I travelled to 16 cities in China over the span of 6 months last year and I was basically solo traveling this by planes, trains and buses. I can only speak a few Mandarin words and I made it through. It was a life changing experience and I plan to go back next year. I'm traveling in China RIGHT NOW as I type. I'm in Shenzhen. My hotel is in the Dongmen walking street. It's probably the TikTok capital of China!! At night, ALL the TikTokers come out and perform on the streets! There are huge number of people singing, dancing, doing Kungfu, etc every single night. All these while all the shops are blasting songs and music from their loudspeakers. It's really fun and exciting. There are plenty of all kinds of food around. This place is REALLY exciting. A must visit place in the city of Shenzhen in China 👍👍👍
Having said that, I can see that you've been to Xi'an. Hope you've visited the DaTang Everbright City (大唐不夜城) while you were in Xi'an. I Think it's one of the must visit places in China. Highly recommended for anyone going to China 👍👍

I visited China in August. Harbin City, the former capital of Manchukuo, and Sanya, the southernmost city Beautiful places The main thing is that the cultural shock did not happen, I live in Khabarovsk/Vladivostok, and this is next to China. Their culture affects us a little bit
I live in China and I also appreciate the clean and advanced public transport and the general cleaniness of the country (the cleaners do an amazing job). Like any culture, you need to take the good and the bad, without letting negative behaviour spoil the experience.
Nowadays with the advent of smart phone where you can use it to pay, find location & translate, travelling to non-English or an places is of little or no issue anymore. Unliks previously when i travelled to Japan & South Korea, there was a lot of communication problems. I can't speak their languages and neither they can speak English. As for travelling to China, I can testify it's so much cleaner & safer than when I first went there 2 decades ago. For those who are adventurous & would probably go there once in his or her lifetime, I would suggest going there during their Lunar New Year / Spring Festival. Then you will soon find how it's like to be a very crowded yet delightful, maddening yet interesting, noisy yet fantastic kinda holiday atmosphere. Crazy and enjoyable. Being there during their festival twice.🎉🎉🎉
hahaha,Every long holiday, every tourist destination in China is full of people! If you don't mind the crowds, you can also take advantage of our National Day to travel
@@ksks3188 In China, you won’t be robbed while walking and playing with your phone, your wallet won’t be stolen on the bus, and you won’t encounter rats on the subway.
I would also like to add, China is very heavily populated (compared to the population size of the average country), so there are more witnesses everywhere. That factor combined with the abundance of security cameras (for public safety) as well as guns being illegal contributes to its safety.
that’s one of my places that I wanted to visit the most as well as france but these countries are so looked down upon when it comes to tourism which is a shame
Mmm I had school friends that nearly got sex trafficked in France! Multiple of them, at once. Also a seperate instance of someone’s parents being approached by a stranger who asked for a price to buy their child. I wouldn’t say nothing to fear, there definitely is danger especially if you are a young woman.

Sex trafficking isn’t something common in European countries, you just had a bad experience, I never heard anyone be a victim of it
Worked in Guangzhou for 5 years. Great place. Clean, extremely safe, and beautiful. I could see what you mean about the spitting, but never encountered a child misbehaving.
I feel Guangzhou is underrated as a tourist spot in a way. It is known by many, but also seen as more for business. I visited several times and still missed so much because there are so many interesting places and the area is so large. The food in Guangdong is also really good. I love the variety of historical spots from thousands of years ago all the way up to the communist revolution period.
I don't know, China seems pretty awesome to me, I would like to visit Chinese at some point, but first, need to learn Mandarin so I can communicate with them.
Leaving now after 30 days. It’s amazing, at least at the beginning. In the last week I hate every single persons. Everybody just shouting, spitting, the most horrible public toilets I’ve seen in my life and bad smelling ( I’ve seen clearer toilets in Africa or Siria or even India), everybody shouts, they open the subway door or even elevator and won’t let you get out just get stucked there, the sneeze and cought without covering their mouth, children’s running in the hotels 5-6 AM and they keep their doors open; on winter every jacket stinks. It’s interesting, huge and diverse but man, you need your mental power at 100%.
I think you should not come to China again because you are suspected of supporting the ancient serfdom in Tibet, which is anti-human rights and you are not welcome.
Tibet has its own unique culture. You cannot support their restoration of serfdom on the one hand and hate their living habits and environment on the other hand, because this is already the best life for Tibetans since the end of serfdom.

