBF VERY enthusiastically in the past.
Thanks for the review. I have been living vicariously through your reviews for the last 1.5 years. I've lost my sense of smell for some reason, and now all I get when I smoke my pipe is some rather nasty tasting hot air. I miss pipe smoking...
Yikes. I'm sorry to hear that!
Take 30mg of Zinc a day. Loss of smell is a sign of Zinc deficiency.
@@randomytchan I tried that and so many other things. It finally came back on it's own. I can appreciate what those folks who get Covid go through when they lose their sense of smell.
I picked 4oz of this about a month ago. It's become a blend I'll always try to keep on hand. Really good stuff.
It's so funny, I was trawling your reviews for Stokkebye Bullseye Flake just yesterday! I actually find the "bag aroma" of the flakes a bit sickly sweet, treacly, or molasses-like. When smoked I don't mind the flavor but I but am not enamored with it. It does bite me a little. Great review as usual my good friend Bradley! The audience.
I'm glad you found this video!
wow, awesome. I remember asking you to do this review a couple of months ago! Thanks for posting it up!
btw, my parents lived in Federal Way and Fife at one point. Didn't know you were from WA. I should've caught onto it since I've been watching so many of your videos.
I've found that this blend is all about the DGT. Pack and char light, take a few puffs and set it down for 8-12 hrs. Go back to it and the character changes so much. Richer, fuller, more integrated.
I used to purchase the boxes from marscigars.com but he's out at the moment. Luxury Navy Flake is another winner. Been smoking it for over a decade now.
I just learned a lot from your tobbaco reviews. Thank you pal, I love your videos. I just ask 2 oz from this tobacco. Can't wait to taste it! By the way, the cost that you mention at the beggining of the video, is similar to the cost here in MX.
Thanks for watching!
I'm still meaning to try some of this stuff.
So glad I found this channel
I love Stokkebye's blends. Nice review
I do like it, and I have A LOT of it- but I also find it to be a frustrating smoke. Thanks for the review.
sometimes for me too...
For me it's that LITTLE bit of bite that it can give me... keeps it from being smoked more often.
@@stuffandthingsyoutube try some thats been cellared 2-3 yes. Big difference.
BTW your reviews are the best on the web.
Btw, for those viewers that can, you should jar up and age your bulks and buy additional tins. I recently purchased 20 year old Dunhill My Mixture at the Chicago pipe show. I probably did not need it as I have 75 lbs of pipe tobacco in my cellar.
75lbs of pipe tobacco in your cellar. Let me be the first to say I hate you.
75lbs! More than you can smoke in ten lifetimes.
Agree that rubbing (the coin) it out is far better. It seems to be blended to have that bullseye Cavendish mixed evenly vs as a piecemeal part of the bowl.
Hey Bradley Excellent review I want to break in a new pipe for a vaper blend I want to try this blend and hope it doesn't bite me I think I will rub it out so I can enjoy the whole bouquet of flavors it sounds very delightful I think I will like it thanks for sharing buddy you did a great review Bradley as always ☺☺☺☺👍👍👍👍👍👍 best regards Peter.
I think you'll like it, and even if you don't, it's pretty cheap so no harm done.
I completely forgot to mention that I got some of these that were a little more than 4 years old and the difference compared to the fresh ones (from SP) was worlds apart-just incredible. That grassy flavor matures into something truly awesome. The harshness that you talk about with the possibility of bite is gone! The BC center also mellows-out and isn't as sweet.
Since I notice you like your blends sans-sweetness like myself, I'll impart this bit of advice; if you happen to have any hanging around or buy some again, stick a couple ounces in a jar, stack 'em neat, and cellar those babies! You won't regret it in a few years' time when you've nearly forgotten about them and then boom-baby(!!!), you get one of the best Va/Per spin-off's you've ever had. I try not to exaggerate this point but it's hard, because it was that good. Lovin' the reviews BTW, I've been watching you on my TV, and since I haven't been able to comment I figured I'd just leave you a big ol' one right here where I left off.
Have a good one!
Brandon Alan I agree with aging especially with this blend; a year or more makes a big difference..
Admittedly, the child in me giggles every time you mention "rubbing out" a flake or coin. As usual, very good review.
I really enjoy this when I have the time to just chill out. The changing of flavours makes it a nice experience. You do need a drink to go with it.
