it may sound simple, but If I were Alex, or atheist/agnostic I would try to pray sincerely for few minutes like a Muslim "to have a feel for the faith , without feeling ashamed.. to see if Allah exist" not only this is simple to do, it would be a sign of sincerity to this possible creator to guide me, and see if I get an answer as islam claims. If not , I would be losing few minutes of prayers.. if there is an answer, his whole life will be changing to the better, his priorities would be reshuffled and the next eternal life will be a bless. if no answer I just lost few min of prayers.. simple as that.

That's like asking you to pray to bigfoot......to see if bigfoot exists. You would never do such a thing, because prayer is not how you learn if things exist or not. And speaking of answers, there's no way to know if the answer actually came from god. Everyone has a voice inside their head......so you would have to discern that this answer didn't come from your own head.

you assumed that, without asking:
-you may have either clear vivid vision (clear dream with a message)
-you see many signs in your daily life that you can't attribute all to coincidence
-and or, you start feeling strong urge to research Islam etc..
these are signs, and feeling attracted to research it..
and finally, Islam is based in reasoning and small dose of faith, because God want you to believe with faith and reason.. otherwise he would have spoken to you, or send you a messenger, or a book to each one of us..

God made everything debatable, He even allow people to doubt His own existence, everything can be debated, except for one thing that no one deny!

The existence of Australia is not a remarkable assertion that necessitates validation or conviction. Since I currently reside on one land mass, I have no reason to deny the existence of another; and even if belief were required it would still have no bearing on it existing, and the risk of my ignorance of it does not result in an endless source of suffering. Given the significance of the claim and how extraordinary it is, I will need proof that a thinking agent has any power over the forces of nature, as this has never been demonstrated in this reality. Even if I were to take a leap of faith it wouldn't be on the same terms as any of those guys are suggesting. There are methods of establishing wheether not Australia exist and I expect no less standard than it would take to establish the land of Austrailia exitsts than it would take to etablish the existence of a god . Side note: The existence of a god increases the chances of the Quran being true, not the other way around). I have no reason to believe that conciousness is any more than brain activity based on my own expreiences (which may be anecdotal, but never the less what convinces me in combination with the current evidence or lack thereof that conciousness outlast brain activity. If conciounessess did not happen before you had a developed brain there nothing to indicate that it would be any different when brain is no more. Even if there was no indication of where conciouness arrives from you do not just get to plug in a explanation that cannot be falisfied, demostrated and expect for it to warrent any merrit
