😎😎😎😎😎 This is one of my favorite tobacco's, I have two pounds cellared if that tells you anything. When I first tried pipe smoking three years ago I bought an ounce of this and also an ounce of Luxury Bullseye Flake. I was a big cigar smoker at the time and just couldn't get the hang of the pipe. So I set aside the tobacco's and forgot about them.
I decided to try the pipe again earlier this year. Your videos, along with a few other YTPC members, have changed my pipe smoking completely. I pulled down these old tobacco's and found them to be wonderful.
One thing I tried is mixing the Navy Flake and the Bullseye Flake in a 1:1 ratio. I like that a lot as well.

I’ll say from experience that this blend benefits greatly with a little age on it. I smoked some when I first got it, and it was a bit one dimensional. I rubbed it all out and stored it in mason jars for two years. I just lit the first bowl tonight with some dark spiced rum. All I can say is WOW! It is smooth, no bite, and stays lit very well. It’s medium bodied with a predominantly fruity spiciness-slightly spicy fig to me with a hint of grassiness. Tastes are subjective, but that’s what I get. I’ve smoked a ton of Vapers including about 10 tins of escudo (great in its own right), but aged Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake is my personal favorite. Try it with 2-3 years of age. It’ll knock you socks off. 4/4 got me

(Mainly an Aromatic smoker)...got an ounce of this today at local B&M...first flake and first VAPer I've tried. have tried a few non-aro's...Dunhill nightcap,my mixture965,he olde signe(dark Virginia)...also sutliff mellow burly...and I gotta say...this has been the most pleasant non-aromatic I've smoked so far...grew up in the country...reminds me of hay-lotta and summer nights....mellow and smooth... :) :) :)

☺☺☺ Very good flake...mine is about a year old...mellows with age very well and is a very relaxing smoke of good quality tobacco. ..The price point makes me keep coming back to Pete blends

😊😊😊😊 I have found the Luxury Navy Flake to be a wonderful smoking tobacco. For me the tin note is that of hay with a fruity citrus smell in the background. Out of the pipe the smoke is smooth and sweet with light notes of hay and spices. Normally I dislike predominantly Virginia tobaccos because they are very sharp on the tongue and smell and taste like cigarettes. However I really like the Luxury Navy Flake and I will be buying a lot more of it for my smoking pleasure.

👍👍👍👍 my personal opinion...I like it better than Orlik Golden Slice. It's bready, smooth, sweet, and just the right amount of spice. Easy to light, easy to keep lit, and tastes fantastic. Plus, the price is RIGHT. Give it a shot!!!

    * * * * While I still do not feel extremely qualified to review blends and given that my palette is still developing, I enjoy this flake. I find that it is predominantly a Virginia experience with a noticeable enhancement from the spicier Perique. My flakes have about 2-3 months of age on them in a jar and I do like it more now than when I first purchased it. However, my first taste of it was my first week of piping so I don't know how reliable that first impression is. For VaPers, I tend to like those that have a majority Virginia profile. I really enjoy certain straight Virginias such as Full Virginia Flake and Dunhill Flake, especially in the morning. I also enjoy Orlik Golden Slices, which seem like a small step above a straight Virginia. LNF seems one incremental step above Golden Slices as far as Perique involvement to me. While I enjoy English blends with noticeable Perique, I do not seem to enjoy heavier Perique VaPers as much such as Elizabethan Mixture which I find dry and on a bitter side. Escudo seems to be about as far as my palette is willing to enjoy the Perique contribution in a VaPer. But that one I do not enjoy in the morning, where I seek the sweeter Virginia component. So all in all, LNF I find a great flavor profile with the Virginia sweetness coming through and a good enhancement on the spicy Perique and also at a very good value price point, if cost is a consideration in your tobacco purchase.

🦍🦍🦍🦍 I really enjoyed this blend. It’s sort of outside of my wheel house, I typically only smoke English and Dark Fired Kentucky blends. I have tried some of the VaPers and this one stands out to me. If sipped slowly you will notice that the taste shifts from sugar to pepper around halfway through the bowl. It also leaves a white ash and stays lit for me. I stayed on a boat for a week in high heat/humidity and smoked this blend exclusively out of my corn cobs about twice a day. It really grows on you.

⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️ - Love the LNF! Been smoking it regularly for about 30 days. Although I've recently reaped the rewards of cellared Virginia blends, I rate based on how good a blend is when it's fresh. LNF is tasty right out of the bag. I agree that it has the usual flue-cured raisin-esque smell, but I enjoy that very much. Love that smell on my fingertips after the prep! There's the fairly typical VAper flavor; though more savory than grassy. Flavor is consistent throughout the smoke-new flavors don't develop halfway through or fall flat at the end. Easy to dry and rub, it behaves well in a variety of chamber sizes, very few relights needed (sometimes none), and no unburnt lattice-like dottle left stuck in the heel. One side note: I find this is very similar to Luxury Bullseye Flake without the Black Cavendish, which I tried by removing the center. Finally I'd just like to say I'm happy this was on the list because it tempted me to try a few more P.S. blends. I'm now a big fan of this brand as I've discovered some great new blends.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to You Mr. Sheets! 🎄
P.S.: I'm saving my Star of the East Flake for the upcoming long Christmas weekend, so I'll review it in about a week. Also, looking forward to Blend Club 2018! 👍🏻

A nice sweet smoke. The Perique is a tad muted. Overall a very nice blend. Especially since it's available in bulk.

¥¥¥ I recently smoke exclusively English tobacco, but for a change I am smoking a bowl of this tobacco tonight. It tastes peppery to me with a hint of sweetness. Reminds me of pure Turkish / Orientals with no Latakia or toppings. The jar has been in my cellar for 3 years. An OK Vaper. Happy Pipe Smoking!

🌱🌱🌱 A strong 3. Hints of drying hay, musty barn, and a bit of pepper. Starts rough, strong, and smoky; slowly gets sweeter, smoother, and even creamy near the end. Excellent value. Good fresh (after air drying), and worth cellaring.

I’m smoking my first bowl of LNF as I watch this review. I’ve had it aging in a jar for 8 months. I didn’t smell the string raisin scent probably since it’s been aging a while. I’m fairly new to VaPers. I’m a newbie (about a year in) and usually smoke aromatics. I’ve had OGS and Erinmore flake. So fake about a half bowl in it’s not bad. 🏆🏆🏆

☺️☺️☺️☺️ This is, in my opinion, the best of the Peter Stolkkebye “Luxury Flakes,” the others being Luxury Twist Flake and Luxury Bullseye Flake. This one has a sweet hay like, grassy aroma. There is Perique here, but it is very subtle and very much in the background - this is not a VaPer Bomb - and the nicotine level is as intense as some VaPer blends tend to be. This is my favorite VaPer and something that I always keep on hand.

😀😀😀😀😀 My favorite of the PS Luxury series. As many have mentioned, it benefits GREATLY with age. Almost night and day, although even the fresh stuff is grand at the end of the bowl.

Before picking pipes back up again I was a light smoker. Only had 1-2 cigs at most for the day. I did not know what perique was and just how potent the nicotine in it is, but I bought it anyway from smokingpipes because it was rated so well among bulk brands. I am accustomed to "drug store brands" and light virginias so you might be able to guess where this is going. I stuffed an entire square into my brand spanking new Savinelli Marco Polo and after smoking it I felt sick. I think if it wasn't for the balsa wood filter I would have puked lol. I was drinking with friends really late the night before and didn't sleep much so that might have made things a bit worse. To add insult to injury it stank up my pipe with a pungent odor. I was livid and also heartbroken because my prized pipe, my cherished Italian villa, is now haunted with a very unwelcome Perique Fart Ghost. After wiping the bowl down with a moist cotton square and tossing out the filter the fart ghost seems to be exiting the premises. Hopefully smoking some light virginias will finally exorcise it.
Despite the bad experience I am going to finish the rest of my LNF, except I will be smoking it out of a Washington Rob Roy cob that I designated as my "stinky pipe". Not anytime very soon, I heard aging it a bit helps so I'll do that first. I do appreciate what blends like this are for, which is waking you up with a kick of nicotine. I'm gonna reach for my stinky pipe whenever I need a pick me up for a sleepless morning or to get through a long day.