I like this blend and I'd say your review echoes my own, but I got very little bite. DEF rub this blend. When I did the "fold & stuff" it was a disaster-Cav didn't burn. Query: Do ya like those Softy Bits? Muttnchop Piper says he prefers heat-shrink tubing because it's less bulky and more form-fitting, though I've yet to try either one. At any rate..Regards from Cape Cod! 👍
I prefer the bits, but they definitely are a bit more "girthy" than the tubing.
Although I'm more of a holder than a clencher, some of the nicer pipes I have I'd like to keep their stems as clean & shiny as possible. Also, I'm always interested in hearing other pipers' opinions.
Larry here from kamloops BC , I haven't seen that blend of flake madallions at my puff puff pass tobacco slash shop, mmm maybe the closest flake to that is Danidoff flake madallions mixture, it looks the same but not shure if it smells or tastes the same...I wish the prices in the good old USA were the same in Canada it shure makes it hard to try the tobacco blends, when our government shure likes to bend us over , am I the only one who feels that way.??? But enough wineing ... happy pipeing to all ..hope all are safe and well ...Larry
Excellent review Bradley. Congrats. I liked it a lot. Thank you. Have a nice week.
Thanks for watching!
Good review as as always so thanks. LBF is close to Davidoffs Flake Medallions execpt LBF has little more Perique. Usually I just fold the coin into bowl. I still prefer Escudo over Stokkebye's.
Great video as always! I always look forward to having a bowl and listening to your interpretation of the many different blends you have reviewed over the years.. good stuff Brad! Do you think it's almost time to do a re-review of Elizabethan? Perhaps on the anniversary of the initial review post?
It is available in Tins in Europe, there it is sold as Orlik Luxury Bullseye Flake. in the Us it is only available in bulk and marketed as Peter Stokkebye. But it is produced by Orlik.
This is my current favorite tobacco and all day smoke, so I feel the same way you'd feel someone reviewing your Elizabethan :D
I would love it if you could also give your thoughts on the other Stokkebye flakes, the navy flake and the twist flake. I think they're good quality(but inexpensive!) tobaccos and done quite well, if you get a chance to pick up an ounce some time. The thing I enjoy from the Stokkebye tobaccos is they really do _taste_ like tobacco, and any toppings are usually applied very tactfully-- and STG tends to use tobacco that is, to my palette, good quality. I think the tin/bag note on the Navy Flake especially is just divine. Cheers
It's a tad more expensive, but Davidoff Flake Medallions definitely hits the spot when it comes to this kind of blend. I found the tobacco quality to be excellent.
Also, out of curiosity, how come the pipe in your thumbnail is the recently purchased Peterson spigot and not the one you're actually smoking from? :)
Suhail Vawda o
I don't always record the review and take the pictures on the same day.
Thanks ... greetings from New York
I ask for 2 oz. after you review. Today, reach here. Not the best tobacco I tasted, but a good option indeed. Thank you for all your reviews. Saludos desde México.
Pipes & Cigars has the 24oz box for $79.65 as of Apr. 2024; and it is in stock. Making it $3.32 per oz. Spend $99 and receive free shipping. I will be ordering it soon...if there's any left when I order. So; LEAVE SOME FOR ME! I can order it for you and pay no taxes, but you need to drive down to Oregon to pick it up. Oh, Stokkebye's website suggests to rub out and pack lightly/loosely. Others also confirm this way is best.
LBF is good stuff. That batch you have looks a little darker than usual. May have some age on it. Thanks for the review.
Quite possible.
Hey Bradley. A couple of things. First have you had a problem with ghosting with you pipes, and how have you dealt with that?
Second, I came across a blend here in Canada that I find mighty tasty. It's from Davidoff and it's their Scottish Mixture. It's a blend consisting of burley, Virginia, Kentucky with a little bit of Turkish/Orientals. They've added a little bit of a whiskey topping but it's subtle. I took a shot in the dark and picked up a 50g tin while traveling. I really liked it right away. Not sure if you've tried this in your tobacco journey , but if you haven't it's worth checking out.
I've never had an issue with ghosting, but I also don't smoke aromatics.
Thanks for watching!