@@wodemoshou not really, we used to think of China as the the Wild Wild West (coming from civilized Hong Kong). But now I think it’s more advanced (infrastructures and tech) and safer than HK. As well as being just as clean .
Visiting China is great. It's best to join a tour. Travelling schedules sometimes could be a little tight, so as visiting other countries. Keep an open mind, and observe the culture. You'll have fun and excitement. Had done many trips and enjoyed every one of them.
Tours are rushed. I would suggest choosing one region in China because it is so huge. Exploring one region in detail is good. I would suggest Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, and Hangzhou with 1-2 historic water towns as a start.
If your are new to China and does not speak mandarin, try starting with Shanghai Guangzhou or Hong Kong first. These places are more like the starter’s pack for foreign travelers😅
I've been to China and if anything, the children are more well behaved than American children. The spitting is getting much better from my prospective, but it's their country and their culture so my choices are to either accept it or don't go.
If you put aside of the culture, history, advanced infrastructure, the safe communities and various of food and give priority to somebody’s bad behavior, then I think there’s nowhere to travel in this world
The kids are nice, but a few are spoiled and misbehave. I have seen parents and grandparents let them pee openly and run around in museums and restaurants. The adults are to blame for thinking such behavior is cute.
@@calvincoolidge1207 China has a population of 1.4 billion, and the total number of homicide deaths in 2023 was 6,300. The United States has a population of 300 million, and the number of gun deaths this year alone among people under the age of 18 has exceeded 1,000. Do you think this is rare?
@@陈鑫-b5r It depends on where you live. In some cities, it is an ordinary occurrence. In many towns, shootings (not all of them are deadly) only happen 1-2 times a year. Deaths from drug overdoses and abortions kill much more people in the USA. I will admit China has a lower violent crime rate. Both nations are much more dangerous when compared to S. Korea and Japan.
As a person who grew up in Xi'an, I am glad that you can love this city.😊Smoking in public places and spoiled children are really annoying exactly😢But in any case, I am still proud to see you walk through the city wall of Xi'an and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which I have walked through.I hope this trip will bring you pleasure.❤
Just spent 2.5 weeks there and LOVED it! I coined the phrase "the three esses" (spitting, shouting, smoking) and they're a bit annoying, but China is an otherwise magnificent and highly interesting place!
Just to follow where you started, if you are new to travel in China, try to start with Shanghai which is an international city and easier for English speakers. Inner China may be a little challenging but totally up to visitors.
I don’t agree that kids are spoiled in China. I’ve seen much worse in other countries. Here I frequently see how parents educate their kids and don’t let them misbehave
I loved my time in China, but I agree about the spitting, chronic smoking and spoilt children (although some are sweet). There's also pushing in front of others, increased prices for foreigners in some places, and scams to be aware of (random people coming up to you in the street and asking if you speak English then inviting you to a tea room, an art gallery, a special shop etc), you have to be aware. Some things you get used to (learning to avoid the scams) others you don't. However, there's a feeling of safety and also a lot of interesting things to discover. It's also a lot easier to make friends and there are many cafes which have interesting meetings and activities. I really miss Beijing.
Wtf is with this clickbait title? You contradicted yourself in the video. You could have titled it "Consider this before visiting China" but that wouldn't have gotten as many views huh?
Many smoking Dashu (uncles) spitting where ever they like and not giving a f to others around🤢, I wish the government makes a fine for this kind of behaviour.
China is more big than you think.actually,if you gotten some small city ,the landscape will be different. the most important thing is a reliable translator app
@msnicotiana : Right ✅️ you are ⚠️⚠️ If you are dark eyes , hair Okay 👍 👍 Western look , same as South East Asia ⚠️⚠️ Why not to Korea, Japan, Malaysia in which safer ⚠️⚠️👍👍 30 October
I agree with you that there are lots of people spitting randomly on the ground, chronic smokers even smoking indoors, chaotic traffic, and people not following table manners. However, public transportation is convenient, and there is a lot of delicious food. HK is a bit better, still not as hygienic/sanitary and health-conscious as a small town in Canada.
Non bias tourists upload videos & explain how China's streets are safer, cleaner, quieter public areas especially for women feeling safer anytime day or nights especially with kids. 😊 🎉❤
There are indeed uncivilized people from lower class and rural areas. As Chongqing citizen from the city in your video, I despise them spitting as well. Indeed many rules. Most parts of east Asia like Japan I am familiar with make one feel conservative and retained. Maybe we need more expressiveness.

China is generally safe because of it's strict rules and people are friendly and generous.
Compared to Usa and Uk thats a mess.
What do you mean by strict rules? Do you mean using drugs or currying weapons? Other than that there’s no strict rules in China.
@@ksks3188 i agree. I dont think China's rule is strict.
That factor combined with the abundance of security cameras (for public safety) as well as guns being illegal contributes to its safety.
that’s one of my places that I wanted to visit the most as well as france but these countries are so looked down upon when it comes to tourism which is a shame

there’s absolutely nothing to fear in France. not even in the remote locations.
Mmm I had school friends that nearly got sex trafficked in France! Multiple of them, at once.