👍👍👍 The "tin note" does have a rasin-like aroma. My neighbor who is next to me on the balcony says it smells like a campfire cooking game. I don't detect any flavoring and I get a bit of a sweetness to it and some of the "tang" of the perique. It is easy to smoke and in a medium bowl took about forty minutes for me to finish to a nice white ash. I smoked it in my Altinok billiard meerschaum (9mm filter). Although it won't become one of my regular smokes, it has expanded my palate.

😊😊😊😊... It had a good tin note .. I too smell raisons right away .. lights well and stays light well. For me it is a tasteful smoke if you are sipping on it .... if it gets to hot it looses some of the flavor..great on a retro Hale .... easy smoke from start to finish ... I will definitely be buying more of this one in the future.

I like your videos as you make it clear what your nose tells you and your opinion of it without passing sentence on it. It is good to know as tobacco here is about 5 times or 5 times what you pay in the US so more important not to buy something not to your own taste. Cheers!

I agree with the three smiley face emoji plus one. Dare I say 4 smiley faced emoji's. I give it the four because its really a comparable tobacco to some of the higher end stuff by Dunhill I like to smoke. I've made my rounds through quite a few type's of tobacco and really find Va/Per's like this the most ideal for my palette for daily regular smoking. I really like the toasty Virginia with a little bit of grassy Virginia and the perique content is just right. Slightly sweet with casing and its almost a perfect blend. My only knock is that it can bite. I find it loads better than the Luxury Bullseye. They don't taste at all similar to me and Black Cavendish and hay grassy Virginia's are more something unique to try every now and again, but a good roasted Navy Va/per is on par with Dunhill Navy rolls at a price point that is unbelievable for the quality of tobacco and taste you get. I never buy by the pound, but this I did. Just have to get around that slight bite sometimes.

Slightly spicy, which is complementary to the rest. The taste remains interesting throughout the smoke. The sweet and spicy combo is very nice with this blend.

I agree about the rasin smell .. very plesent blend.. something I could smoke all day . Good spicy / sweet flavor .. Good room note .. I'd give this a 3.5 out of 5 .. I will say I over paid at 4.99 an ounce at my local b/m .. can't wait to buy a bulk amount !

@@@@ I like this blend very much. Only second to Solani's Virginia Flake with Perique. It burns well, but don't be too aggressive because it does not like high heat. I keep it in stock. Raisins, sweet hay and a little flowery with just enough yeast.

:) :) :) :) :) i first got this blend few years ago smoked it and didnt think about it again till this month. i ordered some more this month after i found i could appreciate flavors more and this is absolutely fantastic. this to me is much better than escudo which goes waay to heavy on the perique. requires very few relights and the virginias are perfect. this could easily be an all day smoke for me. the virginias are tangy and the perique is earthy and slightly spicy. if i were trapped on a desert island with one blend to smoke. this would be it. i thought about buying half a pound and cellaring it or atleast some of it. this is almost the holy grail tobacco for me

This is my first navy flake, and my first Virginia perique. I didn't know what to expect. Form me the tin note and taste were generic tobacco. It was not unpleasant, but there was no wow factor either.

☘️☘️☘️ Not an amazing blend, but not a bad blend either. You get pockets of sweetness every once in awhile that bring out the flavor, but it’s otherwise a typical VAPer with some toasty bread, dark fruit, grass, and some spice. It gets smoother as the bowl gets lower, which is interesting as it’s usually the other way around. I could see how this might become somebody’s daily smoke, as it’s perfect for a typical everyday smoking experience. I might have to buy it in bulk and age some.

😊😊😊 Aroma hay, mulch, cut grass, raisins.cut- perfect cut flake; moisture - slightly moist; rubs out nicely; packing - stuffed; burns cool with easy light and easy to keep lit; taste- flavors to tease out, grassy notes, sip it, sweet plumb and gets better 1/2 way thru bowl somewhat ashy on the finish; strength - mild to medium; other thoughts - my least favorite of the 3 main PS flakes; I prefer both PS Bulls Eye or Lux Twist; just want more perique in this I think but it's a very well made blend.

I agree with your assessment. This is my first vaper, so I don't have any context for it in that regard. It's very good, but doesn't really stand out. Not very complex. I'm going to pick up some luxury bullseye flake soon. I'm curious to see how the Cavendish mixes with the virginia and perique.
Thanks for the great videos Muttonchop! You taught me how to smoke a pipe.