I acquired a 1.5lb box about 3 years ago. I cellared a little over a pound of it and smoked maybe 2-3 ounces of it, coming to more or less the same conclusions that you did. Well, the anticipation of this review seemed as good a reason as any to crack open one of the aging jars and see how time has treated it. I can confirm in no uncertain terms that it is a completely and totally different animal with a few years of age on it. All of the rough edges are gone, the Virginias are definitely richer, less grassy, the Perique is less spicy, more figgy. Cavendish is about the same as I remembered it. I gotta say, for as cheap as it is and as nicely as it improves with time, anyone who likes VaPers would but nuts not to buy a decent chunk solely for cellaring. Seriously folks, don't even smoke it, just jar up and forget about it. I prefer to fold and stuff, the random Cavendish surprise midway through the bowl is half the fun of this blend in my opinion. Anywho, great video as always, can't wait to see what is reviewed next. Maybe think about squeezing some McClelland 40th anniversary (limited edition) Virginia in before the year is through?
It's definitively a great candidate for salting away for a few years.
Love your content - thanks for putting it out there! Surprised you get bite - I feel like this is an incredibly smooth smoke. This is one of the first blends that transitioned me away from aromatics and into VaPers. Certainly a great value blend and worth trying at any step in a pipers journey. I look forward to more vids!
Thanks for watching!
i saw what i believe is one of those 1.5lb boxes at my local...its a small white box with the peter stokkebye logo, might have said luxury bullseye flake on it as well
FYI, if you order bulk of any of the Stokkebye Luxury flakes, and select 24oz, you will get a 1.5lb box of flakes lined up in beautiful rows! I think Smokingpipes & P&C do this (maybe others too). I got my boxes from P&C last time and it came out to less than $2.50/oz.
Hi ,i enjoy your videos and thank you for the tipp, here in Britain is way way overpriced the tobacco ,not mentioning the stupid health warning which ruins the aspect of the tin completley (i start collecting the tins too)so from now on im ordering exclusively from the USA.Beside the fact that i can purchase nice American blends ,they are polite and Smoking Pipes have an exellent customer service .
Thank you
Angus
We may have those warning labels here soon as well. A shame.
is not just that ,but let me tell you the top of stupidity in uk(not in capitols anymore)all the cigarett packiging have to be in the same packiging ,same stupid brown blank packing with the name ,thats it ,pipe tobaccos arnt included ,well another novelty in regard of uk idiocy .The 50 gramm tobacco tins (as of this month )have to be double in height(see 100gramm tin)in order to place a wider sticker with health warning ...ugh...
I have a lot of this tobacco in my cellar. And I can not say it becomes much better with age. It becomes darker, mature, but a little bit more bitter. So, basically, fresh and aged - are two different tobacco.
when you Google on this tobacco and attach box to it you can find images from 1.5lbs boxes. hope this helps you.

Brad maybe it is nice to explain the differences from C&D and G.L. Pease. They are both from the same company but are there changes in fabrication at the total assortment of tobacco.
Hey Bradley! Nice video as usual my friend. Have you tried sutliff elixabethan mixture match yet? It's such a delicious blend. Lots of bright virginias in it. It isn't as deep and dark as the current dunhill EM. It's sweet with lots of citrus and fruits notes. Quite pleasing. I really liked the dunhill EM, but sutliff EM is also a really good unique blend.
Not yet. I'm sure I'll get to it someday.
STUFFandTHINGS STUFFandTHINGS You might be hesitant because you must think that sutliff has used low quality leaves in this blend like most of the other blends they make, but I can assure you that it isn't a low quality leaf ! You also don't need to make it a video, just try and enjoy the blend. What's your PO box? I might just make an order and make it go your way pal ;)
I had that same problem with Stokkebye bright virginias, harsh and bity. After some time in a jar they smoke a lot better, but still way too sweet for my tastebuds.
Bradley I know this is an older review. I've been playing with removing the black cavendish center for the last two weeks. Think I like it better that way. Been making one cut from center out, straightening the shreds out and stuffing vertically in the pipe. Not rubbing it out at all but separating the strands a bit before stuffing vertically. This slows down the burn and seems to bring out more flavor and smooths it a bit. Have you ever reviewed Luxury Navy Flake by Stokebye? Thats the same way I enjoy it the most. Think I like it better than LBF. I've searched your channel heavily and can't find it at all. I think it might be the best of the these two with a touch less bite although I don't get much from either but slightly more from LBF. I've become very used to looking for your thoughts on a blend before I order it!
"I pay $8 an ounce, we have high tobacco taxes" laughs in Australia paying $120 a tin...
Fucking Christ man
@@testtickles8755 wanna know the real kicker? The tax is to cover the medical costs of treating smoking related diseases, which is fine. I don't mind that. But we pay 6 times more than smokers cost the medical system lol. It's legit extortion.
Have you tried Sutliff's Elizabethan Mixture Match blend? Wondering how it would compare with the original? Just a thought.
I rub it out vigorously as well . Consider reviewing Roppers Rounders from Dan Tobacco
You're very well spoken. Any tips for that? I feel like I know a lot of words but always use the same words more or less.
Hmmm.... I don't know if I have any useful advice other then to say, if you want to get better at public speaking, the best thing you can do is speak in public. A lot! It's definitely one of those things that becomes easier the more you do it.
Sam Blackshire I would recommend reading good books constantly. Your vocabulary will improve. Toastmasters, or other organisations who train people in public speaking are as good an investment as you could ever make.
3$ / oz here in pa.
I haven't rubbed this one out too much, but I am one that likes the slight changes in flavor when you hit the bullseye. It's $3 an ounce on The Story Teller's Pipe!
Is there any other way to rub it out other than vigorously?
I just mixed what I had left of stokkebye navy and bullseye flakes as well as stokkebyes English oriental supreme. Because why not. We will see how this goes.
So delish... can't get it here. SAD! DTM Roper's Roundels is the same. I love this and always have a 100g tin. Nice review!
Thanks for watching!
i absolutely love the Bullseye Flake. It has never bitten me, whereas Deluxe Navy Rolls do. It is my everyday Virginia, but that's a bit of a misnomer, because i don't smoke Virginias daily. i am much more of an English/Balkan smoker. i mostly enjoy MacBaren HH Vintage Syrian, and Brebbia #9 Latakia Flake as daily smokes. i like a bowl of Crooner here and there, so i keep a few ounces cellared. For the Bullseye Flake, in the times i want a deeper, dark Virginia taste, i will mix in a small amount of Gawith's St. James Flake.
i know the wonderful Syrian Latakia is almost gone, which doesn't amount to a hill of beans, compared to the human suffering, deaths and displacement. i truly hope their culture is made whole again, more than anything. i also know i cannot have the Syrian forever, much as Bradley cannot store enough Elizabethan for a lifetime. i have 6 1 lb bags, and i dont know how many of the large and small tins. Of course the Brebbia will soon be gone as well. i have found that My Mixture 965 comes fairly close, but it is going away too, so i have a quest ahead, myself.
Bradley- wait until you see what my first video is about. It is stunning, and came as a HUGE surprise to me that it was available, and everything that followed. :)
Good Day to All, and Thanks for another Great Show, Bradley,
-trout
I'll be looking forward to it!
I had to add a hefty amount of latakia to the blend for my taste. Yes it is a bit funny to have latakia with the cavendish, but I thought it was ok.
What kind of lighter are you using? I am tired of using Bic lighters and I am seeing lighters like this over and over in pipe smoking videos, but can't get anyone to tell me what kind of lighter they're using! Lol..
Damn it bro. That's alot where you live. But we cant put the pipe down. We love it.
Can't get tobacco offline in Washington state anymore can you?
Really getting into the VaPers this year so may give this a look. Cheers.
hey i was wondering if you have a facebook for this channel or just a personal page, im new to pipe smoking just trying to learn about this awesome world of pipe smoking

Corey C It is a fine group of people. Welcome.
Kolossal Squid thank you 😃
Corey C- i can only echo what everyone here has said. There are quite a few good channels in the YTPC, and Bradley's Stuff and Things is truly top shelf. Great info, Great Host, & Great People in the comments section. Everybody here is outta sight, they don't bark and they don't bite. :)
This was the first YTPChannel i came to, and the one i spend the most time on. Like Tobacco Blends, each Channel brings its own flavor to the YTPC, and as others before me have said, Bienvenue, Welcome & Willkommen!
Be Well,

I have no idea why your taxes are so high but in the South here in North Carolina I get this blend at 2.38 $ an ounce.
Great stuff :)
I also prefer rubbing it out, vigorously.
PennyStockPimp )) ...I've heard it's good to vigorously rub it..., in a brisk enthusiastic fashion for an satisfying enjoyable experience... 🍄✔
Not sure if you're talking about tobacco!
They're two types of old guys, the nice ones who give you candy and the mean ones that make you cry. And you don't like candy.
I disliked this one at first. Not as much as some others. But I find I miss it and think I was just a little inexperienced with pipe smoking and now I think back about it and find it was a good thing.
I would like it with more black cavendish I think.
Hey bud! I'm pretty sure this is the same stuff that Boswell's uses for their Bulls-eye flake is that right? If you look at their bulk tobacco and flake on their site, i believe all of those are Peter Stokkebye. Do you or anyone else know this for sure or can help confirm?
Im a new pipe smoker, and dude I totally love that silver tray! Is there anything special about it? was it made for pipe smoking?
Nope. It's just a cheap metal tray I found at a junk shop!
5.99oz in Portland at 182nd
What is that pipe you are using?
Anybody know of a Bullseye Flake with Red Virginia?
I am from Washington State too, what B and M do you go too to get the bullseye flakes?
"high tobacco taxes" Well, you still don't have it as bad as us in Canada at least. Pipe smoking interests me so I have been doing some research and up here you are looking at $30-$50 for a 1.5-2 oz tin/pouch on average :( The tax hikes on tobacco have been going insane these last few years.
Scored some of this along with a few ounces of My Mixture 965, arriving tomorrow. A dozen Mason/Ball jars arrived today so I can store my loot safely. I confess, I've spent most of my sporadic piping over the past couple of decades smoking the English and Balkan blends that I _really_ like, and have no recent experience with VaPers! If I enjoy them as much as expected I'll be laying in more, especially the Dunhills since time is pressing...I want some before the existing supplies run out.
Please review luxury navy flake. It has no Cavendish. One of the most popular bulk tobaccos on the internet.
Very enjoyable as are most stokkebye blends.
It appears to be aged well, but I guess it didn't taste that way. I think it's ok, but much prefer their other vap. blend.
oooo. we live in the same state
When dumbbells goes through the trouble of making coins or flakes why would you rub it out? Buy a ribbon cut out some thing then
When you press tobacco into flakes or roll it into coins, it melds the flavors. It was also a method in the past for transport and preservation. You still get some of the flavor benefits, even if you rub it out.
Try it and your opinion will change. Also rubbing it out will require less re-lights.
What pipe is that?
Rub it out vigorously made me laugh uncontrollably, I must be tired. Nice review, I agree with your assessment 100 % However I personally do enjoy the sweetness . Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
By the way, what happened to the usual sound effect as you transition to/from the close-up of the cut? You should bring it back, the swoosh sound is too subtle.

A blend of ripe Virginia tobaccos spiced with pure Louisiana Perique. The center of Black Cavendish smooths out the taste. The outer blend is pressed into thin layers before being tightly spun around a stick of pressed Black Cavendish. The result is a massive ‘cigar’ which is cut into ‘medallions’ and packed. Lightly aromatic, medium strength. Most enjoyable on its own. Select 2 to 3 slices - rub gently by hand and fill the pipe lightly.
it's very good value online decent stuff.
Never felt any nicotine from any pipe tobacco. But I smoke with filter, that might be the reason..
Have you tried Peterson’s Irish Flake?
@@dorianphilotheates3769 no, but it sounds fantastic. I guess it's high in nicotine? ;) will give it a try
Rock Heiland - Yes, it definitely has a good dose of vitamin N; Bradley has reviewed it - check it out.

Honest Cigar Reviews )) Dude...😎☕🍺✔🌲
I loved the LBF review. This blend, as a number of the Stockkebye bulk blends are vastly different with age., with LBF being vastly different with as little as three months of age in sealed mason jars. I have 4 lbs of this in Mason jars aging in my basement. I recently opened a jar I sealed in February of 2015, and it was fabukous. For the Stokkebye bulks, I strongly recommend storing some in hand sealed mason jars and letting them age.I prefer LBF to Escudo when the LBF has been aged at least 6 months, preferably 1 full year.
That's good to know. I tried some out and didn't love it at first, but I'm letting it sit for a while now.
I also found a little harsh bite. The only thing I found I didn't like.
Good after 8-12 months in the jar.... fresh didn’t have the taste. It is so cheap for how good it is.
"The circular motion .... rub it."
Frank Zappa .
ha
This is really one that needs to be jarred up for at least six months before smoking.
Hold on let me guess before I watch, it's horrible and not up to par. Lol
Did he say high tobacco tax? Lol come to Ontario Canada if you wanna see high tobacco tax. 50+$ for a 50g tin, high tobacco tax lol 😂
jayro4113 - I suspect that some day very soon, Canadians will look back wistfully to a time when pipe tobacco cost only a mere dollar per gram...
@@dorianphilotheates3769 more than likely if that dip shit Trudeau stays in office any longer
jayro4113 - Say what you will about J.T., but the exorbitant taxes on tobacco in Canada began long before he ever entered politics and will continue long after he’s departed...
